Abstract

The inquiry-based nutrition topic module was developed so that it can be used as an alternative innovative learning media and is expected to accommodate students' learning needs based on cognitive style. This study aims to design an inquiry-based nutrition topic module to train valid critical thinking skills. This study used the 4D research and development model but only reached the product validity stage. The initial stage (define) carried out the MFFT test in class VIIIA SMPN 2 Jenu, the results were 11 students with a reflective cognitive style and 11 students with an impulsive cognitive style. Based on the results of the MFFT test, the design of the inquiry-based nutrition topic module was designed to accommodate cognitive style. The validation instrument was used online using a google form which was carried out by 3 validators from junior high school science teachers in Tuban Regency. The instrument used is a validity sheet which includes material aspects, systematics, language, graphics, suitability with the stages of inquiry, and suitability with critical thinking indicators. Data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive technique with a Likert scale as a result of the validation carried out by the validator. The results showed that the inquiry-based nutrition topic module to train critical thinking skills met very valid criteria with a mean score of 3.74. This module needs to be tested for its practicality and effectiveness in learning.Abstrak Modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri dikembangkan agar dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran inovatif dan diharapkan dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar murid berdasarkan gaya kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis yang valid. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan 4D namun hanya sampai pada tahap validitas produk. Tahap awal (define) dilakukan tes MFFT pada kelas VIIIA SMPN 2 Jenu didapatkan hasil 11 siswa bergaya kognitif reflektif dan 11 siswa bergaya kognitif impulsif. Berdasarkan hasil tes MFFT, desain modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri dirancang dengan mengakomodasi gaya kognitif. Instrumen validasi digunakan secara online menggunakan google form yang dilakukan oleh 3 orang validator dari guru IPA SMP di Kabupaten Tuban. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validitas yang meliputi aspek materi, sistematika, kebahasaan, kegrafikaan, kesesuaian dengan tahapan inkuiri, dan kesesuaian dengan indikator berpikir kritis. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dengan skala likert hasil validasi yang dilakukan oleh validator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis telah memenuhi kriteria sangat valid dengan skor rerata 3,74. Modul ini perlu diuji kepraktisan dan keefektifannya dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Invertebrate learning is integrated with practicum activities, while the learning outcomes are directly identifying and analyzing the general characteristics of species. The electronic module (e-module) illustrates the innovative use of technology in education, which helps limited facilities and infrastructure, to carry out actual practicum in invertebrate learning activities. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of using e-modules based on virtual practicum on invertebrate material. This research method is Research and Development (RnD) adapted from Borg and Gall. The application used to develop e-modules is PubHTML5. This study produced an e-module practicum systematized invertebrate based on virtual practicum integrated with local potential, with a very valid level of validity, a practical result of 92.87%, and the effectiveness of the N-Gain value of 0.97 in the high category. So that the e-module based on virtual practicum integrated with local potential that is developed is feasible and practical to use in invertebrate practicum activities, and effectively improves student learning outcomes. With e-modules based on virtual practicum integrated with local potential, hampered laboratory activities can be carried out efficiently.Abstrak Pembelajaran avertebrata terintegrasi dengan kegiatan praktikum, adapun capaian pembelajarannya ialah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis ciri-ciri umum spesies secara langsung. Modul elektronik (e-modul) merupakan gambaran pemanfaatan inovatif teknologi dibidang pendidikan yang membantu keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana, untuk melakukan praktikum riil pada kegiatan pembelajaran avertebrata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan penggunaan e-modul berbasis virtual praktikum pada materi avertebrata. Metode penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RnD) yang diadaptasi dari Borg dan Gall, Aplikasi yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan e-modul ialah PubHTML5. Penelitian ini menghasilkan e-modul praktikum sistematika avertebrata berbasis virtual praktikum terintegrasi potensi lokal, dengan tingkat kevalidan sangat valid, hasil kepraktisan sebesar 92,87%, dan kefektifan dari nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,97 dengan kategori tinggi. Sehingga e-modul berbasis virtual praktikum terintegrasi potensi lokal yang dikembangkan layak dan praktis digunakan dalam kegiatan praktikum avertebrata, serta efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Adanya e-modul berbasis virtual praktikum terintegrasi potensi lokal, kegiatan laboratorium yang terhambat dapat dilakasanakan dengan mudah.

