Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah melalui multimedia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama kurang lebih satu bulan terhitung dari 2 September sampai 9 September 2015 di Jurusan Pendidikan Sejarah. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kelas Non Reg yang berjumlah 48 mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Action Research yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahapan: a) perencanaan; b)tindakan; c)observasi; dan d) refleksi. Peneliti langsung sebagai tenaga pengajar dengan melibatkan dosen bidang studi sejarah sebagai kolaborator. Pada penelitian ini, multimedia sebagai media yang digunakan pada siklus penelitian. Berdasarkan observasi awal, ada keterbatasan dosen menggunakan media pembelajaran menyebabkan mahasiswa kurang termotivasi. Semoga dengan multimedia dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar sejarah pada matakuliah Strategi Belajar Mengajar karena mengandung unsur-unsur tiga demensi yang dapat menghidupkan peristiwa sejarah dalam imajinasi mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reality data whether there is a fun learning effect on learning outcomes in social studies subjects. This research was conducted in the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The method used is an experimental method using a pre test and post test design. The Joyful Learning method is a fun interesting learning as a result of lessons that can direct attention to the learning being undertaken. This is made in such a way that it is in an atmosphere full of fun and not boring for students. The problem in this study is the result of student learning through Joyful Learning. Learning outcomes based on the results of the final test (post test) of students in the material for Preparation for Indonesian Independence, which can be obtained that the learning outcomes of students through Joyful Learning using the independence card media in social science subjects at State Elementary School 060873 in the city of Medan, Sumatra North.

Abstract

This paper traces the presence and activities of the Chinese community in Labuhan Bilik, which was the center of the Panai Sultanate government which developed into a trading port after the Dutch colonial government developed economic activities in East Sumatra through the opening of plantations. Labuhan Bilik has developed so that it attracts the outside community to participate in trade activities, especially the Chinese community. They have been in Labuhan Bilik since 1875 and are active traders conducting trade transactions with traders in the Malay Peninsula and Singapore. Their presence received a welcome from the Panai Sultanate government and received protection in the intention of providing a place to live. The Dutch colonial government facilitated it by appointing their group members to become Kapitan who functioned as coordinators and liaisons with the government. Meanwhile, the Sultan approved the appointment of the citizens of the Sultanate to become Kerani for the Chinese community to connect them with the Sultanate. They successfully traded until Indonesia became independent during the Old Order. After that their activities faded along with the changing political and economic order in Indonesia so that they now do not play a role anymore because many have moved to other regions.

Abstract

The aimed of this study was to identify the development of Sabili from the New Orde era to Reformation era. This research included in the press history research that used historical research methods with some procedures, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The resulted of this study showed that Sabili was part of the Islamic movement pioneered by young Islamic activists in Indonesia. There were differences between Sabili during the new Orde and Reformation era. First, during the new Order era Sabili was present as an illegal magazine as a form of resistance to the New Orde, while during the reform era Sabili became a legal magazine. Second, during the new Orde era, the Sabili distribution system was carried out clandestinely and aimed at religious proselytizing activist groups, while during the Reformation period the distribution was open to the public. Third, during the New Orde era Sabili did not have an office, the name of the editor was disguised and used KTAI as a publisher, while during the reform era Sabili had a permanent office, the name of the editor used the real name and was managed by PT. Bina Media Sabili. Fourth, during the new Orde era, the Sabilis orientation was Islamic religious proselytizing, while during the reformation era Sabili preaching and business. Fifth, during the  new order era, Sabili's content focused on Islamic knowledge and news about the Islamic world, while during the reformation era, Sabili's content did not only contain Islamic knowledge and news of the Islamic world but also actual news about the national and Middle East socio-political conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of providing organizational rewards in improving teacher performance at the Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar College. Rewards that will be examined include material rewards and non-material rewards. Meanwhile, teacher performance includes aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Rewards are consistently applied overall with a proportional nominal value. By giving prizes to teachers who excel, healthy competition will be created between fellow teachers. The results of the study show that the rewards given by the school have no effect on teacher performance. The method used in this study uses a mixed method approach (quantitative mix - qualitative embeded type), namely the qualitative method as the primary method guiding quantitative data as a secondary method carried out in one research phase. The informants in the study were the leadership of the Pematangsiantar Branch of Tamansiswa and several teachers who were randomly selected from all levels of elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational school.

Abstract

In 2021 there will be a substitute for the National Examination, namely Minimum Competency Assessment and character surveys. The role of the AKM is used to measure literacy and numeracy competencies. To test the readiness of students and teachers, at the beginning of 2020 a rehearsal for the implementation of the AKM was held. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the perceptions of students' readiness in facing the Minimum Competency Assessment. This study applies a qualitative and quantitative approach by conducting surveys and interviews with students in public and private high schools and vocational high schools with high, medium, and low scores for the category of National Examination results in Aceh Province in 2019. The results of this study state that some Highest school and vocational high school students think that the AKM questions tested are not in accordance with the material in the learning process taught by teachers in schools so that they are not ready to face AKM if it is held this year.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has been going on since the end of 2019 brings its own paradigm to the learning system that takes place in schools and universities. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning independence students of Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive study that will provide an overview of student learning independence during online lectures in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The population in this study were all students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara. Existing samples were selected randomly with a total sample of 60 students. Qualitatively, student learning independence is still in the low category, both in terms of managing study time (26.67%), the ability to complete routine tasks (18.33%), thinking skills (16.67%), the ability to take initiative (28 ,33%), as well as his confidence in learning (26.67%). Therefore, online learning that is implemented needs to be improved to increase student learning independence.

Abstract

This article discusses the history of Acehnese traditional Islamic educational institutions called dayah. The discussion focused on the modernization of Dayah Darul Huda in Langsa City. The historical method is used to trace historical facts and reconstructed in the form of historiography. The results of the study found that the factors that encourage the development of dayah to a more modern system include: curriculum modernization; management; as well as infrastructure. The value contained in the vision and mission of modern Dayah Darul Huda education is the desire to make changes, improvements and development in matters especially science. Another factor that cannot be ignored is that some people still choose general education institutions as the main education for their children.

Abstract

Tanjungbalai sebagai pusat kekuasaan Kerajaan Asahan pada masa pra kemerdekaan merupakan salah satu bandar perdanaa yang ramai di pantai Timur Sumatera sehingga layak dikaji untuk menemukan aktivitas masyarakat di masa lalu. Oleh karena itu kajian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui  proses awal masuknya agama Islam di Kota Tanjungbalai dan menelisik proses perkembangan agama Islam di Kota Tanjungbalai sekaligus menemukan tokoh penyebar agama Islam di Kota Tanjungbalai serta, berusaha menemukan bangunan-bangunan peninggalan bercorak Islam sebagai bukti nyatai keberadaan Islam di sini. Kajian ini dikategorikan sebagai penelitian Sejarah dengan menggunakan metode Library Research dan Field Research dengan pendekatan deskriptif-historis. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi atas beberapa peninggalan bersejarah yang masih dapat ditemukan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kajian ini adalah penyebaran Islam di Kota Tanjungbalai tidak terlepas dari peran besar Kesultanan Asahan yang berkedudukan di Kota Tanjungbalai. Selain itu juga terdapat peninggalan Islam di Kota Tanjungbalai berupa bangunan meliputi  masjid, makam, gaya batu nisan dan lembaga kependidikan berupa madrasah Islam dan toko-tokoh ulama yang menunjukkan gairah keagamaan di kawasan ini hingga sekarang.
