Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) Types of mistakes made by students in solving statistical problems. (2) Factors that cause students to make mistakes. The type of research used is qualitative research, which uses descriptive research methodology. Research subjects are all students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 08 Tanjung Jabung East with the number of students 61 people. From all students of class XI IPA will be selected 4 people as informant. The data collected in this research are observation, diagnostic test of satistical description, and interview to students who made the most mistake and varied. The errors are done students in solving math problems on the subject statistics are analyzed by type of concept error, data use error, engineering error, language interpretation error, conclusion withdrawal error. The results showed that students make mistakes in solving statistical problems. The types of errors are concept errors, data use errors, technical errors and errors of inference. And the biggest mistake is the concept mistake. The factors that cause these mistakes are the students are less mastering the material, students are less thorough, students in haste and students dont understand the steps of completion.Keywords: Error Analysis, Problem Solving, Statistics

Abstract

Students' mathematical communication skills are still unsatisfactory, the average student error shows an error in expressing daily events in the language of mathematics. This is due to a lack of student understanding of the material that has been taught, and the level of students' creativity in recording important concepts contained in the content of the subject matter is still not satisfactory, student records tend to be still boring. The purpose of this study are: (1) to describe the implementation of mind mapping in the scientific approach to improve students' mathematical communication skills, and (2) describe the results of the assessment of mathematical communication skills that occur in students after learning is done with mind mapping in the scientific approach. The type of research that the author is doing is included in classroom action research (CAR). The author uses interview, observation, test and documentation methods. As for the analysis, the author uses descriptive qualitative analysis techniques, namely in the form of qualitative data and quantitative data that the author obtained during direct observation in the field. The research findings show that the application of mind mapping in the scientific approach can improve mathematical communication skills in students of Jambi City Vocational High School 9. (1) The process of implementing mind mapping with a scientific approach to improve students' mathematical communication skills can run smoothly as planned. The application of mind mapping has provided new experiences for students and teachers and provides several benefits, the benefits of mind mapping obtained include: students become the spirit of learning, students easily remember lessons and students gain drawing experience to find the relationship between one concept and another concept and the teacher easier to explain the subject matter to students; (2) on the assessment of students 'mathematical communication skills, from quantitative data the acquisition of scores on students' mathematical communication obtained a high enough value, namely in the first cycle the average value obtained was 75.87 or around 77.2%, in the second cycle there was an increase namely 80.1 or around 87.1%.Keywords: Mind Mapping, scientific approach, and mathematical communication skills

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to know effect of the type of collaborative learning send-a-problem the resuldt of learning mathematics student. The kind of this research was pre-experiment and the design of this research used randomized control group only design. The population of this research was all of students grade XI MIA SMAN 1 Padang Sago academic year of 2017/2018. The sample was class XI MIA2 as experimental and XI MIA1 as control class. The result that analyzed in this research the result of cognitif learning and affective learning. The technique of analyze data that used to hypothesis testing was the analyse of similarity analysis of two on average by using the t-test because normal data distribution and data group that have a homogen variance on cognitif learning and the analyse of similarity analysis of the two parties by using the z-test on affective learning. Based on the analysis of the data, it can said that the students who taught by guided discovery with concret method and had mean score greater (77,94) then student who were tough by convensional method (71,17). After test done so, it get calculate tcalc = 3,33 and ttable = 1,689 (tcalc > ttable) at significance level of 0,05 with confidence level 95%. Based on calculation show that tcalculate > ttabel means H0 rejected and H1 accepted, so it can be concluted that the type of collaborative learning send-a-problem the resuldt of learning mathematics student.Keywords: Colaboratif, Send-a-problem

Abstract

Pembelajaran geometri perlu menggunakan model dan software yang sesuai untuk mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Salah satunya adalah dengan model SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) yang dipadukan dengan penggunaan software Geometer’s Sketchpad.  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang belajar di kelas pembelajaran Model SAVI dengan Geometer’s Sketchpad dan mahasiswa yang belajar di kelas pembelajaran pembelajaran Model SAVI tanpa Geometer’s Sketchpad. Metode penelitian yang dilaksanakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pretest-postest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Kelas geometri FKIP matematika sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas geometri MIPA matematika sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes KPMM pada materi geometri. Berdasarkan uji t diperoleh nilai sig. (2-tailed) yaitu 0,002 dan menunjukkan kurang dari 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak, dapat disimpulkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara data N-gain KPMM yang belajar di kelas pembelajaran Model SAVI dengan Geometer’s Sketchpad dan mahasiswa yang belajar di kelas pembelajaran pembelajaran Model SAVI tanpa Geometer’s Sketchpad.Kata kunci :Geometer’s Sketchpad, Pemecahan masalah, model SAVI.

