Abstract

The research aimed to know lettuce production from the polybag cultivation system and the farming's business feasibility (R/C ratio). The research was conducted using the Action Method. Data collection is done by observation. To answer the purpose of knowing the production of lettuce using the polybag system, 200 polybags were used containing mixed media of soil, manure, and rice husk (2: 1: 1). Polybags are laid out with a spacing between polybags of 20 cm x 30 cm. The results showed that this study's average fresh weight of lettuce was 66.67 g per tree/polybag, so the total production of two hundred polybags produced 13.33 kg. or 2.2 tonnes per ha, is good enough. The polybag lettuce cultivation system is feasible because it has an R/C ratio value = 1.27.

Abstract

One of the people's choices in West Tulabolo Village is to create new jobs by running a beef cattle business to support the village economy. The objectives of this research are (1) to understand the process of cultivating beef cattle, (2) to analyze costs, income, and revenues, and (3) to analyze the feasibility of beef cattle farming in various levels of ownership in West Tulabolo Village. This research used a sample of 27 beef cattle breeders using a saturated sampling technique. This research uses primary data sources and secondary data. Apart from that, the types of data used include qualitative and quantitative data. Data collection methods use surveys, interviews, and literature studies. The research results show that (1) the process of cultivating beef cattle starts from preparation, breeding, maintenance and enlargement, fattening (2) the income received from a scale of 1-2 heads to more than 5 heads is IDR 17.929.425 to IDR 63.137.959 and (3) the beef cattle farming business in West Tulabolo Village is said to be feasible based on the results of the R/C and B/C analysis which shows >1.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana berbagai jenis kotoran ternak yang digunakan untuk media budidaya ternak maggot (Hermetia illucens ) berdampak pada produksi maggot. Studi ini dilakukan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) empat perlakuan dengan lima ulangan. Perlakuan A mengandung 50% kotoran ayam pedaging dan 50% ampas tahu, Perlakuan B mengandung 50% kotoran ayam petelur dan 50% ampas tahu, Perlakuan C mengandung 50 % kotoran sapi dan 50 5 ampas tahu, serta Perlakuan D mengandung 50% kotoran babi dan 50% ampas tahu. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah  berat maggot, panjang maggot dan produksi maggot Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan berbagai jenis kotoran ternak sebagai media budidaya terhadap produksi maggot (Hermetia illucens) tidak berdampak pada berat, panjang, dan produksi maggot.

Abstract

The business of growing eggplant plants is still traditional in Indonesia and does not involve a great deal of intensive cultivation, particularly when it comes to the application of fertilizers to support the growth and yield of eggplant plants. As a result, eggplant plant production is low there. Using the right dose of fertilizer can also help increase production yields. The primary purpose of fertilizer is to provide or add nutrients to the soil that may only be present in trace amounts or not at all. Natural chicken compost and inorganic phosphate manures contain different kinds of supplements and substances required by plants. Consequently, it is important to find the proper portion used to acquire ideal development and yield of eggplant plants. Research Targets To decide the portion of chicken compost and phosphate manure on the development and yield of eggplant (Solanum malongena L). to ascertain how the growth and yield of eggplant (Solanum malongena L) are affected by the dosages of phosphate fertilizer and chicken manure, as well as the optimal interaction between the two substances. In this study, the experimental design was a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two treatment factors: Factor I: Dosage of chicken manure (A) consisted of 3 levels, namely: = Kontrol,   = 4 kg/plot (6 ton/ha),  = 6 kg/plot (8 ton/ha).  Factor II:  =  Kontrol,  = 4,5 g/plot,  = 9,0 g/plo, = 13,5 g/plot.  Chicken manure dosage varied significantly depending on plant height, primary branch count, sample planting fruit count, sample planting production, and plot production. A2 (6 kg/plot) was the most effective dose of chicken manure in this study. The dosage of phosphate fertilizer was significantly different for plant height, primary branch count, sample planting fruit count, sample crop production, and plot production. P3 (13.5 g/plot) was the NPK fertilizer dose that performed the best in this study. There was no significant difference in plant height, primary branch count, sample planting fruit count, sample crop production, or production per plot between cow manure and phosphate fertilizer doses.

Abstract

White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a perishable food ingredient. The purpose of this study was to determine the total plate count in white oyster mushrooms during storage with MAP. This study consisted of two stages of the process, the first stage was sample preparation and the second stage was the analysis of the total plate count and the determination of the reaction order. The results showed that the TPC in white oyster mushrooms stored in MAP with PE plastic and the addition of 30% CO2, storage temperature of 10oC on day 0 to 10 days of storage was increase of 3.34 – 11.49 log cfu/mg. White oyster mushrooms stored for 24 hours (day 1) experienced a significant increase in TPC of 6.32 log cfu/mg. Changes in TPC of white oyster mushrooms during storage under MAP conditions at 100C tended to increase.