Abstract

The low ability of student learning outcomes is because teachers never manipulate the ability of learning outcomes, and many teachers still use conventional learning approaches. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the Group To Group Exchange method has no effect on student learning outcomes on environmental change in one of the Islamic high schools in Medan. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a Nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Data analysis of student learning outcomes used the ttest formula, with the help of SPSS version 25 data processing. Data analysis of student learning outcomes by calculating the average learning outcomes showed that the experimental class using the Group to Group Exchange method was higher than the control class. The prerequisite test proved that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of the calculation of the ttest test show that tcount is higher than ttable, so there is an influence so that it shows tcount > ttable then Ha2 is accepted. The results of this study indicate that there are influences and differences before and after the application of the Group to Group Exchange method on student learning outcomes on environmental change material in one of the Islamic high schools in Medan so that the findings obtained can be applied by teachers in carrying out learning, especially biology subjects.Abstrak Rendahnya kemampuan hasil belajar siswa disebabkan guru tidak pernah memperdayakan kemampuan hasil belajar dan masih banyak guru yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya tidak pengaruh metode Group To Group Exchange terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi perubahan lingkungan di salah satu SMA Islam di Medan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan Nonequivalent pretest posttest control Group design. Analisis data hasil belajar peserta didik menggunakan rumus uji ttest, dengan bantuan pengolahan data SPSS versi 25. Analisis data hasil belajar peserta didik dengan hasil perhitungan rerata hasil belajar menunjukan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode Group to Group Exchange lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol. Uji prasyarat terbukti data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil perhitungan uji ttest diperoleh bahwa thitung lebih tinggi dari ttabel, maka ada pengaruh sehingga menunjukan thitung > ttabel maka Ha2 diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dan perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode Group to Group Exchange terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi perubahan lingkungan di salah satu SMA Islam di Medan. Sehingga temuan yang diperoleh, dapat diterapkan oleh guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran khususnya mata pelajaran biologi.

