Abstract

Nasyiatul 'Aisyiyah branch of Purwoharjo, Banyuwangi, as one of the autonomous organizations under Muhammadiyah, plays a significant role in community health development, particularly in disease prevention efforts. The main issue faced by the partners is the relatively low level of knowledge among community members, especially women of reproductive age (15–49 years), regarding cervical cancer and its prevention. The objective of this activity is to enhance partners' knowledge, to reduce mortality caused by cervical cancer. The implementation method of this Community Service Program (PKM) includes socialization, group discussions, and educational practices, specifically designed to encourage active understanding and participation among cadres and participants. This service activity is voluntary, so it is very important to see changes in women's attitudes or behaviors in the early detection of cervical cancer. This activity will be held on February 20-21, 2025. Indicate an increase in participants’ knowledge, with the number of respondents possessing good knowledge rising from 4 individuals (12,5%) to 26 individuals (81,25%) after the program. This demonstrates the effectiveness of group educational approaches in improving community understanding about cervical cancer and its prevention. This PKM program successfully increased the knowledge of Nasyiatul 'Aisyiyah cadres in Purwoharjo, Banyuwangi, regarding cervical cancer. Education through socialization, discussion, and practice has proven to be an effective approach to empowering community health. It can serve as a sustainable strategy to reduce the incidence and mortality rates of cervical cancer. High knowledge can change an individual's behavior to engage in activities that are beneficial to their health.

Abstract

This mentoring program aimed to enhance principals’ and teachers’ understanding and practical skills in implementing the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, thereby fostering a quality culture grounded in Islamic values. The program was motivated by the low level of SPMI understanding and implementation in schools in North Lampung Regency, where PAI learning had largely been administrative and had not sufficiently addressed students’ character and value development. The activity was designed as a participatory, mentoring-based community service program involving 10 school principals and 25 PAI teachers from six public secondary schools, and was conducted over three months. The mentoring was implemented through four stages: socialization of SPMI and the PPEPP cycle, technical training on quality-based learning documents, field mentoring during classroom implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of SPMI and the PPEPP cycle. Teachers were able to develop value-based learning documents, apply reflective learning strategies, and implement character-oriented evaluation, while principals demonstrated stronger leadership as drivers of school quality culture. This mentoring also strengthened collaboration among principals, teachers, and supervisors in implementing an integrative and contextual SPMI. In the long term, this program contributes to the development of a sustainable quality assurance system for Islamic education. It offers a replicable mentoring model for other regions with similar educational contexts

Abstract

This community service study aims to develop an innovative religious literacy–based model to strengthen religious moderation among students at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam (STAI) Ibnurusyd Lampung. The program involved 60 undergraduate students and 5 lecturers, who served as facilitators and co-researchers. It was implemented through structured educational activities, including religious literacy training, cross-perspective discussion forums, and reflective writing workshops. These activities were designed to address students’ limited cross-perspective understanding of religion and tendencies toward exclusive interpretations. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, positioning students and lecturers as active participants in collaborative learning and reflective action. The PAR cycle was conducted over three months and consisted of problem identification, participatory planning, action implementation, observation, and reflective evaluation. Program outcomes were measured using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, interviews, participatory observation, and reflective journals. Quantitative results show an average increase of 32% in students’ understanding of religious moderation, particularly in tolerance, balance (tawazun), justice (i‘tidal), and openness to differences. Qualitative findings indicate positive attitudinal shifts, including increased empathy, greater inclusivity, and enhanced collaboration. The program developed an innovative, religious literacy–based model that integrates cognitive, affective, and practical dimensions, reflecting a collaborative approach and potential replicability in other Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a strategic role not only in transmitting religious knowledge but also in strengthening character, moral values, and socio-economic awareness. However, its implementation often faces challenges, particularly the limited collaboration between schools, communities, and the business sector, which reduces its broader social impact. This community service study aims to develop a collaborative school–community–business model to strengthen IRE implementation and to evaluate its impact on participants’ understanding and commitment to integrated religious, social, and economic development. The program applied a participatory and collaborative approach involving IRE teachers, students, community leaders, and business representatives. Activities were conducted over three months in school and community settings through several stages, including needs assessment, discussion forums, capacity-building training, program implementation, and evaluation. The collaborative initiatives included religious and social activities, mosque- and school-based Islamic economic empowerment programs, and educational facility support from business partners. The results show a significant improvement in IRE implementation. Evaluation data indicate that 76% of IRE teachers reported increased confidence and competence in applying socially integrated IRE, while 71% of students demonstrated improved understanding of the relationship between religious teachings and socio-economic practices. In addition, four collaborative programs were successfully established, including a productive zakat initiative, a school-based Islamic cooperative, joint religious–social activities, and business-supported educational facilities. These findings demonstrate that the collaborative model effectively strengthens IRE as an integrative and sustainable framework for community-based Islamic education.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen the professional capacity of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in developing the Operational Curriculum for Educational Units (KOSP) based on the Independent Curriculum in North Lampung Regency. This activity was motivated by teachers' limited ability to compile KOSP documents, Learning Objective Flows (ATP), and contextual teaching modules aligned with the principles of independent learning. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was implemented as a participatory mentoring model, positioning PAI teachers as active partners throughout the problem identification, implementation, reflection, and evaluation processes. This program involved PAI teachers from 20 educational units and was implemented through structured activities, including socialization, interactive training, collaborative KOSP and ATP workshops, ongoing mentoring, and joint reflection. The results of the community service demonstrated improvements in teachers' curriculum development practices, as participants were able to produce school-based KOSP documents, design systematic ATP aligned with learning outcomes, and develop contextual and differentiated PAI teaching modules tailored to student characteristics and the local context. In addition, the mentoring process fostered increased self-confidence, collaboration, and reflective awareness. The uniqueness of this activity lies in the PAR-based mentoring design, which emphasizes active involvement, collaborative learning, and sustainability.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy remains a major public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas where maternal knowledge and adherence to iron supplementation are still limited. In Petaling Banjar Village, preliminary observations revealed persistent cases of anemia and limited access to structured nutrition education for pregnant women—this community engagement aimed to improve maternal understanding of anemia through audiovisual education and interactive dialogue. The program was conducted in Petaling Banjar Village using an integrated approach that comprised video presentations, booklet distribution, and open discussions, involving 17 pregnant women who actively participated in sharing their experiences and asking questions. Evaluation was performed by comparing pretest and posttest knowledge scores using descriptive analysis and a paired t-test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 87.1 to 96.5, with a p-value of 0.000 indicating a significant difference. Media-based and participatory education proved effective in enhancing maternal knowledge and raising awareness of anemia prevention. These findings underscore the importance of context-based and participatory community education in supporting sustainable maternal and child health outcomes.

