Abstract

Many schools and courses offer English lessons. The four skills of English are speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Vocabulary is a tool to help with all four of these talents. To become proficient in the four areas of English language acquisition—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—fear is an essential component.. Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kronologis merupakan kemampuan dasar dalam mempelajari sejarah, maka untuk mencapai beberapa tujuan dalam mempelajari sejarah peserta didik harus memiliki kemampuan dasar dalam berpikir sejarah yakni kemampuan berpikir kronologis. Maka untuk dapat membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kronologisnya peneliti tertarik untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran sebagai alat bantu dalam proses pembelajaran yakni media e-booklet berbasis timeline. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media e-booklet berbasis timeline pada materi Indonesia masa kolonial untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kronologis siswa kelas XI SMAN 12 Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan diantaranya analisis, perencanaan, pengembangan, penerapan, dan evaluasi. Hasil validasi ahli untuk media e-booklet berbasis timeline memperoleh persentase 88% dari ahli materi, 94% dari ahli media, 88% dari penilaian siswa uji coba kelompok kecil, dan 86,2% dari penilaian siswa uji coba kelompok besar dengan kategori keseluruhan “sangat layak”. Selain itu, hasil pretest-posttest dari kedua kelompok menunjukkan hasil n-gain score dengan kategori sedang pada uji coba kelompok kecil dan kategori tinggi pada uji coba kelompok besar. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media e-booklet berbasis timeline efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kronologis siswa kelas XI SMAN 12 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the use of Tundakan Fort as a history learning resource at SMAN 1 Paringin. The method used in the research used a qualitative approach. Data sources were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. As for data analysis, it refers to Miles and Huberman which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the utilisation of Tundakan Fort as a history learning resource at SMAN 1 Paringin had a positive impact on students' understanding of local history and increased their sense of concern for the preservation of cultural heritage. In the utilisation of Tundakan Fort as a source of history, the teacher directed students to conduct interviews with several residents of Tundakan Village. Furthermore, students were taken to the Tundakan Fort area to make observations and documentation. Then the form of evaluation used is by doing group assignments to students. This activity was carried out with the aim of measuring students' understanding of history through the results of students' observations and analyses of the Tundukan Fort. The obstacles faced include transportation, time constraints, the difficulty of coordinating students in the field and coordinating students outside of school hours.

Abstract

The occurence of tidal floods, which are a result of rising sea levels, affects the lives of the surrounding community. One of the areas frequently affected by tidal floods is Karangjompo Village, located in the northern part of Pekalongan Regency. Due to the impacts of tidal floods on residential areas, the village community needs to strategize to adapt and ensure their survival. Failure to address the challenges and issues caused by tidal floods may lead to new social problems. Therefore, the formulation of this research is to explore the adaptation strategies implemented by the community in Karangjompo Village towards tidal floods. The method used in this research is qualitative, aiming to provide a clear overview of the adaptation strategies employed by the Karangjompo community. The findings indicate that the community adopts various strategies such as periodically raising house floors, preparing door barriers during flood-prone months, purchasing or making their own boats for transportation during floods, evacuating, collaborating with various parties, and maintaining solidarity and mutual assistance among community members.

