Abstract

The development of knowledge and technology significantly impacts literacy skills, essential for academic growth and school adaptation. Technology literacy is crucial for awareness and academic support, but a lack of technological knowledge can hinder education. To address this, the Indonesian government introduced the belajar.id platform, integrating Google Suite for Education (GSuite) to aid academic activities during the pandemic. Challenges like limited teacher-student interaction persist, necessitating the encouragement of electronic media and diverse educational material availability. They aimed to bridge teaching gaps, enhance technological skills, and ensure effective knowledge sharing, using participatory rural appraisal (PRA). The team of Research Group Data Information Knowledge and Engineering (RG DIKE) at the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta conducted a study on technology literacy's importance for students in SMP Negeri 2 Jaten Karanganyar. It emphasized technology's role in disaster management and prevention, striving for a strategic approach to technology-based education. Training sessions were conducted on August 15 and October 26, 2023, focused on belajar.id, GSE, and OBS integration. Teachers played a key role in guiding and updating their GSE and OBS knowledge. In summary, these sessions aimed to equip teachers and students with vital GSE and OBS skills, enhancing education quality and learning outcomes.

The method that the researcher used was qualititave descriptive method in which the researcher conducted observation interviews and documentation related to the problem. The results of the research show that many people still thinkthat mosques are only places of worship, even in the amplas sub-district of Medan city, religious studies, recitations are held, as well as various social and humanitarian activities such as donations and social service. Abstract

Prayer can serve as a valuable component of mathematical education, especially in Islamic schools, based on the constructivist learning theory. Utilizing community-based research methods, such as action and participatory research, fosters self-awareness and conflict resolution. Through prayer, students can engage in mathematical concepts like counting and multiplication by observing actions like bows and prostrations. Media supplements, such as a ball count, can enhance learning. Contextual notions of school mathematics are evident in prayer, such as adding and multiplying natural numbers, understanding sets, arithmetic sequences, and geometry concepts like lines, angles, and parallelism. For instance, the number of prayer units illustrates adding natural numbers, while the tahajjud prayer exemplifies multiples of two. Moreover, the congregation's rows during group prayer demonstrate line segments and parallel lines, while the standing position showcases various angles. These connections highlight the relationship between prayer and mathematics, offering unique insights into both disciplines. Integrating prayer into mathematical education not only enriches students' understanding but also fosters a holistic approach to learning.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are required to be agents of development, playing an active role in contributing to and transforming the field of economic empowerment and the quality of their resources. Many Islamic boarding schools have adapted and transformed into institutions that participate in economic empowerment efforts, but the programme only involves motivators and target groups without the involvement of the students, both cognitively and in terms of action. Thus, students must be empowered. Among the skills that students should be prepared with are those that will enable them to support the pesantren's economy and also add value for them when they return to society. The objective of this assistance is to enhance the understanding and awareness of students and pesantren on the significance of the creative industry for the advancement of pesantren and as a precursor for students after graduating from these educational institutions. Therefore, the research team/servant and the pesantren together explore the potential or assets that they have, develop appropriate programmes, and also evaluate the implemented programmes. The ABCD approach is a service methodology employed in this mentoring programme. This service technique is broadly divided into five stages: (1) Identification of community strengths; (2) Asset mapping of the community, (3) Planning the form of the mentoring programme; (4) programme implementation; (5) monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is conducted using the Most Significant Change (MSC) technique.

Abstract

This community service programme was conducted in Kedungsugo Village, Prambon District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. The programme identified several crucial problems: 1) Low parental awareness of children's growth and potential; 2) About 47% of the community is on the poverty line; 3) High school dropout rate at productive age; 4) Children working not in accordance with their expertise; 5) High divorce rate due to early marriage; 6) High risk of juvenile delinquency such as crime, alcohol, and drugs. The Doktor Mengabdi (KDM) group of Unisma Malang implemented this workshop programme using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, supported by data from the social services and village government. The aim is to overcome these crucial problems through increasing parents' awareness as the main driver of mindset change, optimising the role of parents, and increasing awareness of the importance of education for children and families. This effort aims to gradually reduce and eliminate problems such as school dropouts, early marriage, and juvenile delinquency. The benefits of this community service are in accordance with the needs of Kedungsugo Village and Unisma's vision and mission for global economic peace and equality, as well as supporting the government's SDGs programme which focuses on quality and equitable education and socio-economic development. The success of this community service can be seen from the enthusiasm of the community in participating in the programme and the positive response during the discussion, which is an indication of improving the quality of human resources as the main capital for change in the village.
