Abstract

The Smart Media Program in North Lampung was implemented to address low digital literacy and limited use of technology-based learning media among early childhood education (PAUD) teachers. This program aims to improve teachers' digital competence in developing educational videos, simple animations, and child-friendly educational games that align with the characteristics of early childhood learning. The program involved 25 PAUD teachers from institutions under the Harapan Umi Foundation and was implemented over six days through stages of socialization, training, workshops, mentoring, and evaluation. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The service results showed that teachers produced 42 digital learning products, including 18 educational videos, 14 simple animations, and 10 interactive educational games, which were directly implemented in classroom learning. The program improved teachers' technical skills, creativity, and confidence while fostering a more engaging, interactive learning environment. Improved focus, participation, and enthusiasm were observed in children, along with strengthened collaboration between teachers. These findings indicate that the Smart Media Program effectively improves the digital literacy and professional competence of PAUD teachers and offers a sustainable model for early childhood teacher development.

Abstract

Jakarta is one of the most polluted cities in Indonesia, which often exceeds safe health standards. Despite growing evidence linking air pollution to dermatological conditions, public knowledge and preventive behavior in urban communities remain limited and poorly addressed in community health programs. The objective of this program is to increase community knowledge about the effects of air pollution on skin health through a community-based education model that integrates pre-test and post-test assessments with practical activities. The program was conducted in three phases: pre-implementation, including material preparation and pretest-posttest assessment design; implementation, including a health education session and a practical workshop on micellar water formulation; and post-implementation, through evaluation and reporting. The activity was held on October 15, 2025, with 30 participants. Results showed a statistically significant improvement in participant knowledge, as measured by a paired t-test (p<0,05), with average scores increasing from 53.0 to 65.67. The assessment was conducted using a 10-question questionnaire before and after the activity. This activity highlights the potential of integrated educational and practical approaches to improve community understanding of environmental health risks and support the adoption of preventive self-care practices.

Abstract

While many empowerment programs focus solely on planting, this study integrates cultivation with the creation of innovative herbal products. The program involved six selected Dasawisma groups (Anggrek, Melati, and Mawar) in Nagari Lasi, Agam Regency. A Community-Based Research approach was conducted over eight months (July–December 2023), utilizing a structured questionnaire to measure knowledge and direct observation for skill assessment. Knowledge regarding TOGA cultivation and processing increased significantly by 82%. The groups successfully transformed harvests into innovative commercial products, including "Seduhan Lasi" (herbal drink), "Keripik Pegagan" (Centella chips), and "TomaLasi" (tomato dates). The program successfully shifted the community's role from passive producers to active micro-entrepreneurs, utilizing marketing strategies (4P) to enhance family economic resilience.

Abstract

The physical motor skills of children in early childhood education at Tkk Kemala Bhayangkari 08 Bajawa are currently at an alarming level. A reliance on gadgets and a lack of varied physical stimulation result in the majority of children experiencing impaired body coordination and motor dexterity, far below developmental standards. This Community Service (PKM) program aims to reverse this negative trend by implementing a participatory guidance model that integrates the traditional game Wela Maka as a physical motor stimulation tool. Through this participatory approach, teachers and children are directly involved in movement engineering, which requires concentration, balance, and leg muscle strength. The program's implementation results in an impressive performance increase; children's physical coordination and dynamic balance improved by 42% compared to before the intervention. Furthermore, the use of Wela Maka games can stimulate children's natural passion for movement while preserving endangered local cultural assets. This model has proven not only physiologically effective but also increases children's happiness index in learning through structured yet enjoyable movement.

Abstract

The issue addressed in this community service program is the high rate of domestic conflict in Batu City, particularly that caused by economic problems and infidelity, as well as the lack of local mediators capable of handling these cases with a comprehensive, appropriate approach to the community's socio-cultural context. This community service focuses on three main points: (1) Assistance in mediating domestic economic conflicts through the integration of family law and religious ethics; (2) Assistance in domestic reconciliation after infidelity based on legal justice and religious moral values; (3) Capacity building for family mediators with legal and religious knowledge. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), in which the service team collaboratively designs programs, provides direct assistance, and trains prospective mediators together with partners and community members in Batu City. The entire process involves beneficiaries actively participating in identifying needs, implementing activities, and evaluating results, ensuring that the interventions carried out are truly contextual and sustainable. The results of community services show success in three aspects. First, establishing an effective hybrid mediation model to resolve economic conflicts by combining legal certainty with spiritual peace. Second, the integrated legal-religious approach succeeded in opening a space for constructive dialogue for reconciliation or a more dignified separation in cases of infidelity. Third, the formation of a cadre of competent local family mediators who understand substantive law and are sensitive to religious values, ready to become agents of sustainable peace in their communities.