Abstract

No research has been conducted in the Pagat tourist area which has various types of ornamental plants that can be processed as teaching materials in the form of popular scientific books based on local potential to train high school students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of popular scientific books. The research method uses formative evaluation based on Tessmer's design which consists of self-evaluation, expert validation (3 lecturers), individual test (3 students), small group test (5 students) and field test (10 students). The results of the research on the effectiveness of the BIP as a result of the development found that the criteria were very good for use by high school students because they had been fulfilled, which meant that the BIP was easy to use. This is supported by the positive response from students towards learning using the developed BIP. Students' critical thinking skills are included in the medium category with an average N-Gain of 0.5 so that they can be implemented in learning. In conclusion, the development of BIP development results is effectively used in an effort to train students' critical thinking skills.Abstrak Belum ada dilakukan penelitian di Kawasan objek wisata Pagat yang memiliki berbagai macam jenis tanaman hias yang dapat diolah sebagai bahan ajar berbentuk buku ilmiah popular berbasis potensi lokal untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan buku ilmiah popular. Metode penelitian menggunakan evaluasi formatif berdasarkan desain Tessmer yang terdiri dari evaluasi diri, validasi ahli (3 dosen), uji perorangan (3 siswa), uji kelompok kecil (5 siswa) dan uji lapangan (10 siswa). Hasil penelitian keefektifan BIP hasil pengembangan mendapatkan kriteria sangat baik digunakan oleh siswa SMA karena telah terpenuhi yang artinya BIP mudah untuk digunakan. Hal ini didukung oleh respon positif dari siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan BIP hasil pengembangan. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa termasuk kategori sedang dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,5 sehingga dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya pengembangan BIP hasil pengembangan efektif digunakan dalam upaya melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Education is a field that is very important for the future and influences other fields. One of the functions of education is to develop skills and abilities and form a better sense of dignity in the context of educating the life of the nation. This study aims to be able to see and know the difficulties faced by biology education students in microteaching lessons at Labuhanbatu University. The method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The sample in this study was made up of all fifth-semester biology education students. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and interviews. The results of the research that has been carried out regarding the analysis of the difficulties of biology education students in microteaching learning at Labuhanbatu University are: use of learning methods (42.61%), mastery of material (42.15%), skills in teaching (52.67%), skills in opening learning (54.36%), readiness in learning (54.70%), skills to ask (46.79%), skills to close learning (50.81%), and skills to explain (40.81%). Microteaching is very important for students in preparing themselves as prospective teachers and adding insight and knowledge.Abstrak Pendidikan merupakan suatu bidang yang sangat penting bagi masa depan untuk mengembangkan keahlian dan kemampuan serta membentuk generasi yang lebih baik dalam rangka mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat melihat serta mengetahui kesulitan yang dihadapi mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam pembelajaran microteaching di Universitas Labuhanbatu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif deskriptif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan biologi semester lima, tehnik pengumpulan data berupa angket dan wawancara. Adapun hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan mengenai analisis kesulitan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam pembelajaran microteaching di Universitas Labuhanbatu yaitu: penggunaan metode pembelajaran (42.61%), penguasaan materi (42.15%), keterampilan dalam mengajar (52.67%), keterampilan dalam membuka pembelajaran (54.36%), kesiapan dalam pembelajaran (54.70%), keterampilan bertanya (47.69%), keterampilan menutup pembelajaran (50.81%), dan keterampilan menjelaskan (40.81%). Pembelajaran microteaching sangat penting bagi mahasiswa dalam mempersiapkan diri sebagai calon guru dan menambah wawasan dan pengentahuan.

Abstract

The learning process in schools still experiences several problems, including in helping students to have critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills can be optimized with the development of learning resources. This research aims to develop learning resources in the form of problem-based teaching materials. The research method uses R&D (Research and Development) with a qualitative descriptive approach. Research data collection instruments in the form of interview sheets for teacher needs analysis and student needs analysis questionnaires, as well as students' critical thinking skills. The results of the needs analysis of 60 grade XI science students found that 66.7% had a handbook for learning biology, but 96.7% only had a handbook in the form of daily material, the majority of which were difficult for students to understand. So according to 78.3% of students the handbook used is inadequate as a learning resource, 86.6% of students need other learning resources to support learning activities, and 86.7% of students need other learning resources that can be understood independently. The results of the critical thinking test analysis of 50 grade XI science students were obtained 15.73%, which is included in the very low category. These results show the need to develop teaching materials in the form of problem-based digestive system interactive E-modules.Abstrak Proses pembelajaran di sekolah masih mengalami beberapa permasalahan, diantaranya dalam membantu peserta didik untuk memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis dapat dioptimalkan dengan pengembangan sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sumber belajar berupa bahan ajar berbasis masalah. Metode penelitian menggunakan R&D (Research and Development) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen pengumpulan data penelitian berupa lembar wawancara untuk analisis kebutuhan guru dan angket analisis kebutuhan siswa, serta keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil analisis kebutuhan dari 60 siswa kelas XI IPA diperoleh 66,7% memiliki buku pegangan untuk pembelajaran biologi, namun 96,7% hanya memiliki buku pegangan berupa materi sehari-hari yang mayoritas sulit dipahami oleh siswa. Sehingga menurut 78,3% siswa buku pegangan yang digunakan kurang memadai sebagai sumber belajar, 86,6% siswa membutuhkan sumber belajar lain untuk mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran, dan 86,7% siswa membutuhkan sumber belajar lain yang dapat dipahami secara mandiri. Hasil analisis tes berpikir kritis 50 siswa kelas XI IPA diperoleh 15,73%, dimana hal tersebut termasuk kategori sangat rendah. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan perlunya mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa E-module interaktif sistem pencernaan berbasis masalah.

