Abstract

This study investigates the disparities and opportunities within the tourism sector of North Sulawesi, Indonesia, with a focus on developing a holistic and sustainable geotourism strategy. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research integrates quantitative data (descriptive analysis, t-tests, and linear regression) to identify key imbalances, such as fluctuating tourist arrivals, perception gaps between domestic and international tourists regarding accommodation and transportation quality, and factors influencing tourist satisfaction (attraction quality, service quality, and infrastructure). Qualitative data, gathered through in-depth interviews and participatory observation, provides deeper insights into the causes of these imbalances, including discrepancies between destination managers' perceptions and tourist expectations, lack of coordination among stakeholders, limited human resource capacity, and minimal local community involvement. The research proposes geotourism as a viable strategy to bridge these gaps and foster sustainable tourism development. Geotourism, in this context, is defined beyond mere geological promotion; it encompasses a holistic approach rooted in local wisdom, environmental preservation, and community empowerment. Key elements of this strategy include developing geotourism-based products, enhancing service quality and infrastructure, increasing local community participation, implementing effective promotion, and ensuring sustainable management practices. The study adheres to ethical research principles, including informed consent and data confidentiality. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders, providing a framework for developing a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable tourism sector in North Sulawesi. By embracing geotourism principles, North Sulawesi can leverage its unique geological, biological, and cultural assets to create a thriving tourism industry that benefits both the environment and local communities.

Abstract

This study examines decentralization under Law Number 3 of 2024 concerning Villages, which mandates the empowerment of village governments to enhance public services and implement development programs according to local needs. The research problem states how the implementation of Law Number 3 of 2024 concerning Villages affects the role of the village government in community service and the execution of development programs in Bareng Village, Sekar District, Bojonegoro Regency. The objective of the study is to identify the regulation’s implementation in the dimensions of community service and village development. A qualitative research method was chosen, employing observation, interviews, and documentation; data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings indicate that the village’s authority in financial management and participatory planning has increased, accelerating the provision of administrative services and basic infrastructure. However, challenges arise in the synchronization of regulations across government levels and in strengthening the capacity of village officials. In conclusion, the implementation of Law 3/2024 has expanded the village’s role as a development subject, but its effectiveness depends on improved coordination and the competencies of the village government.

Abstract

The tradition of Thanksgiving in the Minahasa community, North Sulawesi, known as "Pengucapan," is a long-standing cultural practice that reflects gratitude for the blessings of harvests and other forms of livelihood. This research explores the tradition of Thanksgiving through the lens of the Gratitude Theory, as proposed by Emmons and McCullough (2003), which highlights the psychological and social benefits of expressing gratitude. The study uses a literature review methodology, drawing from articles, books, and other resources related to the Minahasa community and its Thanksgiving traditions. The results show that Pengucapan, initially rooted in agricultural practices, has evolved into a celebration that includes all forms of livelihood. It not only serves as an expression of gratitude to God but also strengthens social bonds within the community. The theory of gratitude explains that this collective expression of thankfulness enhances individual psychological well-being and fosters stronger social connections. This study provides new insights into how traditional practices like Pengucapan can positively impact mental health and social cohesion, offering a unique application of psychological theories to cultural rituals. Future research could further examine the role of gratitude in enhancing community life across different cultures

Abstract

The present study conducts an analysis of Notary's legal remedies for temporary dismissal sanctions, legal protection and legal certainty with regard to Notary's legal remedies. This is achieved by means of a case study of the Jakarta State Administrative Court Decision Number 88/G/2017/PTUN-JKT. The objective of this study is to evaluate the Notary's legal remedies for temporary dismissal sanctions and to analyse whether the PTUN Decision has provided legal certainty and legal protection for Notaries. Utilising a normative juridical approach and descriptive analysis method, this research is underpinned by primary data, including Law No. 51/2009 on State Administrative Courts, Law No. 2/2014 on Notary Position, Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 15/2020, and court decisions. The consequence of this state of affairs is that, in this particular instance, the Notary is entitled to initiate legal proceedings in the State Administrative Court to challenge the sanction of temporary dismissal imposed by the Notary Supervisory Panel. In the course of his legal efforts, the Notary is not accorded legal protection or legal certainty due to disparities in interpretation from the Panel of Judges. This research study lends further credence to the notion that notaries are instrumental in comprehending the self-defense procedures that are enshrined within the internal supervisory system of the Supervisory Council. It is imperative for judges of the PTUN to exercise greater discernment when assessing the characteristics of the decision rendered by the Central Supervisory Council.