Abstract

Poverty remains a structural challenge in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas of East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan. The rapid growth of digital-based online gambling has increased socio-economic vulnerability among young people aged 15–24, especially students and out-of-school youth from low-income households with limited financial literacy. Data from the Central Kalimantan Financial Services Authority (OJK) show that the regional financial literacy index is only 32.73%, well below the national average, increasing exposure to risky financial behavior. This community service program offers a novel participatory approach by integrating Participatory Action Research (PAR) with Communication for Development (C4D). Unlike conventional one-way financial literacy initiatives, the program emphasizes youth empowerment and community-based communication. It is implemented as a six-month intervention in selected villages through three stages: participatory diagnosis, co-creation of financial literacy and online gambling prevention messages, and youth-led digital media campaigns. The program aims to support poverty alleviation by promoting behavioral change, financial resilience, and critical digital awareness among young people, while aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1; SDG 4, and SDG 8) and Indonesia’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy. Strategic partners include the Financial Services Authority (OJK), youth organizations, and local schools. Program impacts are measured through pre–post surveys and focus group discussions, indicating improved financial literacy, increased awareness of online gambling risks, and strengthened youth participation in participatory digital communication. Outputs include digital learning modules, school-based training, and youth-produced educational content

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the digital competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students at STAI Ibnurusyd, who served as the main participants and partners, through digital-based learning training to support Indonesia’s National Digital Education Transformation policy. The program was conducted at STAI Ibnurusyd, involving 30 PAI students, using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through pre–post questionnaires using a Likert scale to measure six indicators: understanding digital learning concepts, ability to use digital platforms, creativity in media design, digital literacy, collaborative attitudes, and innovation in microteaching practice, supported by observation and interview data. The results showed an average increase of 50% in participants’ scores across the six indicators, moving from the “moderate” to the “high” competence category. Students demonstrated improved ability to design interactive learning media using applications such as Google Classroom, Canva Edu, and Quizizz. The main outputs of this program include a digital learning training module, examples of interactive learning media products, and a practical implementation model that can be replicated in similar institutions. To support sustainability, a digital learning community was established among students to ensure continued practice and mentoring after the program. This program contributes to strengthening prospective PAI teachers' readiness to become professional educators with digital competence and supports innovation in Islamic higher education.

Abstract

Kebontunggul Village has significant potential for medicinal herbs that have not yet been fully utilized. This Community Partnership Empowerment (PKM) program aims to strengthen the capacity of BUMDes Gajah Mada in Kebontunggul Village to develop value-added herbal products derived from local resources. The program focuses on improving community knowledge, technical skills, and business management in herbal product development to support sustainable village economic activities. The program was implemented through several integrated activities, including socialization, training, and education on herbal processing, technology implementation for product packaging, and monitoring and evaluation to ensure program sustainability. The primary objective was to develop a ready-to-drink teak leaf tea product while establishing a more systematic stock management system for raw materials and finished products within the BUMDes. The results indicate a substantial improvement in participants’ knowledge, as reflected by the increase in training evaluation scores from 24.3 ± 13.8% before training to 97.2 ± 3.73% after training. The adoption of packaging technology and inventory management practices also enabled BUMDes to initiate the production of ready-to-drink teak leaf tea as a value-added herbal product. These outcomes demonstrate the potential of participatory community empowerment programs to strengthen village-based enterprises and enhance the economic value of local herbal resources

Abstract

This training was conducted to address the needs of MSMEs in Bojong Kulur Village, Bogor, regarding digital bookkeeping. Although MSME owners in Bojong Kulur Village had previously attended several accounting training sessions, MSMEs still faced obstacles in consistently recording financial transactions. The purpose of the activity is to introduce an Android-based bookkeeping application for MSMEs. The activity was carried out at the Bojong Kulur Village Hall. The method used is a presentation accompanied by practice using the SiApik Android application. In addition, a simulation using video recordings includes usage guidelines at the end of the activity, before participants fill out the activity evaluation. The training participants were 71 MSME owners. The purpose of this training is for each participant to record financial transactions using a free Android-based application consistently. The evaluation results showed that participants felt the benefits of using the SiApik application, and overall, the training activities were considered good. However, participants' suggestions indicated that they needed individual assistance in applying it to their companies. Another suggestion is that training on calculating production costs is necessary. This suggestion will be followed up on in the next activity.

Abstract

Se’i, a traditional smoked meat from East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, has a strong cultural identity and economic potential; however, its production still relies on conventional firewood, resulting in inconsistent quality, energy inefficiency, and unstable production costs. This study aims to implement an integrated empowerment model that combines green energy innovation, financial literacy, and digital marketing to strengthen the sustainability of se’i micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in Kupang City. The program was conducted using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach within a structured, integrated empowerment framework, including a baseline assessment, biomass briquette training and simulation, financial literacy workshops with SI-APIK digital bookkeeping implementation, digital marketing training, and a before–after evaluation. The results show a 22–28% reduction in fuel consumption per production cycle, improved stability of smoking temperature and product consistency, full adoption of simple financial reporting and cost-of-production calculation among partners, and increased digital engagement and transactions. The integration of biomass briquettes from Kesambi leaves, structured financial management, and data-driven digital marketing synergistically improved cost efficiency, managerial capacity, and market expansion. In conclusion, the integrated empowerment model effectively enhances production efficiency, financial transparency, and business competitiveness, offering a replicable framework for strengthening traditional food MSMEs through green innovation and digital transformation.
