Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran project based learning pada materi hukum-hukum dasar kimia di kelas XA SMA Negeri 2 Langowan. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas XA SMA Negeri 2 Langowan tahun pelajaran 2022/2023 semester genap berjumlah 24 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri atas observasi, dokumentasi dan instrumen tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan data hasil tes dan data observasi kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian, ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa yang memperoleh nilai ≥75 sebesar 91,667% dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan hasil observasi aktivitas siswa memperoleh nilai ≥80 dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning pada materi hukum-hukum dasar kimia dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the flipped classroom learning model on student learning outcomes in the reaction rate material at Karitas Catholic High School, Tomohon. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes. namely the experimental class which was given treatment using the flipped classroom learning model and the control class which used the direct learning model. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test in the form of a pretest and posttest of 20 questions. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class was 77.29 which was higher than the control class with an average of 69.58 which was continued with a t-test assisted by the SPSS 27 application, obtained a significant level value of 0.002 <α (0.05). In addition, the N-Gain test showed that the average increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class reached 78.14% and was included in the high category. Therefore, this study shows a significant influence and improvement on student learning outcomes by using the flipped classroom learning model on reaction rate material at Karitas Catholic High School, Tomohon, compared to direct learning methods.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan media pembelajaran PhET terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada dimensi kecerdasan visual spasial dan kecerdasan logis matematis dalam pembelajaran kimia pada materi termokimia di SMA Negeri 9 Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis pra-ekperimen dan desain one group pretest-posttest. Instrumen pada penelitian ini yaitu tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Data hasil belajar dianalisis dengan uji normalitas, uji paired sample t-test, uji n-gain, dan uji effect size Cohen. Hasil penelitian untuk uji n-gain menunjukkan rata-rata skor n-gain sebesar 83,16% dan tergolong dalam kategori efektif dengan effect size Cohen sedang sebesar 0,69. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan media pembelajaran PhET efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada dimensi kecerdasan visual spasial dan kecerdasan logis matematis dalam pembelajaran kimia pada materi termokimia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran kimia dengan mengusung pendekatan kontekstual pada materi ikatan kimia. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah 4-D Thiagarajan dengan tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), serta penyebaran (disseminate). Pada tahap pendefinisian, dilakukan analisis awal, analisis kebutuhan peserta didik, analisis tugas, analisis konsep, serta analisis tujuan pembelajaran. Informasi dari tahap ini digunakan untuk merancang media pembelajaran. Media dirancang menggunakan PowerPont, dikonversi ke format HTML5 dengan HTML5Point, dan diubah menjadi file APK menggunakan Web APK 2 Builder. Hasilnya adalah aplikasi pembelajaran bernama “Ikatan Kimia”. Pada tahap pengembangan, dilakukan validasi dan uji coba terbatas menggunakan instrumen penilaian dari Sriadhi. Berdasarkan uji validitas, media memperoleh skor rata-rata 4,72 untuk aspek isi materi dan 4,25 untuk aspek konstruksi media, sehingga mendapat kategori “Sangat Layak” untuk diujicobakan. Uji coba terbatas menunjukkan respon positif dari guru dan peserta didik, dengan skor rata-rata keseluruhan masing-masing sebesar 4,83 dan 4,54 yang termasuk dalam kategori akseptansi “Sangat Tinggi”. Pada tahap penyebaran, aplikasi dibagikan kepada guru kimia farmasi di SMK Yadika Manado melalui Google Drive dan WhatsApp. Dengan demikian, aplikasi “Ikatan Kimia” layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran kontekstual pada materi ikatan kimia.

Abstract

Oil is a triglyceride compound that is liquid at room temperature. Oil can experience changes in aroma and taste during storage. To overcome the damage to the oil, neutralization is carried out. Neutralization is a process to break free fatty acids from oil or fat, by reacting free fatty acids with bases or other reagents, thus forming soap (soap stock) with the aim of purifying oil, reducing residual gum, improving taste, and reducing darkness from the oil. Neutralization can be done in various ways, namely by using alkali, sodium carbonate, ammonia, or by using steam. This study aims to determine the optimum concentration of whiting solution in neutralizing free fatty acids. Neutralization was carried out with several concentrations, namely 10%, 12%, 14%, 16%, 18%, 20%. The test parameters in this study were free fatty acid content, acid number, peroxide value and water content. Based on the results obtained the optimum concentration was 16% with free fatty acids 0.1781, acid number 0.25, peroxide number 4.39, water content 0.39.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital textbook based on multiple representations on chemical bonding as a digital learning resource for 10th-grade high school students. Product development was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. Product validation involved media experts, material experts, and field trials with students using a Likert scale questionnaire instrument of 1–5. The assessment results showed that the digital textbook received a "Very Good" category from media experts (86.23%), material experts (85.20%), and student responses (94.35%). This digital textbook integrates three levels of chemical representation: macroscopic (real phenomena), microscopic (particle structures), and symbolic (chemical equations) through interactive features such as molecular animations, simulations, explanatory videos, and evaluation quizzes. The product meets the standards of the Independent Curriculum, has an intuitive user interface, and can be accessed across multiple devices. In conclusion, this digital textbook based on multiple representations is suitable for use as a digital learning resource for 10th-grade high school students on chemical bonding.