Abstract

Abstract

The intricate tapestry of Balinese identity is deeply intertwined with Hinduism, shaping a hierarchical societal structure organized around religious affiliations, castes, and traditional roles. While historically rigid, contemporary Balinese society exhibits a more flexible approach to identity, although Hindu influence remains pervasive. Historical shifts, including Dutch Colonization, Indonesia's independence and subsequent governance policies of the New Order, have further impacted Balinese identity, leading to major changes in Balinese social and political structures, furthermore economic factors, particularly tourism, have played a significant role, both amplifying cultural expression and triggering challenges such as over-tourism and urbanization, with implications for traditional livelihoods and environmental sustainability, The dichotomy of Sekala (perceivable) and Niskala (sacred) encapsulates the dual nature of Balinese culture, with interactions tailored differently for internal and external audiences. This study explores the impact of tourism and government policy on Balinese culture and identity, considering the historical background and economic significance of the island. Tourism being the primary industry, has caused Bali to experienced significant cultural and demographic shifts over the year, the influx of tourism has shaped Balinese society, economy, and cultural practices. Drawing on historical perspectives, writing, as well as contemporary observations the researcher seeks to use literature reviews, participant observations as well as interviews, by integrating firsthand perspectives with existing scholarship, the author aims to view, analyse and understand the impacts of Tourism and a post-colonial government has had and continues enrich and challenge Balinese culture and identity as well for this study to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of this complex phenomenon and inform future research and policymaking in the field.

Abstract

As global mobility increases and traveler preferences change, demand for unique and attractive accommodation is also growing rapidly. Accommodations specifically designed to provide an unforgettable holiday experience have become a focus of attention in the industry. Resorts are not only places to stay, but also tourist destinations in their own right, offering a variety of facilities and activities that attract tourists. The research in this journal aims to find out about one of the components in the assessment in the field of hospitality (hospitality assessment), namely the basic activities of the resort (activity based component). The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with Caldera Adventure: Rafting & Resort as the research location. Data was obtained through interviews, documentation and observation. The assessment indicators are based on resort user activity components based on Brey et al., (2008). The research results show that this resort offers family services, indoor and outdoor recreation, services related to well-being, a variety of activities for everyone, and entertainment activities. Increasing the variety of services and activities to attract more visitors and expand the customer base. It is hoped that this article can be used as a reference to increase the attractiveness of the resort so as to provide a richer staying experience for visitors and expand its positive impact on local tourism.

Abstract

This research was conducted to examine how prospective teachers view the post-Covid-19 learning process and how various variables (Optimization of Learning, Optimization of Student Participation) affect post-Covid-19 pandemic learning conducted with IT-based Teaching and Learning Activities. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) is the method used for data analysis in this study to analyze the data obtained after withdrawing data. This study involved Accounting Education students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, vulnerable class of 2018-2022 where these students experienced the learning process during the pandemic and post-pandemic. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to students online. The results showed that based on the views of prospective teacher students that learning optimization factors, optimizing student participation can positively and significantly influence IT-based Teaching and Learning Activities at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The historiography of R.A Kartini 's heroism is a choice of topic that is quite challenging to discuss because Kartini is the only heroine who is armed with ideas. By tracing the historiography of Indonesian heroes, it was identified that not many of them left traces for the next generation in the form of written ideas. The monumental work that makes Kartini unique is a book titled “Letters of Javanese Princess.” The book “Letters of Javanese Princess” became a new milestone in the struggle of Indonesian women to gain access to formal education. The method used in this textual research is critical hermeneutics. The critical hermeneutics method allows a broad interpretation of written texts accessed by researchers. The results show that the historiography of Kartini's heroic values tended to be distorted by her rhetorical value alone. The impact is the occurrence of cults and devotional attitudes towards personality. The content of historical knowledge based on monumental historiography is quite risky because cults and devotions are always final, making it unnecessary to re-dialogue their existence. This research can be positioned as an auto criticism of Kartini's heroic historiography by utilizing the paradigm of feminist sociology.

Abstract

The independent curriculum is one part of the learning recovery effort where teachers use teaching modules as a learning design aimed at delivering content to students systematically. This research aims to analyze the implementation of teaching modules by history teachers in class X SMAN 2 Banjarmasin, this research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and document analysis. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. Data validity techniques use triangulation of techniques and sources. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, the implementation of teaching modules by history teachers in class The school will not let this problem drag on. To overcome these problems so that teaching and learning activities are not hampered and can help teachers implement teaching modules, the efforts made are the implementation of learning communities in schools and workshop activities to increase teacher competence so that teachers in learning can improve the quality of competence in teaching.