Abstract

The shift in modern family structures has led to a rise in dual-earner families, potentially influencing identity formation in late adolescents. This study aims to investigate the effects of family functioning and friendship quality on identity formation among late adolescents from dual-earner families. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 109 late adolescents aged 15–21 years in Surabaya whose parents work full-time. Instruments included the Family Assessment Device – General Functioning Scale, the Friendship Quality Scale, and the Dimensions of Identity Development Scale (DIDS). Data were collected via a Google Form and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that family functioning and friendship quality jointly had a significant effect on identity formation (F = 806.912; p < 0.05). However, individually, only friendship quality demonstrated a significant impact (p < 0.01), while family functioning did not (p > 0.05). These findings highlight the pivotal role of friendship quality in supporting identity exploration and commitment among late adolescents in the context of limited family interactions in dual-earner households.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of positivism and critical theory in the formation of public policy through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. By reviewing relevant literature, this research explores how positivist and critical theory approaches can impact the decision-making process in public policy. The results of this SLR indicate that positivism provides an objective and measurable framework, while critical theory emphasizes normative and transformational aspects. This study concludes that the combination of these two approaches can produce more holistic and responsive public policies to the needs of society. These findings are expected to provide guidance for policymakers in adopting a more balanced and effective approach in shaping equitable and sustainable public policies

Abstract

This study examines the process of identity formation among millennial parents concerning the Tedhak Siten tradition in the modern era. Using qualitative methods through in-depth interviews with two pairs of millennial parents (Javanese-Madurese and Javanese-Javanese), this research aims to understand how the millennial generation interprets, experiences, and preserves the Tedhak Siten tradition. The findings indicate that despite the challenges of modernity and globalization, millennial parents still value the traditional values of Tedhak Siten and strive to preserve them through creative adaptations. Their identity formation process is characterized by negotiations between cultural heritage and the demands of modern life, resulting in a more flexible approach to the implementation of this tradition. The personal stories collected reveal how Tedhak Siten becomes an important moment in strengthening family bonds and instilling cultural values in children from an early age, despite various challenges such as time and financial constraints. Efforts to preserve this tradition through social media and informal education demonstrate that millennial parents are capable of balancing the preservation of cultural heritage with adaptation to modern life

Abstract

Indonesia, with its abundant cultural diversity, faces major challenges in implementing multiculturalism, especially among the younger generation. History learning based on the concept of Nusantara multiculturalism is in line with the values ​​of Pancasila. This study aims to explore the concept of Nusantara multiculturalism through historical studies and implement Nusantara multiculturalism in history learning at the high school level, with an emphasis on the application of Pancasila values. The research method used is a literature study, which collects information from various literature related to multiculturalism, Pancasila, and history education. The results of the study show that the concept of Nusantara multiculturalism has been laid as a strong foundation since the Majapahit Kingdom, emphasized by youth organizations and used as a guideline in national and state life based on Pancasila. The implementation of Nusantara multicultural education based on history learning can strengthen students' social awareness and nationalism, although there are challenges in its implementation, such as teacher readiness and curriculum limitations. Therefore, the development of a more inclusive curriculum and training for educators is very necessary.

Abstract

Based Learning (PjBL) is a learning model designed to create innovative, student-centered learning by engaging students in solving problems through the creation of a product, making decisions, and conducting observations, thereby enhancing students’ creativity and motivation. The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe the implementation, outcomes, and challenges of the PjBL model in Islamic Education (PAI) subjects to improve students' creativity in Grade X at SMA Negeri Kalirejo and Bangunrejo. The research method used in this study is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity is ensured through source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the PjBL model in PAI subjects to enhance students’ creativity in Grade X at SMA Negeri Kalirejo and Bangunrejo follows six steps according to the PjBL syntax: determining essential questions, designing project plans, scheduling, monitoring project progress, assessing results, and evaluating the experience. The PjBL model has proven effective in increasing student creativity in PAI subjects. The improvement in creativity is indicated by students showing high imagination, enthusiasm, increased confidence in expressing opinions, active participation in group work, and more controlled behavior due to collaborative learning. Challenges in implementing the PjBL model include limited time or the need for extended time, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and a lack of conducive classroom environments.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is; 1). What is the process or stages of the traditional rite of pa'a loka in the water source in the Lio Ende indigenous community, 2), What is the message of ecological awareness in the ritual of pa'a loka in the water source in the indigenous people of Lio Ende. 3). What is the ecological and anthropological view in the rite of pa'a loka water source in the indigenous people of Lio Ende.The purpose of this study is to; 1). Knowing the process of pa; a loka at water sources in the indigenous people of Lio Ende, 2). Knowing the message of ecological awareness in the ritual of pa'a loka at the water source in the indigenous people of Lio Ende. The rite of the water source in the Lio Ende community.3). To know the ecological and anthropological views of the ritual of the water source in the Lio Ende community. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study are; 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data presentation. 4) Draw conclusions. The results of the study show that the process or stages in the rite of pa'a loka water source in the indigenous people of Lio Ende go through three stages, namely; preparation, implementation and final. The message for the younger generation is that traditional rituals continue to be carried out, protecting the forest by, not illegally logging, so that the water discharge remains stable. Through the ritual of the Lio Ende indigenous people, ask for the blessing of the ancestors and provide abundant water. The ecological view in the ritual pa'a loka at the water source is to maintain a harmonious balance of relations between the environment, nature and humans.
