Abstract

Globalization has contributed to a decline in children's familiarity with local languages and cultures. This situation calls for educational strategies that preserve local heritage while fostering early multilingual skills. This study explores the meaning and implementation of the Sarigabah (One Day, Three Languages) program at SDN 1 Mangkujayan as a cultural preservation and multilingual education effort. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving three teachers and six students. The findings show that Sarigabah integrates the use of Indonesian, Javanese, and English within a single school day according to a set schedule. The inclusion of Reog Ponorogo traditional attire enhances cultural values. Teachers and students actively participate, show pride, and develop greater confidence in using both local and foreign languages. The program fosters a culturally rich, multilingual learning environment. Thus, Sarigabah is an effective model of local wisdom-based education to address global challenges.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Entry-Level Assessment (ELA) in measuring academic readiness and predicting the success of new students during their first year of study. The research utilized a mixed-methods approach, integrating qualitative analysis to describe the characteristics of test items with quantitative analysis to explore the relationship between ELA scores and academic achievement, as reflected in first and second-semester grade point averages (GPA). Data were gathered from ELA documents, ELA scores, and the GPAs of 132 students. The findings demonstrated that the ELA encompasses tests assessing academic potential, literacy, numeracy, and English, with a particular focus on higher-order thinking skills. Correlation analysis revealed a positive relationship between ELA scores and GPA in the first semester; however, this correlation weakened in subsequent semesters. These findings affirm that the ELA possesses strong predictive validity for short-term academic success but has limitations in forecasting long-term performance. This study makes a significant contribution to the advancement of college entrance tests by recommending enhancements in item design, improving the relevance of cognitive indicators, and broadening the assessment framework to include social and emotional skills. The implications of these findings are vital for higher education institutions in developing their selection policies and supporting students' academic journeys.

Abstract

The humanistic and emancipatory education promoted in Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's novel Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window offers a learning model that is relevant to the challenges of future education in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the application of the concept of humanistic, inclusive, and emancipatory education contained in the novel, and its relevance to 21st-century education in Indonesia. The research method used is a qualitative approach with text analysis, followed by a philosophical study of the concept of education raised in the novel. The results of the study indicate that education based on freedom, inclusivity, and character development at Tomoe Gakuen has the potential to be applied in Indonesian education, by utilizing technology to create more independent, creative, and inclusive learning, and shaping students' characters to face increasingly complex global challenges. In addition, the results of this study also highlight the importance of the role of teachers as facilitators in creating a learning environment that supports the development of 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving, as well as developing social empathy in the digital era.

Abstract

The Bancakan folk tale represents a simple yet meaningful tradition of celebration through food offerings. This study uses a gastro-semiotic-ethnographic approach to reveal the function of food in the story as a cultural symbol and inspiration for humanistic education. The method used is qualitative descriptive-text analysis with the data source being the folk tale titled Bancakan by Sudadi. Data was collected through reading, note-taking, and mapping signs and values. It was analyzed using a framework of gastronomy, semiotics, and ethnography, supported by Causal Layered Analysis (CLA). The research findings reveal that food in the story, such as nasi gunungan, urap, boiled eggs, salted fish, and nasi gandulan (rice sent to an absent child), represents prayers, hopes, togetherness, and care. This aligns with Javanese cultural practices that emphasize togetherness and acceptance (nrima). Through CLA, the symbolism of these foods is projected into future education through a love-based curriculum rooted in compassion, empathy, and solidarity. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of gastrosemiotic ethnography and CLA, positioning culinary folk tales not merely as cultural heritage but as a source of inspiration for humanistic education grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

Conventionally, apologies are understood as expressions of regret or corrective exchanges aimed at maintaining social order when a norm is violated. However, in the context of social commerce content among the Madurese ethnic group, apologies do not always signify remorse. This study examines the phenomenon of apologies accompanied by threats in the practice of Madurese social commerce on digital platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. The threats accompanying apologies can be either non-conditional or conditional, and are used to strengthen bargaining positions or assert the speaker’s authority. Using an ethnocyberpragmatic approach, this research highlights how apology utterances accompanied by threats or warnings are employed within Madurese social commerce content. Data were collected from social media posts showcasing bargaining interactions between sellers and buyers. The analysis reveals that apologies in this discourse do not function literally, but rather as part of a culturally distinctive trading strategy. In conclusion, social commerce within the Madurese community serves not only as a medium for economic transactions but also as a site for cultural expression and identity negotiation that remains vibrant in contemporary digital communication practices.

Abstract

The background of this research is the existence of humanist relations between police and prisoners. This research aims to find humanist relations in the YouTube platform @indrasucipta. This type of research is qualitative research. The data source in this research is the @indrasucipta YouTube platform. The data analysis used in this research is cyberpragmatic analysis adapted from Fransisco Yus's cyberpragmatic theory. The results of the study prove that (1) the @indrasucipta youtube account is relevant to invite its audience to be moved in the action of spreading humanitarian values, (2) the @indrasucipta youtube account is responded to by its audience when taking the context of sharing with prisoners.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi ketidaksantunan dalam interaksi jual beli daring masyarakat Madura dengan menggunakan pendekatan siber pragmatik. Ketidaksantunan adalah perilaku berbahasa yang melanggar norma kesopanan sehingga menimbulkan perasaan tidak nyaman, tersinggung, dan terhina bagi lawan tutur. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis bentuk ketidaksantunan dalam interaksi jual beli daring perspektif Jonathan Culpeper. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui metode observasi nonpartisipatif terhadap 100 video TikTok interaksi jual beli yang diunggah pada akun media sosial “Maz Aruel.” Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi ketidaksantunan perspektif Jonathan Culpeper yang digunakan meliputi ketidaksantunan langsung, positif, negatif, kesantunan semu, dan meniadakan kesantunan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media digital menjadi ruang baru untuk mengekspresikan ketidaksantunan dalam interaksi jual beli masyarakat Madura. Tuturan tersebut menunjukkan adanya pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan Jonathan Culpeper yang beragam, melalui lensa siber bagaimana tuturan memperkuat atau memodifikasi ekspresi ketidaksantunan.

Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into education necessitates urgent ethical implementation frameworks, especially in vocational systems of developing countries like Indonesia, where workforce readiness meets digital transformation. The purpose of this study is to address gaps in ethical AI governance within Indonesian vocational schools (SMK). A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was employed, involving 847 stakeholders from 34 provinces and eight in-depth SMK case studies. Findings reveal moderate national AI ethics awareness (M=2.83), with significant regional gaps—from Java (3.01) to Papua (2.34)—and a critical privacy paradox: high concern (M=3.67) coexists with low legal literacy (28.9%). Students actively use AI for academic support (64.3%) but lack institutional guidance, while teachers face identity crises requiring deeper pedagogical reform beyond technical training. The proposed ETIKA-SMK framework, co-developed with experts, received strong validation (relevance 4.3/5.0; innovation 4.4/5.0) and showed improvements in ethical policy compliance (67.8%) and cybersecurity practices (58.7%) at pilot schools. The study highlights the need for differentiated implementation strategies, as 50% of SMKs fall into “Traditional” or “Struggling” categories requiring foundational capacity-building. It concludes that ethical AI integration must be grounded in local contexts, institutional capacities, and cultural values, rather than adopting standardized global models unsuitable for low-resource educational environments.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas mengenai representasi nilai pendidikan dalam aspek kearifan lokal terhadap film berlatar Indonesia Timur. Pembahasan mengenai hal ini menarik karena banyak film di Indonesia Timur yang secara khusus membahas isu pendidikan yang menggambaran kekurangan unsur pendidikan formal serta juga solusi yang diambil oleh masyarakat atas ketertinggalan pendidikan berdasarkan konteks kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengungkapkan nilai pendidikan dalam aspek lokalitas masyarakat yang tercermin dalam film berlatar Indonesia Timur; 2) melakukan analisis data terhadap film-film Indonesia Timur dengan kontekstualisasi dan penelitian lain yang membahas isu tersebut. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah deskripsi konteks kearifan lokal dalam film-film Indnesia Timur. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah penmaknaan representasi lokalitas dalam film-film tersebut. Teknik penarikan simpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah induktif. Adapun langkah-langkah penelitian adalah: 1) mengamati dan mencatat film berlatar Indonesia Timur, khususnya mengenai representasi nilai pendidikan dalam lokalitas; 2) melakukan analisis dalam mengkorelasikan data film dengan kondisi kontekstual dan penelitian lain yang membahas isu tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) beberapa film yang berlatar di Indonesia Timur, memperlihatkan keterbatasan akses dan infrastruktur sehingga mereka memilih untuk mengambil inisiatif dalam dunia pendidikan seperti dalam hal gotong-royong membangun sekolah, guru sukarela, dan model pendidikan kontekstual; 2) kajian tentang kondisi pendidikan di Indonesia Timur memperlihatkan keterbatasan peran pemerintah terutama dalam infrastruktur dan ketersediaan guru yang berasal dari masyarakat setempat. Simpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan, kearifan lokal masyarakat Indonesia Timur, menjadi kontrol sekaligus nilai lebih atas keterbatasan akses pendidikan untuk masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

Perguruan tinggi sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang mendidik dan mencetak mahasiswa perlu melakukan pemahaman mendalam terkait tingkat keterampilan literasi digital mahasiswa agar dapat melakukan penyesuaian kurikulum dan strategi pembelajaran yang relevan dengan kebutuhan masa kini. Pentingnya keterampilan literasi digital menjadi tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan dan melihat dampak dari literasi digital pada pembelajaran di masa depan. Pendekatan penelitian yang peneliti gunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pendekatan dan metode ini digunakan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa tarbiyah UIN Madura. Sedangkan dampak dari literasi digital terhadap pembalajaran akan dibahas menggunakan metode analisis data sekunder yaitu hasil penelitian sebelumnya. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah mahasiswa tarbiyah UIN Madura dan teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu simple random sampling sehingga reponden penelitian berjumlah 48. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dengan instrumen penelitian form kuesioner secara digital yaitu google form. Kuesioner yang peneliti gunakan berdasarkan pada delapan komponen literasi digital untuk melihat tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa tingkat literasi digital pada ketujuh dimensi masuk pada kategori tinggi dan satu dimensi lainnya masuk dalam kategori cukup. Kontribusi literasi digital dalam pembelajaran diantaranya Peningkatan keterampilan, motivasi, dan minat belajar peserta didik, mempersiapkan peserta didik agar mampu menghadapi tantang dan peluang di era dominasi teknologi digital, menumbuhkembangkan keterampilan literasi melalui kemudahan akses informasi, dan meningkatkan kemampuan belajar secara mandiri baik formal dan informal.