Abstract

This research was conducted in relation to the demands of the 21st century, namely the ability to solve every problem encountered, with the measurement of scientific literacy skills in content aspects can overcome problems in everyday life for students. The research aims to determine scientific literacy skills in aspects of student content on the Basidiomycota topic. This research was conducted at the Biology Department, FMIPA, Medan State University. The population of this study were all 122 students of the Biology Study Program class of 2021 at Medan State University. The sample of this research is 31 people using purposive sampling technique. The research design is quantitative descriptive. The results of research on scientific literacy abilities on aspects of student content on the Basidiomycota topic are in the conceptual science literacy category with an average percentage of 78.02%. The results of this study indicate that the conceptual scientific literacy category of students is still at the stage of understanding the Basidiomycota topic conceptually or in general and does not yet have a specific understanding. These results can be improved by looking for accurate references to journals and books in order to better understand the Basidiomycota topic so that their scientific literacy skills reach the category of multidimensional scientific literacy.Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan berkaitan dengan tuntutan abad 21 yaitu kemampuan untuk menyelesaikan setiap permasalahan yang dihadapi, dengan adanya pengukuran kemampuan literasi sains pada aspek konten dapat mengatasi permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi sains pada aspek konten mahasiswa pada topik Basidiomycota. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Jurusan Biologi FMIPA Universitas Negeri Medan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Biologi angkatan 2021 Universitas Negeri Medan yang berjumlah 122 orang. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 31 orang dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian kemampuan literasi sains pada aspek konten mahasiswa topik Basidiomycota dalam kategori literasi sains konseptual dengan persentase rata-rata 78,02%. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan kategori literasi sains konseptual mahasiswa masih pada tahap mengerti topik Basidiomycota secara konsep atau secara umum dan belum memiliki pemahaman secara spesifik. Hasil tersebut dapat ditingkatkan dengan mencari referensi jurnal dan buku yang akurat agar semakin memahami topik Basidiomycota sehingga kemampuan literasi sainsnya mencapai kategori literasi sains multidimensi.

