Abstract

Bromonilan Tourism Village or DEWA BROMO is a rural tourism object of Sleman Regency based on local communities or Community-Based Tourism which was established based on a Pokdarwis Decree dated January 7, 2019. This tourist village located on the banks of Kali Kuning offers a concept of rural tourism destinations. The surge in tourists in the weekends has an impact on the accumulation of garbage in the Bromonilan environment. The research method used in this research is to study data through observation, in-depth interviews with the manager and study documentation. Research shows that there has been no significant optimization of plastic waste since this tourist village was established in January 2019 to January 2021 so that the remaining plastic waste from visiting tourists is neglected so it is necessary to optimize plastic waste into paving blocks. Abstract

This research project examines the ways in which digital literacy is incorporated into the secondary education curriculum in various Asian countries. This study aims to investigate the comparative teaching strategies employed with the aim of enhancing students' digital competencies. Qualitative research methods were employed to obtain data through in-depth interviews, document analysis and participatory observation in secondary schools in five Asian countries: Indonesia, Singapore, India, South Korea and Japan. The findings indicate that technology-based strategies, teacher training and national policies play an instrumental role in the successful integration of digital literacy. The research validates that a comprehensive approach to the incorporation of digital literacy in secondary education in Asia necessitates an interwoven combination of pedagogical strategies, conducive policies and robust technological infrastructure. The insights gained from this research are invaluable for the formulation and refinement of an inclusive and effective digital literacy curriculum.

Abstract

This research was conducted because of complaints from several parents regarding the BSM decision at SDN Kalanganyar ABC, however there were several students who were less well off because the choice of BSM was still subjective. SDN Kalanganyar ABC always holds activities related to BSM admissions once a year. It is hoped that this activity can also provide benefits for students who are poor but have excellent grades so they can carry out activities without being burdened by financial needs. In reality, there are still many students who do not receive BSM, even though according to the requirements, these students should be entitled to receive BSM. Therefore, there is a very irrational subjectivity in the ongoing elections. To overcome this problem, researchers tried to develop an application that applies the Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method, namely a method that makes decisions based on a rational compromise of criteria. These criteria include student reports, parents' income, academic achievement, dependents, home conditions, parents' relatives, and activity. From the results of the analysis and application of the VIKOR decision support system, subjective results were obtained for students whose evaluation standards and final decisions were lower than several other students, but the school provided BSM recommendations. To prevent the recurrence of this incident, VIKOR was able to answer objective findings with results of 76.57% with subjective findings of 23.43% in the previous system.

Abstract

Background. The integration of augmented reality (AR) into STEM education has gained attention for its potential to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Traditional methods of teaching STEM subjects often struggle to provide students with immersive, hands-on learning experiences, which are crucial for understanding complex concepts. AR, with its ability to create simulated environments, offers a solution by making abstract theories more tangible and interactive. However, the impact of AR-based simulated learning on student outcomes remains underexplored. Purpose. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of AR in enhancing STEM education by simulating real-world applications of theoretical concepts. Method. The research utilized a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative assessments of student performance and qualitative feedback from students and educators. A sample of 300 high school students participated, using AR-enhanced learning modules in subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology. Data were collected over a semester, focusing on improvements in comprehension, engagement, and practical application of STEM knowledge. Results. The results showed a significant improvement in students' understanding of STEM concepts, with a 28% increase in test scores compared to traditional learning methods. Student engagement levels were also higher, as AR provided interactive, visually rich learning experiences. Educators reported that AR helped students connect abstract theories to real-world applications, fostering a deeper understanding of STEM subjects. Conclusion. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that AR-based simulated learning is an effective tool for enhancing comprehension and engagement in STEM education. These findings suggest that AR has the potential to transform how STEM subjects are taught, making learning more immersive and applicable to real-life contexts.

Abstract

Data science is rapidly evolving and plays a vital role in a variety of fields, from business to healthcare. However, the complexity of the data generated often makes it difficult for stakeholders without a technical background to understand. Data visualization is here to bridge this gap, enabling complex information to be translated into more intuitive and understandable graphical representations. Through effective visualization, patterns, trends, and insights hidden in data can be identified more quickly, facilitating better and faster decision-making. This article explores the critical role of visualization in data science, discussing the key techniques used to transform raw data into informative visualizations. It will also discuss how choosing the right visualization can help uncover relationships between variables, facilitate predictive analysis, and support in-depth analytical processes. By integrating visualization into the data science workflow, we can not only accelerate understanding but also improve communication between technical and non-technical teams. Ultimately, visualization is not just a supporting tool, but a core element that helps transform data into valuable insights.

Abstract

The election of the BEM President is a hereditary tradition at XYZ University every year. This election was carried out to find a leader who has a firm personality and broad insight. As the number of students at XYZ University increased, we doubled the election using the Weighted Product (WP) method with the conditions that we had determined with the campus. So we are sure that this method will produce the leaders we expect, and also in this way the campus automatically saves budget for voting or direct elections. The WP method which is quantitative in decision making, the WP method uses multiplication to link attribute ratings, where the rating of each attribute must be raised to the first power of the attribute weight in question. By applying the WP method to decision support system, then implementing it into a ranking system, it will produce students who deserve to become BEM in the next period. There is a WP method at XYZ University in order to get a BEM President who meets the criteria we set. Where the existing criteria consist of TPA criteria, Liveliness, Commitment, GPA, Absent, and Age. After calculating using the WP method, it was found that the strongest student who deserved to be president of BEM was Siti Munawaroh who was ranked first. The results of the recommended method by conducting a questionnaire to the BEM management by producing an accuracy of 0.01356.