Abstract

Sonneratia ovata is a mangrove fruit that has a distinctive aroma and sour taste, making it suitable for processing into jam. Slice jam is a modified form of spreadable jam that is more practical in serving. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of drying time on the consumer acceptance of Sonneratia ovata slice jam. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with different drying times for slice jam (120 minutes, 150 minutes, 180 minutes and 210 minutes) and three replications. Data analysis using Kruskal-Wallis, if there is a different between the treatment continued by the Multiple Comparisons test. The results showed that the drying time had a significant effect (p<0.05) on the consumer acceptance of Sonneratia ovata slice jam. 210 minutes of drying time (P4) is the best treatment based on the hedonic test value of appearance, aroma, taste, texture and overall parameters. Panelists like the appearance of Sonneratia ovata slice jam, which has brown reddish color and compact texture, but panelists dislike the smell and the sour taste of slice jam.

Abstract

 This study aimed to determine the effect of adding banana flour with different levels on the physical-chemical quality of beef meatballs. This study used a Completely Randomized Design with five treatments, namely P0 (beef meatballs with 100% tapioca flour), P1 (beef meatballs with 95% tapioca flour and 5% banana flour), P2 (beef meatballs of 90% tapioca flour and 10% banana flour), P3 (beef meatballs with 85% tapioca flour and 15% banana flour), and P4 (beef meatballs with 80% tapioca flour and 20% banana flour). The study showed no significant differences in beef meatballs' pH, water, protein, and fat content with adding banana flour at different levels (P>0.05). The best results for beef meatballs with banana flour were obtained at 85% tapioca flour and 15% banana flour as fillers.

Abstract

Mangroves are transitional ecosystems between land and sea where their growth is influenced by the presence of sediment, salinity, temperature, pH, DO, and other environmental factors. One of the functions of mangroves is to play a role in the absorption or binding heavy metals. The aims of this study were (1) to determine the content of heavy metals Cu and Pb in waters and soil (sediment), (2) to determine the content of heavy metals Cu and Pb in the roots and leaves of Avicennia marina , (3) to determine the effect of differences in soil texture (sediment) on the absorption of heavy metals Cu and Pb in the mangrove Avicennia marina and (4) to determine the percentage of absorption of Avicennia marina on heavy metals Cu and Pb in the coastal waters of Sungai Bakau Village. The research design was carried out using a single factor CRD (Completely Randomized Design) with differences in soil texture (sediment) on the absorption of heavy metals Cu and Pb in Avicennia marina in the coastal waters of Sungai Bakau Village. The results showed that the heavy metal content of Cu in the waters was 0.027 ppm and 0.131 ppm Pb, while in the soil (sediment) the heavy metal Cu was 1.475 ppm and the heavy metal Pb was 6.560 ppm. Cu content of heavy metal in mangrove roots was 14.223 ppm and heavy metal Pb was 1.270 ppm, while in mangrove leaves heavy metal Cu 8.607 ppm and heavy metal Pb 0.577 ppm. Differences in soil texture (sediments) have a significant effect on the absorption of heavy metals Cu and Pb in the Avicennia marina mangroves in the coastal waters of Sungai Bakau Village. The absorption percentage of Avicennia marina mangrove uptake of heavy metals Cu and Pb in the coastal waters of Sungai Bakau Village shows that uptake of heavy metal Cu is higher than uptake of heavy metal Pb.

Abstract

Penurunan kesuburan tanah, produktivitas tanaman, dan pencemaran lingkungan semuanya dapat disebabkan oleh penggunaan pupuk anorganik yang terus menerus. Pupuk formulasi KALAM adalah kombinasi berbagai bahan organik yang digunakan untuk pengolahan limbah rumah tangga. Dengan berbagai bahan, pupuk ini dapat meningkatkan hasil panen tanaman dan mendukung pertanian berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pupuk formulasi mempengaruhi hasil panen cabai rawit. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 5x5 dengan tiga kali pengulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengunaan pupuk formulasi KALAM pada tanaman cabai rawit memberikan hasil terbaik pada perlakukan P1 (80 gram kompos + 3 mL air lindi + 80 gram arang kayu + 20 gram abu bakaran + 8 mL MOL bonggol pisang) dengan hasil rata-rata bobot perbuah adalah 3,3 gram. Formulasi pupuk yang digunakan juga mampu meningkatkan kandungan P total.

Abstract

Proper nutrition will help increase productivity, on the other hand, an imbalance of nutrients can cause damage to plants. Hydroponic cultivation is expected to play a role in saving the use of nutrients more effectively. The combination of amino acids and vitamin B1 was given at different concentrations (0, 10, 20, and 30 mL/L) respectively. Measurements included plant height (cm), weight (gram), diameter (mm), and fruit flesh thickness (mm) as well as the total sugar content (Brix). Results showed that increasing the concentration did not significantly affect the response. The results of the LSD test showed that the addition of amino acid and vitamin B1 at doses of 10 mL/L was significantly different for the fruit diameter, explaining that increasing the dose of nutrients does not always have the best impact. Thus, the addition of a combination of amino acids and vitamin B1 for melon cultivation can be given at it lowest dose (10 mL/L).
