Abstract

This article discusses the history of the arrival of the Arabs, especially the Sayyid group, to Medan. The Sayyid group began to come to Medan around the 19th century. On average, their arrival was motivated to trade, only a small proportion of them came with the intention of spreading Islam. This study uses the historical method in four writing steps, namely; heuristics, verification or criticism, interpretation, and historiography, with a social approach. Since the widespread cultivation of Deli Tobacco in Medan, Medan has turned into an area that is crowded with immigrants from all over the world. Moreover, since it was made the Capital of the Residency of East Sumatra in 1889, Medan has become the most developed city on the East Coast of Sumatra. The presence of Arabs in this area made Medan a city with a very diverse population. Since the beginning of his arrival, Arab social interactions have been going well and have never experienced conflicts with other ethnicities, but have been warmly welcomed. Apart from that, the presence of Arabs also had an impact on the life of the people of Medan City, such as in the fields of: religion, trade, marriage and the arts.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the events of the social revolution and its consequences in the kingdom of Padang, Tebing Tinggi after independence during the Tengku Hasyim era. This study is analyzed using library research methods and field research with a historical approach through heuristic techniques. From the results of the study, information was obtained that the last King of the Kingdom of Padang was Tengku Hasyim, who was one of the prominent freedom fighters who stated that the Padang Kingdom was within the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. During the time of Tengku Hasyim, two important events occurred, namely Indonesian independence. Then the Social Revolution at Tebing Tinggi. Tengku Hasyim's political stance was to fully support the independence of the Republic of Indonesia and surrender the Kingdom of Padang to become part of the Republic of Indonesia. However, this did not make him immediately free from the anger of the masses who were against traditional power. In 1946, the "Social Revolution" occurred in the Kingdom of Padang which resulted in the elimination of the power of this kingdom and other Malay kingdoms in East Sumatra in a bloody event. He survived with the help of the royal family from Tanjung Kasau and when the Kingdom of Padang was under the government of the Republic of Indonesia, Tengku Hasyim held the position of Ambtenaar Bestuur Aangelegenhedeen (ABA) or mayor in 1947-1950.

Abstract

The Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) is a forum for meeting subject teachers in schools. The organization was formed as a means of gathering and accommodating various ideas from teachers. This organization is also a means of accommodating various problems faced by teachers in their respective schools. The importance of establishing MGMP in overcoming problems faced by teachers in education units. Through the MGMP, it is expected that teachers can maintain the quality of their performance in carrying out their duties as teachers in accordance with the needs of the community, especially in the world of work. The role of MGMP in the process of improving teacher performance is required to make various breakthroughs that will build quality education. The purpose of this study was to explore several theories about MGMP, and their role in improving the performance of SKI MA teachers in Langsa City, containing the intention of making guidelines in the teaching process so as to be able to produce teachers who have good performance.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the pattern of Indonesian diplomacy with countries in the Eastern European region using a quantitative approach and Social Network Analysis methods. In this research data collection uses the Twitter Developer API tools which are then processed using Gephi 0.9.2 and Microsoft Excel tools. In today's digital era, communication between actors can not only be done through physical meetings. The impact of these technological and communication developments has provided a shift in the implementation of diplomacy between countries. This encourages each country to make adaptations in improving its diplomatic relations. As one of the steps to face the technological and communication revolution, diplomacy between countries is established through digital diplomacy. Digital diplomacy is a diplomatic activity that is carried out using digital instruments, in this case, social media.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership of universities in increasing the participation of HR performance. In making decisions, it is necessary to involve human resources in the formulation of school development. School readiness in the field of human resources, facilities, equipment and external conditions owned by universities determines the target indicators of success. In developing the quality of universities by implementing policy strategies that include effective involvement and communication of all school components. The school's vision and mission are built based on an agreement reached by input from all components, including stakeholders. This research is qualitative research. The research site is at the Taman Siswa College, Pematang Siantar Branch. Research resource people are university administrators, school principals, vice principals, and teachers. Collecting data using observations, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data is checked using triangulation with the source. Data analysis techniques by means of data editing, data presentation and drawing conclusions and verification.

