Abstract

Evaluation of student satisfaction with campus facilities is one important aspect in improving the quality of college services and infrastructure. However, this satisfaction evaluation process has a gap between student expectations of the facilities provided by the campus. This research aims to design a Decision Support System (DSS) that can help the campus in assessing student satisfaction levels using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. This method was chosen because of its ability to conduct an assessment based on criteria that have certain weights so as to produce the best alternative ranking. The criteria used in this study include cleanliness, maintenance, comfort, completeness, condition, service, and level of satisfaction. Data was obtained through questionnaires distributed to students in various study programs, focusing on various aspects of campus facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hall areas, and podcast studios. It was then processed using SAW steps, including matrix normalization and final score calculation. The result showed that the final results of the evaluation of student satisfaction with campus facilitiesf from 100 respodents obtained a fairly high score of 44 which was said to be quite good. This SAW method is able to provide a clear ranking of the level of student satisfaction, as well as identify areas that require improvement or enchancement at the college.

Abstract

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) enables programmable network management through the separation of the control plane and the data plane, making routing algorithm selection a critical factor in traffic distribution and network performance. The shortest path algorithm is commonly used as a baseline due to its deterministic behavior, but it may lead to load imbalance in topologies with multiple available paths. This study aims to compare routing behavior and network throughput between shortest path and Round Robin–based load balancing algorithms in an SDN environment. An experimental approach was employed by implementing both algorithms on the same topology and configuration using the Ryu controller and Mininet. Evaluation was conducted using observational and descriptive analysis through routing path inspection, OpenFlow flow rule analysis, and throughput measurement using iperf, a widely used network performance measurement tool that generates traffic to evaluate bandwidth between end hosts. The experimental results show that the shortest path algorithm consistently utilizes a single dominant path with an aggregate throughput of 6.46 Gbit/s, while the load balancing algorithm distributes traffic across multiple active paths and achieves a higher aggregate throughput of 9.65 Gbit/s. These findings indicate that load balancing provides better bandwidth utilization than shortest path under the tested experimental conditions.

Abstract

Modern e-commerce platforms are required to handle increasing transaction volumes and user traffic while maintaining high performance and scalability. This study evaluates the implementation of a microservices architecture on the Waltmart e-commerce platform to improve performance, scalability, and system reliability. The architecture is designed using independent services supported by Protocol Buffers for efficient inter-service communication, Redis caching for faster data retrieval, and Message Queue (MQ) mechanisms for asynchronous processing. Kubernetes is applied to manage container orchestration and autoscaling under varying traffic loads. Performance evaluation is conducted through load testing by measuring serialization time, response time, and system throughput. The results show that Protocol Buffers reduce serialization and deserialization time by more than 50% compared to JSON, while Redis caching significantly lowers response times and increases throughput. Although the performance improvement from MQ is relatively modest, it enhances system stability during high-volume transactions.

Abstract

Political injustice and repression often arise in authoritarian power systems and are often represented in literary works as a form of social criticism. This study aims to analyze the framing of injustice and political repression in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori. The study uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative content analysis method. The analysis was conducted using the framing model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki which includes syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. The research data consists of narratives and dialogues in the novel that describe the kidnapping, illegal detention, and torture of pro-democracy activists in the lead-up to the 1998 Reformation. The results show that the novel frames political repression as a systemic practice of state violence. The script structure displays a series of repeated violence, the syntactic structure positions activists as victims, the thematic structure emphasizes experiences of injustice and trauma, while the rhetorical structure strengthens meaning through metaphors and symbols. This novel functions as a social reflection as well as a critique of repressive power practices and the importance of protecting human rights.

Abstract

Animated films not only function as entertainment media, but can also represent the social dynamics that occur in children’s lives, including power relations within peer groups. This study aims to analyze the representation of power relations in the animated film Jumbo (2025). The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with John Fiske’s semiotic analysis method which includes three levels of meaning, namely reality, representation, and ideology. Data were obtained through observation and documentation of scenes, dialogue, gestures, facial expressions, and audiovisual elements in the film. The results show that power relations are represented through verbal domination, ridicule, and social exclusion of the character Don as a party who is in a weaker social position in the group. Visually, this inequality is also reinforced through the composition of frames and cinematic techniques that place Don apart from the group. At the ideological level, this film reflects a critique of the normalization of domination in children’s social relationships and emphasizes the importance of empathy, social acceptance, and equality in friendships

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of multiple feature representations in classifying Pikachu images into three distinct visual categories: anime, action figures, and hand-drawn illustrations. The primary challenge lies in limited data availability and the high visual variability across styles, resulting in significant inter-class similarity and intra-class diversity. To address this issue, the study employs a transfer learning approach utilizing pre-trained Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), namely VGG-16 and Inception-V3, alongside painterly feature descriptors. The dataset comprises 351 images collected from open-access sources with balanced class distribution. Extracted features are subsequently classified using Support Vector Machines (SVM) and shallow Neural Networks. The findings demonstrate that integrating deep semantic features with artistic representations significantly improves classification accuracy compared to single-feature approaches. These results highlight the critical role of hybrid feature engineering and classifier selection in achieving robust image classification performance under data-constrained conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between exposure to outdoor media on Smoke-Free Areas (Kawasan Tanpa Rokok/KTR) and students’ perceptions within the university environment. The study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design involving 189 respondents selected through a non-probability sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data analysis includes validity, reliability, and normality tests, as well as Pearson correlation and simple linear regression as a supporting analysis. The results indicate a significant relationship between outdoor media exposure and students’ perceptions, with a correlation coefficient of 0.529, which falls into the moderate category. Hypothesis testing shows that the calculated t-value (8.516) is greater than the t-table value (1.973) with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The findings suggest that higher levels of outdoor media exposure are associated with more positive student perceptions toward the implementation of smoke-free area policies.