Abstract

Durian, as a significant cultural and economic asset in Rembang Regency, the project engages a farmers' group to enhance seedling production and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Through a series of workshops and training sessions, participants gain hands-on experience in nursery management, propagation techniques, and organic farming methods. This initiative aims not only to improve the quality and yield of Criwick’s local durian seedlings but also to create economic opportunities within the community. By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, the project empowers local farmers to establish nurseries and increase their income potential. Additionally, the initiative emphasizes the importance of preserving traditional cultivation practices to ensure the sustainability of Criwick’s local durian varieties. The project ultimately demonstrates Criwick’s local durian nursery, which consists of seed germination, preparation of nursery media, fertilization, and maintenance. Through these community services, it is expected to provide high-quality Criwick’s local durian seedlings.  Criwick’s local durian seedlings can be used by the community for their own needs or sold. Revitalize the local economy, enhance agricultural resilience, and strengthen community ties. By investing in Criwick’s local durian seedling cultivation, this initiative aims to create lasting economic benefits and support the region's cultural heritage.

Abstract

The limited capacity to write books based on local wisdom in Mandailing Natal Regency presents a serious challenge to literacy development and cultural preservation. Despite its rich cultural heritage and strong traditional values, much of this local wisdom remains undocumented in professionally published books. Many community members, including educators, lack adequate skills in manuscript writing and publishing. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to enhance the ability of teachers and the wider community in Mandailing Natal Regency to write and publish ISBN-registered books that focus on local wisdom and cultural heritage. The program provides participants with theoretical knowledge and practical skills covering the entire book-writing process, including idea development, data collection, manuscript writing, editing, layout design, publishing procedures, ISBN registration, copyright, and ethical writing. The training employed lectures, discussions, case studies, and hands-on practice supported by intensive mentoring from experienced facilitators. Conducted over four weeks, the program involved 60 participants, comprising students, university students, teachers, librarians, and literacy activists. The results showed meaningful outcomes: all participants produced draft manuscripts related to Mandailing Natal local wisdom, and 18 drafts met publication standards and were compiled into one ISBN-registered book. Evaluation results also revealed a 30% increase in average pretest and posttest scores, indicating an improvement in understanding and writing competence. Overall, the program makes a positive contribution to strengthening literacy and preserving local wisdom in the Mandailing Natal Regency.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve lecturers’ competence in developing a local wisdom-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) quality assurance module at STAI Ibnurusyd Kotabumi. The program employed a participatory mentoring approach involving 10 participants, consisting of PAI lecturers, the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), study program leaders, and a local community representative. Activities were conducted through socialization, training, workshops, intensive mentoring, and evaluation, with data collected using participant observation, interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed qualitatively. The main problem addressed was the existing quality assurance module, which was normative, culturally non-contextual, and lacked operational quality indicators. The results showed an increase in lecturers’ conceptual understanding of local wisdom-based quality assurance, reflected in the successful formulation of contextual quality indicators integrating values of cooperation, deliberation, politeness, and religiosity. The main output of the program was a locally developed, wisdom-based PAI quality assurance module, validated by LPM. Practically, the module serves as an institutional reference for planning, implementing, and evaluating PAI learning, strengthens lecturers’ professionalism, and supports the development of a culturally responsive quality culture in Islamic higher education, particularly in the socio-cultural context of North Lampung.