Abstract

This article discusses how the existence of cultural activities especially is the tradition of Sekatenan Kraton Yogyakarta in guarding the civilization development of social life, trough Emile Durkheim's perspective. The method used is analytic-critic-observative. Sekatenan Kraton Yogyakarta when viewed from the perspective of Emile Durkheim's solidarity theory, there are there factors that drive this tradition. First, the existence of religious doctrine. Second, there is the involvement of every social level line. Third, there is an interest in the economic sector, namely peddling people's entertainment and some cheap merchandise to residents which was held on 1-10 Rabi'ul awwal. Based on these three elements, the Sekatenan Kraton Yogyakarta tradition provides several contributions in building a civilization of social life. First, improve spirit of religious quality. Second, as a manifestation in brotherhood strengthening and improve the relationships quality between each other. Third, improve the economics quality of the Yogyakarta citizens.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the value of learning from the utilization of the Kendari II Airfield site which is a relic of the Japanese Occupation era through the open air-museum concept. This research is a qualitative research with literature review, data collection through literature study and secondary data search in the form of archive data, maps, and documents related to Japanese remains found on the Kendari II Airfield site. Through the concept of learning that can be classified based on knowledge and understanding, skills, attitudes and values, fun and creativity, activity and behavior, it can be concluded that historical remains at the Kendari II Airfield site which is used as an open-air museum have potential value as one of the alternative in history learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi standar penilaian yang dilakukan oleh guru madrasah dalam mencapai evaluasi pendidikan Islam. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket yang disebar melalui google form dengan isi pengukuean 12 indikator standar penilaian. Hasil penelitaian menunjukan bahwa pemahaman guru terhadap standar penilaian ada beberapa indikator yang masih kurng dilakuakn yaitu pada indikator 1,4,9 dan 12. Dan kemampuan guru antara pemaham guru PAI dan Non PAI, menujukan bahwa guru PAI masih kurang prosentase pemahaman dibanding guru Non PAI. Dalam mencapai evaluasi pendidikan Islam, indikator standar penilaian yang dituangkan pada kurikulum 2013, menunjukan bahwa penilaian(evaluasi)  tersebut sudah mencapai tujuan pendidikan Islam yaitu mewujudkan muslim yang sempurna baik dari aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik.

Abstract

This paper examines the concept of Shura and democracy in a normative manner and then in depth the interesting things in a comparative study. This study stems from a prolonged discussion among Muslim intellectual circles about the full picture of Islamic politics. In general, contemporary Muslim scholars and intellectuals make the concept of shura or deliberation as a principle in the study of Islamic politics. This could be the actualization of Islamic teachings by arguing that the democratic system is substantially in line with Islam and has become a major theme in the development of a civilized political system. The substantial values of democracy that are in line with Islam can be observed from the thinking of political experts. Whereas Islam as a universal religion includes the principles that support the establishment of democracy, namely the principles of justice, equality, equal rights and obligations before the law, pluralism, equalitiy, liberty and the principle of deliberation. However, implementatively these substantial values do not escape the tiring problems and discourse, which cannot be separated from the existence of Islam with comprehensive teachings in all aspects, in contrast to Western values based on secularism and freedom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical management, social environment and the role of the principal in managing the school climate to support teacher performance at SMA Tamansiswa. A conducive climate marked by the creation of a physical school environment including an environment inside and outside the classroom as a place to carry out learning activities at school has been managed effectively, providing comfort, fun, joy, and health for teachers at work so that the teaching and learning process can take place. well. The social environment that has been built in the school is to develop good attitudes and behavior. The teachers show a sympathetic attitude and behavior, provide support and motivation to students, and set a good example. The problems that exist in SMA Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar are how to manage the physical environment, how to manage the social environment, and what the role of the principal is in managing the school climate to support teacher performance. Qualitative research methods with interviews and data collection data collectors in SMA Tamansiswa. The results of the study found that the school climate gave good results in the physical and social environment in improving teacher performance at SMA Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar.