Abstract

Virus concept biology subjects whose material is abstract in nature can generally reduce students' interest in learning. Students' interest in learning affects their learning outcomes both academically and non-academically. This study aims to analyze the learning interests of students at SMA Negeri 2 Bilah Hilir in the subject of virus concept biology. The samples in this study were students in class X MIA-1 and X MIA-2 with a total of 65 people. This type of research is qualitative research. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire of students' learning interest, and interviews as supporting data. The results showed that the indicators of students' feelings of pleasure in participating in learning were as large as and the involvement of students in learning received the "most" category, while the indicators of students' attention to the lesson and students' interest in learning received the "almost all" category. Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews it was concluded that the media, methods, and supporting facilities in schools in an integrated manner affect students' learning interest.Abstrak Mata pelajaran biologi konsep virus yang materinya bersifat abstrak umumnya dapat menurunkan minat belajar peserta didik. Minat belajar peserta didik mempengaruhi hasil belajarnya baik secara akademik maupun non akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis minat belajar peserta didik di SMA Negeri 2 Bilah Hilir pada mata pelajaran biologi konsep virus. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X MIA-1 dan X MIA-2 dengan total sebanyak 65 orang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket minat belajar peserta didik, dan wawancara sebagai data pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan indikator perasaan senang peserta didik dalam mengikuti pembelajaran sebesar dan keterlibatan peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran memperoleh kategori “sebagian besar”, sedangkan indikator perhatian peserta didik terhadap pelajaran dan ketertarikan peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran memperoleh kategori “hampir seluruhnya”. Berdasarkan hasil angket dan wawancara disimpulkan bahwa media, metode, dan sarana pendukung di sekolah secara terintegrasi mempengaruhi minat belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Development research is carried out to produce valid project-based Student Worksheets (LKM) from experts. The type of research used is research and development (Research and development or R&D) and the development model used is adapting from the Borg & Gall model stage which is limited to the fourth stage, namely 1. Information Gathering, 2. Planning, 3. Product Design, 4. Validation Test by Experts and Product Revision. The results of material expert validation with an average presentation of 82.1%, with a fairly valid category with minor revisions, because there are several suggestions and inputs from the validator that need to be revised slightly. The components of the validation aspect by media expert validation consist of 3 components, namely: presentation of material, content and completeness of presentation. The results of the media expert validation with an average presentation of 81.2% with a fairly valid category but with minor revisions according to input from media experts. The components of the media expert validation aspect consist of 2 components, namely the feasibility of display and presentation.Abstrak Penelitian pengembangan dilaksanakan untuk menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) berbasis project yang valid dari para ahli. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and development atau R&D) dan model pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu mengadaptasi dari tahap model Borg & Gall yang dibatasi hingga tahapan keempat yaitu 1. Pengumpulan Informasi, 2. Perencanaan, 3. Desain Produk, 4. Uji Validasi Oleh Pakar dan Revisi Produk. Hasil validasi ahli materi dengan rata-rata presentasi 82,1%, dengan katagori cukup valid dengan revisi kecil, karena ada beberapa saran dan masukan dari validator yang perlu direvisi sedikit. Adapun komponen aspek validasi oleh validasi ahli media terdiri dari atas 3 komponen yaitu: penyajian materi, isi dan kelengkapan penyajian. Hasil validasi ahli media dengan rata-rata presentasi 81, 2% dengan katergori cukup vali namun dengan revisi kecil sesuai masukan dari ahli media. Adapun komponen aspek validasi ahli media terdiri atas 2 komponen yaitu kelayakan tampilan dan penyajian.

Abstract

Learning biology needs to seek the formation of students who have scientific literacy skills. This ability is closely related to understanding science in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the increase in scientific literacy skills by implementing inquiry lesson-based worksheets on the material of the human digestive system. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a non-randomized control group pre-test and post-test research design. Participants are two classes XI MIPA. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling. That is, two classes XI MIPA were randomly selected. Classes XI MIPA 5 and XI MIPA 6, each consisting of 32 students, where one was the control class and the other was the experimental class. Data were obtained using 10 PISA frameworks scientific literacy questions in the form of valid and reliable multiple choice questions. The results showed a significant difference, as evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, then H0 rejected and Ha accepted. There is a difference in t-count experimental class and t-count where is the control class t-count the experimental class is greater than t-count the control class is 53.82 > 21.997 so that the scientific literacy abilities of students from the two classes have significant differences.Abstrak Pembelajaran biologi perlu mengupayakan terbentuknya peserta didik yang memiliki kemampuan literasi sains. Kemampuan ini erat hubungannya dengan pemahaman sains di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains melalui implementasi LKPD berbasis Inquiry Lesson pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimental dengan desain penelitian Pre-test and Post-test Non-randomized Control Group. Partisipan merupakan dua kelas XI MIPA. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, yaitu dipilih secara acak dua kelas XI MIPA. Kelas XI MIPA 5 dan XI MIPA 6 yang masing-masing terdiri dari 32 peserta didik, dimana salah satu sebagai kelas kontrol dan yang lain sebagai kelas eksperimen. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan soal literasi sains berframework PISA berjumlah 10 dengan bentuk soal pilihan ganda yang telah valid dan reliabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dibuktikan melalui hasil uji hipotesis dengan Sig. (2 tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05, maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Terdapat perbedaan pada t-hitung kelas eksperimen dan t-hitung kelas kontrol dimana t-hitung kelas eksperimen lebih besar dari t-hitung kelas kontrol yaitu 53,82 > 21,997, sehingga kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik dari kedua kelas tersebut memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan.
