Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran SSCS berbantuan LKPD terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis ditinjau dari motivasi belajar. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu the nonequivalent posstest-only control group. Peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 dan XI MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Bandongan menjadi sampel pada penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan uji Anava dua jalan dan uji lanjut pasca Anava yaitu uji Scheffe, ditemukan bahwa: 1) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran SSCS berbantuan LKPD lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran langsung, 2) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik dengan motivasi belajar tinggi lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang memiliki motivasi belajar sedang dan rendah serta kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik dengan motivasi belajar sedang lebih baik daripada peserta didik dengan motivasi belajar rendah, 3) tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-concept and learning independence on the understanding of mathematical concepts. This research is a correlational research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all 11th grade students at SMA Negeri Medan with the research sample being students of class XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 as many as 49 students who were taken by random sampling technique. The research instruments used were: Test of understanding mathematical concepts consisting of 8 questions; Self-concept questionnaire with 26 statement items; and Learning independence questionnaire with 27 statement items. The data analysis technique in this research is linear regression. The results and discussion of the research show: 1). Self-concept has a positive and significant effect on understanding of mathematical concepts; 2). Learning independence has a positive and significant effect on understanding of mathematical concepts; 3. Self-concept and learning independence together have a positive and significant effect on understanding mathematical concepts; and 4). The contribution of self-concept and learning independence simultaneously to the understanding of mathematical concepts result is 52,8%, while 47,2% are contributed by other factors.

Abstract

Grade 3 students at SD N 2 Kedungwaru still have difficulty understanding length measurement material. The purpose of this study was to determine students' understanding of the length measurement material with smart ladders. The subjects of this study were 17 students in class III. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Methods of data collection using interviews, tests and documentation. While the analysis used by using the percentage (%). With a KKM score of 75, the score above the KKM is 13 students with a percentage of 76.47%. Based on the results of interviews with students who have scores above the KKM, they say that learning with visual aids is more fun and can be practiced directly so that the material obtained is easier to understand and remember. And there are 4 students whose grades are below the KKM. Students whose grades are still below the KKM because students are still confused about whether the question is multiplied or divided up the ladder up or divided or vice versa whether the descending ladder is multiplied or divided. Learning mathematics in measurement material can use smart board teaching aids and these teaching aids can help elementary school students understand measurement material. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the mathematical literacy of students with concrete sequential and concrete random thinking styles in solving AKM-type questions. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative research approach. The subjects of this study were two students of class VIII A at SMP Negeri 17 Bintan consisting of one student each of concrete sequential and concrete random student thinking style. The selection of subjects was based on the results of the best students' mathematical literacy tests from concrete sequential and concrete random thinking styles. Data collection in this study was carried out using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The research instruments used were a thinking-style questionnaire developed by John Park Le Tellier, AKM-type mathematical literacy test questions, and an interview guide. Data analysis in this study used data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that students with a concrete sequential thinking style were able to meet the cognitive level of mathematical literacy knowing and applying level. Students with a concrete random thinking style are only able to meet the cognitive level of knowing mathematical literacy.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Creative thinking is the process of generating many ideas for a problem and providing various possible answers or solutions to a problem based on the information provided. The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of students' creative thinking abilities in geometry material in terms of students' visual-spatial intelligence. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research conducted at SMA Dr. Soetomo Surabaya for the 2022-2023 academic year, with research subjects for class XII IPA 2 students. To be able to find out a description of students' creative thinking abilities, a test was carried out which contained three indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility and originality. There are two stages in this study, namely: giving questions on the visual-spatial intelligence test and giving questions on the ability to think creatively. From the results of the study using triangulation, namely by comparing the results of written tests with interviews, it was shown that: students with high visual-spatial intelligence fulfilled all indicators of creative thinking ability, students with medium-level visual-spatial intelligence only fulfilled two indicators of creative thinking ability, and students with visual intelligence low level spatial meets one indicator of creative thinking ability. Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in helping students solve problems in everyday life. The National Council Of Teacher Of Mathematics (NCTM) (in Saputro & Mampouw, 2018) argues that algebra is a sub-field of mathematics that utilizes mathematical theories to describe the relationship between objects. Therefore, the use of algebra in teaching mathematics can improve students' mathematical thinking skills, known as algebraic thinking skills. The research method used in this research is qualitative. According to Wijaya (2018) qualitative research is a form of research based on a post-positivist philosophy that emphasizes inductive reasoning and utilizes descriptive data as a basis for drawing conclusions about the deeper implications of a series of generalizations. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion of research regarding the algebraic thinking skills of students of SMP Negeri 12 Kota Sungai Penuh class IX A in solving SPLDV material questions, it can be concluded that the algebraic thinking skills of students IX A are divided into three categories, namely there are 13.63% of students with ability level high level, 27.28% of students with medium level ability and 59.09% of students with low level algebra ability.