Abstract

Abstract: This thesis was a research and development (R&D). This research aimed to produce products in the form of Mathematics Student Worksheet based on the guided discovery on the space curved side building seen from the criteria, practicality, effectiveness and validity. This research referred to the model of ADDIE development which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subject of this research was the students of class IX SMP N 31 Kab. Tebo. The instruments used in this research were (a) validation sheet for the material expert, media expert and design expert to determine the validity of Student Worksheet, (b) questionnaire of student response to determine the practicality of the Student Worksheet and (c) pre-test and post-test function to determine the effectiveness of Student Worksheet.The results of the research showed that the Student-Based Student Worksheet were guided in the space curved side building of the Class XI students belonging to the good category seen from the validation of the expert who got the average score of 4.2, belonging to the practical category seen from the questionnaire of the response of the students who obtained the average score of 4.4 and classified as effectively seen from the results of the calculation of the difference between pre-test and post-test with the value of t arithmetic was 15.4 and the value of t table was 2.03. In this case, t arithmetic> t table then Ho received.Keywords: Development, Student Worksheet, Guided Discovery.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL )  lebih tinggi dari pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran Take and Give pada kelas VIII SMPN 11 Kota Jambi tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang berjumlah 105 siswa Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP N 11 Kota Jambi Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling dan yang terambil adalah kelas VIII A dan VIII C, dimana kedua kelas sampel ini diberikan perlakuan berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan rata-rata hasil post-test siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran Take and Give dengan model pembelajaran Problem based Learning pada pokok bahasan Aljabar. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan skor rata-rata untuk kelas eksperimen adalah 75,81 dengan simpangan baku 12,02 dan kelas kontrol rata-ratanya 69 dengan simpangan baku 10,13. Serta dari hasil uji hipotesisnya diperoleh t_hitung yaitu 2,18 dan t tabel yaitu 1,68 pada taraf nyata α yaitu 0,05. Dari hasil perhitungan itu terlihat bahwa t_hitung  lebih besar dari t tabel maka Ho ditolak dan H1  diterima. Berdasarkan hasil akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL)  lebih baik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa daripada model pembelajaran Take and Give siswa kelas kelas VIII SMN 11 Kota Jambi. Kata kunci :Pemahaman Konsep Matematis ; Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL); Model Pembelajaran Take and Give

Abstract

The aim of this research is to provide any chances for students to involve actively in thinking process and learning activities. In this case, the learning process is mainly centered on students that is to learn the teaching materials and do the discussion to solve the problem on studies, thus, finally they can improve students grade. The learning cooperative Model, Numbered Heads Together, is a type of cooperative learning which emphasized on the special structure that is designed to influence the student interaction pattern and aiming to increase the academic control. Based on the result of this research conclude that through the Mann-Whitney on  α = 0,05 test, as a whole, high and low group, found that as entirety is not differed much significant between the experimental class that is used the  Numbered Heads Together method and control class that is used the conventional method. Abstract

Setiap siswa unik. Mereka hadir dengan karakteristik yang berbeda. Guru sebagai pemimpin dalam proses pembelajaran, dituntut agar dapat merangkul perbedaan karakteristik tersebut dan mengembangkan potensi yang dimiliki oleh setiap siswa. Sehingga, tidak ada siswa yang bodoh. Hanya saja mereka belum menemukan cara belajar yang tepat untuk mengembangkan potensinya. Salah satu cara yang memastikan bahwa semua siswa belajar adalah melalui Differentiated Instruction (DI). DI adalah suatu pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan siswa dengan tujuan untuk memaksimalkan potensi setiap siswa. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menghasilkan suatu produk berupa Media pembelajaran matematika Menggunakan Adobe Flash Cs6 Dengan Pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning Pada Materi Garis Dan Sudut Kelas VII. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah (1) angket evaluasi ahli media, (2) angket evaluasi ahli desain, (3) angket evaluasi ahli materi, dan (4) angket respon siswa. Uji coba dilakukan dalam 3 tahap yaitu uji coba perorangan, uji coba kelompok kecil, dan ujicoba lapangan. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah 26 siswa kelas VII D SMP N 6 Kota Jambi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) menghasilkan media pembelajaran Matematika Menggunakan Adobe Flash Cs6 Dengan Pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning Pada Materi Garis Dan Sudut, (2) kualitas media pembelajaran dilihat dari aspek kevalidan media pembelajaran dari ahli media sebesar 77,89% dengan kategori valid, ahli desain sebesar 82,66% dengan kategori valid, dan ahli desain sebesar 84% dengan kategori valid. Kualitas media pembelajaran dilihat dari aspek kepraktisan media pembelajaran dilihat dari penilaian respon siswa pada uji perorangan sebesar 83,33%, pada uji kelompok kecil sebesar 81,56%, dan pada pada uji lapangan sebesar 80,35% dengan kategori praktis. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka media pembelajaran Matematika Menggunakan Adobe Flash Cs6 Dengan Pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning Pada Materi Garis Dan Sudut  yang dikembangkan sangat layak digunakan sebagai referensi bahan ajar dalam proses pembelajaran. Kata Kunci : ADDIE ; Adobe Flash Cs6; Contextual Teaching and Learning; Garis dan Sudut; Media Pembelajaran.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by low students' critical thinking ability. This is caused by the ineffectiveness of learning in the classroom in the learning process with conventional model while the students who receive it more passive and afraid to express the assumption because they think that math is hard to learn. So teachers need to apply a fun learning system and more real in improving the ability to think critically by using Realistic Mathematics Education Approach (RME) to help critical thinking of students to be more critical. This research is an experimental research. The population in this research is all students of class VII SMPN 2 Kota Jambi Academic Year 2017/2018. Sampling using Random Sampling technique, which is taken class VII A and VII D where two classes are given different treatment. This study aims to determine the difference of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to critical thinking skills of the seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Kota Jambi, the subject of the set. Based on Post-test results can be seen that the critical thinking ability of students of class VIIIA (experiment) SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi on the set material, the average value is 76.84 with standard deviation 6.96 whereas in class VIIID (Control) average of 72.75 with standard deviation of 11.64. Based on these calculations there is a difference between the experimental class and the control class, this is the influence of the approach of Realistic Mathematics Edication (RME).Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Approach, Student Critical Thinking Ability
