Abstract

Kepok Timbatu bananas are a local food source that is not yet popular in the community. These bananas are rich in nutrients and contain high levels of starch. However, they are rarely cultivated and not widely found, resulting in a limited supply of planting materials. Therefore, propagation through in vitro culture, particularly during the subculture stage, is necessary. This study aimed to determine the best kinetin concentration for the in vitro growth of Kepok Timbatu banana subcultures. The study was designed a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, testing kinetin concentrations in MS medium at four levels: k1 = 3 mg L-1, k2 = 5 mg L-1, k3 = 7 mg L-1, and k4 = 9 mg L-1. Observations in this study include time of browning appearance, browning percentage (1-6 weeks after subculture), time of shoot emergence, number of shoots (1-6 weeks after subculture), time of root emergence, number of roots (3-6 weeks after subculture), number of leaves (3-6 weeks after subculture), and shoot height. The results showed that the kinetin concentration did not significant effect on all observed variables.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effects of fermented water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica forsk) flour supplementation on super-native chickens' carcasses and digestive organs. The material utilized consisted of water spinach flour subjected to 14 days of anaerobic fermentation, which was then incorporated into the diet. The experimental design employed was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments, each replicated 6 times. The treatments included: P0 (basal diet), P1 (3% fermented water spinach flour), P2 (6% fermented water spinach flour), and P3 (9% fermented water spinach flour). Results showed that supplementation with fermented water spinach flour did not significantly affect super-native chickens' carcasses and digestive organs (P>0.05). However, numerically, supplementation with up to 9% fermented water spinach flour showed promising results on the carcass and digestive organs of super native chickens, suggesting its potential as a protein source substitute for tofu waste in feed formulations.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of the interaction of golden snail MOL with chicken manure on the growth and yield of nagara bean plants and to examine the best combination of golden snail MOL and chicken manure on the growth and yield of nagara bean plants. This research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor of the MOL dose for golden snails consists of 4 levels, m1 = 5 ml L-1 : m2 = 10 ml L-1 : m3 = 15 ml L-1 : m4 = 20 ml L-1. The second factor of chicken manure dosage (K) consists of 4 levels, k0 = 0 t ha-1 :k1 = 5 t ha-1 :k2 = 10 t ha-1 :k3 = 15 t ha-1. The results of the study showed that there was no interaction between golden snail MOL and chicken manure on all observed parameters. The single factor of giving MOL golden snails had a significant effect on the variable height of plants aged 4, 7, 13, and 14 WAP. Providing higher concentrations of golden snail MOL (20 and 15 ml L-1) had a good effect on the growth of nagara bean plants. The single factor of giving chicken manure had a significant effect on the variables of plant height aged 11, 12, 13, and 14 WAP, weight of 100 seeds, seed yield per plant, and plant yield per hectare. Providing chicken manure at a rate of 15 t ha-1 had a good effect on plant height, number of seeds, weight of 100 seeds, seed yield, yield per plant, and yield per hectare.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Mr. Mahmuddin's broiler farm located in Tatakan Village, South Tapin District, Tapin Regency. The research began in January to May of 2024. This research aims to study the income level of broiler chicken business with a partnership pattern and to determine the feasibility of broiler chicken business with a partnership pattern on Mahmuddin Farm in Tatakan Village, South Tapin District, Tapin Regency. The components used in evaluating business feasibility include production costs, revenue, and business income obtained from broiler farming. Parameters measured are using cost benefit analysis indicators which include: R/C Ratio, B/C Ratio, BEP, and Performance Index (IP) parameters. The results showed that the feasibility analysis of a broiler livestock business with a business scale of 41,165 heads for four periods was profitable as an agribusiness-oriented business where the profit earned was Rp. 60,996,439 in four periods, and feasible to develop with a value of R / C ratio of 1,06 and B / C ratio of 0.06. BEP analysis shows that the amount of production is higher than the production BEP value (Production>BEP Production) which is 58,195.01 kg for 4 periods and the price BEP is still lower than the set at Rp. 23,408-/kg so that it has met the empirical standards in the break-even analysis calculation. As for the assessment using the Performance Index (IP) parameter in the first period is 547, second 269, third 550, and in the last period 888. This shows that Mr. Mahmuddin's broiler farm business located in Tatakan Village, South Tapin District, Tapin Regency is feasible to continue or develop.

Abstract

Pak choy is a vegetable that content high nutrition, beneficial for health, and the price is higher compared to other types of mustard greens, so that pak choy cultivation has bright prospects. One effort to get quality pak choy is by providing chicken manure liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The research was conducted to study: the interaction; concentration of LOF; and time interval for applying LOF that provides the best growth and yield of pak choy. The experiment was conducted from June to August 2021 in Sumber Sari Village, Sebulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. The experiment was arranged in a Split Plot Design with six replications. The concentration of LOF as the Main Plot, consisting of four levels, namely control (0), 25, 50, 75 mL L-1; and  time interval for applying LOF as Subplots, consisted of every 2 and 4 days. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test at 5% level. The relationship between plant dry weight and LOF concentration was determined using polynomial orthogonal regression and correlation analysis. The results showed that the interaction and the time interval for applying LOF was not significantly different on all variables; while the efffect of LOF concentration is significantly different on all variables.  A concentration of 25 mL POC L-1 is able to meet the nutritional needs of pak choy.  The shape and strength of the relationship between dry weight of pak choy and POC concentration is linear and very strong with the regression equation ŷ = 3.263 + 0.0615x; correlation coefficient (r) 0.8344; and the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.6963.
