Abstract

Indonesia's economic growth in the logistics sector is becoming increasingly significant, alongside the rising demand for goods. However, the complexity of logistics supply chain management in Indonesia still faces challenges, including security, human error, and lack of transparency. This research proposes the use of blockchain technology for a logistics supply chain management system, which is capable of storing transaction data in a decentralized and distributed manner. Ganache is used as a local blockchain server, Metamask for transactions, and smart contracts to manage user flows on a web3 dapps-based website. The research procedure includes literature study, design, development, and system testing. The test results indicate that all features and functions of the system operate as expected. The system not only successfully handles high demand and transaction spikes but also demonstrates enhanced data security, improved transparency through real-time tracking, and robust performance under high workloads. Overall, this blockchain-based logistics supply chain management system effectively secures and manages transaction data while enabling data tracking and tracing, thereby increasing transparency and handling high concurrent transactions efficiently.

Abstract

Jeneponto Regency in South Sulawesi possesses significant wind potential, making it an ideal location for the development of Wind Power Plants (WPP). However, these WPPs are intermittent due to the inconsistent nature of wind energy, presenting challenges that affect the performance and efficiency of turbines in generating electricity. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the performance of the SWT-3.6-130 wind turbines at the Tolo 1 WPP in Jeneponto to determine their capability in converting wind energy into electrical energy at specific wind speeds. The evaluation results indicate that the performance of the SWT-3.6-130 wind turbines at the Tolo WPP in February 2022 was not optimal. The maximum output power generated by these turbines approached the maximum capacity of 3.6 MW, with Turbine 06 producing 3.57 MW at a wind speed of 13.07 m/s, Turbine 09 producing 3.57 MW at a wind speed of 12.27 m/s, and Turbine 013 producing 3.58 MW at a wind speed of 12.11 m/s. Although the power generated was close to the maximum capacity, the performance variation among turbines indicates the need for further evaluation to address factors reducing efficiency. Power coefficient analysis shows that Turbine T13 exhibited the best performance, with the fewest instances of power coefficient values not meeting standards. This study provides crucial insights for improving performance and preventing failures at the Tolo WPP in the future.

Abstract

Agriculture is a key sector of the Indonesian economy, with shallots being one of the most important commodities. However, limited access to electricity in rural areas is often a barrier to the implementation of efficient irrigation systems. This research focuses on developing an automatic shallot irrigation system using a solar pump. The system is designed by using solar panels to convert solar energy into electricity to power the water pump. They use an Arduino-based control system integrated with a real-time clock (RTC) to automatically set the watering schedule so that plants can be watered at the right time without human intervention. Tests were conducted on 96 m² of land to evaluate the performance of the automation system, energy efficiency, and system performance under actual operating conditions. The testing results show that the system can operate efficiently, with the solar panel generating enough energy to power the pump and maintain watering continuity. The system can reduce dependence on conventional electricity, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly irrigation solution. As such, the system provides an effective solution for agricultural systems in areas with limited access to electricity, while supporting the use of renewable energy.

Abstract

This study discusses the detection of medium voltage insulator cracks using object detection technology. This study uses medium voltage ceramic insulator image data at the ULP Daya Waste Material Warehouse. Ceramic insulator image data is categorized into good and damaged conditions. Preprocessing involves labeling, dividing train data, validation, and testing, and exporting data to Pascal VOC format. MobileNetV2 is implemented on Google Collab to train the object detection model. The evaluation of the model accuracy is in the COCO matrix, while the performance graph shows that the model can read objects well because the reading curve is in line with the smooth curve. Furthermore, this model is applied in creating an Android application that uses the device's camera to detect objects in real-time. This application processes images, converts from YUV to RGB, and performs object detection using the trained model. The detection results are displayed with bounding boxes and labels on the camera reviewer, namely the good class with a reading value of 1.0, the damaged class with a reading value of 0.67 and the background 1.0. This application also tracks detected objects and updates the display according to the detection results.

Abstract

Improving power quality in electrical distribution systems is increasingly important with the increasing use of nonlinear loads, such as Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD), which can produce harmonies. This harmonic has the potential to damage equipment, reduce system efficiency, and interfere with power quality. Distribution systems such as IEEE 13 Bus are often used for power quality management analysis. Through simulation, researchers can identify the source and impact of harmonics and evaluate solutions, such as the application of passive filters that absorb or divert harmonic currents, to reduce their negative effects in the distribution system. In this study, two power sources, several transformers, static loads, and nonlinear loads in the form of Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD) were used. The simulation was carried out using Simulink R2019b to model the distribution network, generators, transformers, and loads. The simulation results show that the Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD) load can produce a total harmonic current distortion (THDi) of 24.62% in bus 7, while the total harmonic voltage distortion (THDv) is 0.97%. To minimize harmonic values, passive filters with variations of RL, RC, LC, and RLC are used. The results show that the use of RL passive filters is more effective in reducing THDi and THDv values in bus 7 by 24.47% and 0.97%.

Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the best slack bus placement during peak loads by considering the voltage profile of the generator buses in the South Sulawesi electricity system. Analysis was performed to determine the optimal slack bus placement and its impact on the bus voltage profile. South Sulawesi's electric power system is made up of 29 power-generating units, including PLTA, PLTU, PLTG, PLTGU, PLTMH, PLTD, and PLTB, that operate at a voltage of 150 kV. In addition, 56 substations are linked via a 150 kV transmission network. This study relies on daily operational data from the South Sulawesi system at peak load on September 16, 2022. Using Matlab's Newton-Raphson method to simulate power flow, five scenarios are used to alternately change the generator bus (PV bus) into a slack bus; the generators are PLTA Bakaru, Punagaya PLTU, Jeneponto PLTU, Sengkang PLTU, and Poso PLTA. After running simulations for each generator, it was discovered that Poso PLTA had the voltage profile closest to the standard set by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation number 20 of 2020, which ranges between 0.90 and 1.05 pu. In comparison to the other four slack buses, it had the lowest total power loss of 120,743 MW and 593,764 MW MVAR.

Abstract

The increasing implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) in 5G technology and cellular communications faces significant challenges regarding data traffic load and network congestion, particularly in conventional smart home systems. This research proposes and implements a distributed parallel smart home architecture as a solution for optimizing data traffic management and enhancing system reliability. The developed architecture adopts a three-layer structure: a cloud layer as the parent node, a route layer based on ESP8266 as distributed nodes, and a leaf layer consisting of sensors and actuators. Implementation was conducted through a prototype model at the UMI Electrical Engineering Laboratory with comprehensive system performance testing. Results demonstrate a 47% reduction in traffic load compared to conventional centralized systems, achieving 99.7% reliability with a 2.3-second recovery time. The system maintains bandwidth utilization below 60% and demonstrates scaling capability up to 200% without performance degradation. Under normal conditions, the system achieves an average traffic rate of 0.93 Kbits with a 45ms response time, while in emergency mode, it handles peak traffic up to 0.94 Kbits with a 32ms response time. This research contributes significantly to developing more efficient and scalable smart home architectures while providing a framework for implementing parallel distributed systems in broader IoT applications.

Abstract

his research focuses on developing an application to extract speech signal characteristics of Bugis regional speakers using Matlab and Wavesurfer software. The study centers on feature extraction, specifically Short Time Energy (STE), Autocorrelation Cepstral for pitch extraction, and Cepstrum Linear Predictive Coding (LPC) for formant analysis. Results indicate that male voices have greater signal energy than female voices. The pitch values for male speakers range from 52.29 Hz to 135.76 Hz, while female speakers' pitch ranges from 73.39 Hz to 242.42 Hz. The formant analysis showed that male and female speakers have distinct formant frequencies, with male speakers having lower formant frequencies. For instance, the first formant (f1) in male speakers ranges from 433.0 Hz to 590.3 Hz, while in female speakers it ranges from 273.9 Hz to 452.8 Hz. The pitch of male voices is concentrated between 50 Hz and 250 Hz, whereas female voices fall between 120 Hz and 500 Hz. Additionally, differences in formants (f1 to f5) were observed in the word "na'baca," with female speakers generally having higher formant frequencies. This analysis provides valuable insights into the acoustic characteristics of the Bugis regional language. The developed application aims to enhance speech signal processing technologies, supporting applications like speech recognition, linguistic analysis, and voice synthesis, contributing to the preservation of the Bugis language through signal processing techniques.

Abstract

The aim of this research to identify areas requiring further attention to enhance electricity distribution efficiency. Data collection is conducted through observation and documentation methods to obtain secondary data such as Single Line Diagram, Distribution Transformer Load Current, Substation Voltage, Conductor Type, Conductor Length, and Conductor Cross-Sectional Area. Secondary data is processed and analyzed to obtain the conductor resistance value, conductor/line power losses, transformer power losses, total power losses, and total energi losses occurring in the distribution network using mathematical calculations, followed by simulation using the ETAP (Electrical Transient Analysis Program) application. After manually calculating power losses in the PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Banda distribution network at Penyulang Nusantara, which reached 7.84034 kW, the simulation results using the ETAP software show 7.8 kW, with a power loss percentage of 0.69% relative to the load. Following the simulation of improvement efforts using ETAP (conductor uprating and load balancing), power losses decrease to 4.4 kW (a reduction of 3.4 kW), with a percentage of 0.39%. The energi losses before improvement are 5,645.045 kWh (1.802%), and after improvement, it becomes 3,168 kWh (a reduction of 2,477 kWh) with a percentage of 1.59%. The improvement efforts result in savings of IDR 3,578,586.91.
