Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of KPI-based performance appraisal systems in improving employee performance within Indonesian non-profit organizations. Focusing on Dompet Dhuafa, Rumah Zakat, and BAZNAS, the research employs a qualitative multiple-case study approach to explore how KPI frameworks are designed, implemented, and perceived by employees and management. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and analyzed thematically using Braun and Clarke’s six-step framework. The findings reveal that KPI systems play a crucial role in aligning individual performance with organizational missions, enhancing accountability, and motivating employees. They were found to improve task performance, contextual contributions such as teamwork and initiative, and adaptive performance, particularly in the use of digital tools and responsiveness to community needs. Employees also reported increased job satisfaction when KPIs were applied transparently and supported by constructive feedback mechanisms Nevertheless, the study identifies significant challenges in the implementation of KPI systems. These include rigid indicators that overlook intangible contributions, limited digital infrastructure, cultural barriers, and additional administrative burdens for employees. Despite these obstacles, strategies such as customizing KPI indicators, promoting participatory approaches, providing continuous feedback, leveraging external partnerships, and investing in capacity-building were found to enhance the effectiveness of KPI systems In conclusion, KPI-based appraisal systems have strengthened performance management in Dompet Dhuafa, Rumah Zakat, and BAZNAS. Their long-term success depends on balancing accountability with flexibility and ensuring that systems are responsive to the unique missions of non-profit organizations.

Abstract

Marine tourism in Madura has great potential for economic growth, but its unsustainable management threatens the ecosystem and community welfare. A development strategy is needed that balances economic, social, and environmental aspects. The main challenge is the complexity of sustainable marine tourism development, where various factors are interrelated and require a holistic approach. Previous studies have identified factors that influence marine tourism, but have been lacking in integrating them into a comprehensive decision-making framework. This study aims to fill this gap by developing a Decision Support System (DSS) to help stakeholders formulate sustainable marine tourism development strategies. The main objective of this study is to develop a DSS based on Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) to map the relationships between key variables and provide strategy recommendations. The ISM approach is used to identify, analyze, and interpret the relationships between key variables. Data were collected through expert interviews, surveys, and literature studies. The study produced a hierarchical model that describes the influence and relationships between variables, as well as a DSS that is able to provide development strategy recommendations based on priorities and objectives. This study contributes to providing a structured and evidence-based decision-making tool for sustainable marine tourism development in Madura. The originality of this study lies in the integration of ISM into DSS for sustainable marine tourism, offering a new perspective in strategic decision-making.

Abstract

At the department level, the Quality Control Group (GKM) is an extension of the Quality Assurance Institution. Implementing the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) within the department is GKM's primary responsibility. With reference to the National Higher Education Standards (SN Dikti) and international quality assurance (IQA), the SPMI policy seeks to be a commitment of higher education institutions to sustainably maintain and improve the quality of higher education providers in order to fulfill the vision and mission and satisfy stakeholders through the application of the Tridharma of higher education. In the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, Improvement), GKM is crucial to maintaining quality standards. GKM keeps an eye on and assesses every application of quality standards. However, the GKM Team has not been able to perform its duties as effectively as they could in its implementation. The restricted amount of time and teams available is one of the causes. This study is to support the GKM's responsibilities, particularly with regard to monitoring and assessment. in order for GKM to perform its tasks more readily, effectively, and efficiently while saving time. The "Development of GKM Workspace Application" research will be used at Andalas University's Faculty of Information Technology's Information Systems study program.

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed business operations in various sectors, including fisheries agribusiness, where fisheries startups in East Java utilize digital advertising, SEO, and social media interaction to increase fresh fish sales. This study used a quantitative design with 120 respondents through a Likert scale questionnaire. Multiple regression analysis shows that all three factors have a positive and significant effect on sales performance, with social media interaction being the most dominant. Digital advertising increases awareness and purchase intention through targeted and cost-effective campaigns, SEO strengthens online credibility and visibility, while social media interaction builds consumer trust, engagement, and loyalty. An integrated strategy of all three enables resource optimization, risk mitigation, and short-term sales growth and long-term market resilience. Research limitations include a focus on small-scale startups in East Java, so generalizations need to be made cautiously. Future research should explore more personalized digital strategies, integration of additional platforms, and utilization of advanced data analytics.

Abstract

This study presents the implementation of Queue Tree and DNS over HTTPS (DoH) on a Mikrotik Router RB951Ui-2HnD as an innovative model for achieving a “Healthy Internet” (Internet Sehat) characterised by efficiency, fairness, and safety within community-based networks. Conducted at the Infotek Hotspot in Gritma Housing, Manado, the research employed an experimental design comparing pre- and post-implementation performance over fourteen days. Key parameters measured included latency, packet loss, throughput, and DNS response time, using tools such as Wireshark, Mikrotik Bandwidth Test, and PingPlotter. The results demonstrated substantial improvements: latency decreased from 125 ms to 83 ms (−33.6%), packet loss dropped from 5.8% to 0.9% (−84.5%), and throughput increased from 36 Mbps to 49.3 Mbps (+37%). Additionally, DoH reduced DNS response time to 22 ms—13% faster than traditional DNS—while ensuring encrypted, secure, and privacy-preserving communications. These outcomes confirm that Queue Tree effectively regulates bandwidth distribution and that DoH enhances user trust through encryption and content filtering. The dual implementation forms a synergistic framework that improves network performance while upholding ethical and secure Internet usage. Furthermore, this approach offers a cost-effective and replicable solution for community hotspots, schools, and small-scale ISPs seeking stability and security without hardware upgrades. By integrating technical innovation with digital ethics, the study contributes to the development of sustainable Internet infrastructures that embody Indonesia’s Internet Sehat vision—delivering reliable, equitable, and responsible connectivity for all.