Abstract

Wajik usually served at weddings on Tuban. The existence of wajik made researcher interested in developing teaching materials that include cultural elements in mathematics learning. The hope of ethnomathematics-based teaching materials can understand mathematical material and introduce our culture to students. The aim of the research was to develop student worksheets with an ethnomathematics approach using wajik traditional food for mathematics learning at seventh grade of junior school on appropriate quadrilaterals and triangles. The method used in this research was Development Research (DR) with the Tessmer research model which consists of two stages, namely preliminary and formative evaluation. The subjects in this research were seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Bancar with trials at the one to one stage with 2 students, the small group stage with 6 students, and the field test stage with 32 students. Validity was obtained based on expert validation results, namely 85%, practicality was obtained based on student response results, namely 93%, and effectiveness was obtained based on student evaluation results, namely 92%. Based on the percentage obtained, the eligibility of the developed worksheet was guaranteed to be feasible.

Abstract

Elementary school (SD) students must possess fundamental mathematical abilities. One of them is the capacity to execute numerical calculation procedures. Evidence from the field indicates that the academic performance of primary school kids in mathematics remains at a poor level. This occurs due to the constraints imposed by teachers on pupils' activities at school, leading to a rapid onset of boredom during the learning process. Hence, it is imperative to establish a novel educational environment by leveraging media tools to enhance the enjoyment and dynamism of the learning process. The learning method "MOVING TWINS" will be utilized. The objective of this study is to enhance the learning motivation of primary school children in the subject of arithmetic operations by utilizing the Moving Twins game. The participants of this study consisted of elementary school kids, selected using the purposive sampling technique. This study employs a pre-experimental design known as a one group pretest-posttest design. The research findings indicate that employing the Moving Twins Game can enhance the learning motivation of primary school pupils in the domain of number counting operations. Abstract

Students need to master conic material when studying curved-sided geometric figures. However, cone material is still difficult for students to understand. Therefore, this research aims to create a learning trajectory that can make students understand the concept of cones using the context of the mitoni tradition in class IX SMP. Using the design research method, this method has three stages, namely preliminary design, design experiment (pilot experiment and teaching experiment), and retrospective analysis. This research was designed and developed using the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach. The research subjects consisted of 32 class IX students at SMP Negeri 39 Semarang, which was carried out from August to September 2023. The results of this research were a learning trajectory that included a series of learning processes with three activities, namely observing videos of the mitoni tradition to find the elements of cones; find the formula for the surface area of a cone; determine the formula for the volume of a cone; and solving contextual problems related to cones. This activity was carried out to increase students' understanding of cone material. The research results show that the context of the mitoni tradition can help students understand the concept of cones. Apart from that, the results of this research present alternative local wisdom that can be used in mathematics, especially in cone materials.

Abstract

This research was motivated by problems in mathematics learning, namely the lack of student understanding of mathematical concepts, one of the causes is the use of learning media or teaching materials that still use print media such as LKS and textbooks, and the learning process that occurs is still teacher-centered. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the android-based interactive media Ethmamenku (Etnomatematika Menara Kudus)   to improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts. This type of research is Research and Development using the ADDIE development model. The types of data collected are qualitative data and quantitative data. Data analysis in this study used normality gain test analysis. The results of the study suggest that the interactive media Ethmamenku (Etnomatematika Menara Kudus) based on android is declared effective to improve the understanding of mathematical concepts. Judging from the results of limited trials and extensive trials, the results of the n-gain test show that there is a difference or increase between values before and after using the media. Based on these results, the android-based interactive media Ethmamenku (Etnomatematika Menara Kudus)  is effectively used in the process of teaching and learning activities.
