Abstract

The use of clam shells through the Community Partnership Program will become a new source of income for shellfish business actors and especially the Sidayu sub-district community can participate in managing and utilizing the abundant shellfish waste to be further processed as a mixture of fish and poultry feed ingredients. Thus, it will increase the income of managers and as a forum for opportunities to support the implementation of the zero waste program in order to create a clean and beautiful sub-district environment. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) through coaching and mentoring contributes to the community with the objectives of: 1. Providing insight or knowledge about the utilization of shellfish waste, 2. Empowering and encouraging the improvement of the welfare of shellfish business actors who are sheltered by the Sidayu MSME Association (ASUMSI) by conduct education as well as training on how to process the use of shellfish as a mixture of fish and poultry feed. The method used is the lecture and question and answer method, giving machines and also demonstrations for processing. Through the PKM Program, it is hoped that good cooperation between partners will be formed in the future in carrying out activities that are to promote MSMEs, and also especially for the community to be able to take advantage of something that used to be waste that has no added value to be processed into a product that has added value and more selling value.

Abstract

Community service activities are the implementation of the practice of science, technology and cultural arts directly in the community as a dissemination of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and noble responsibilities in an effort to develop community capabilities, so as to accelerate the growth rate of achieving national development goals. The problem that exists in the foundation is that there is no independent effort and only expects donations from donors so that this service aims to provide input and help the Fadhilah Gresik Princess Orphans Foundation in seeking other funding income in managing the Foundation's operations. The implementation will use the method of giving lectures and direct training to administrators and orphans in learning to make handicrafts, and the training participants are administrators and female orphans with a total of 40 participants. The results of community service have been able to provide entrepreneurial motivation independently which is received with a good response, , and have been able to develop the potential of the Fadhilah Gresik Yatim Putri Foundation through handicrafts from Kur and Knitting ropes with real product results, and can provide solutions to income problems. Operational funds, by selling the handicrafts produced, through direct sales through online social media sales, so that later the Fadhilah Gresik Princess Orphans Foundation, can get income other than donors.

Abstract

Variation design of open-cell foams located in the bumper car were investigated in this paper. A brief experimental result on the dynamic response of crash was focused on energy absorption and deformation behavior. The bumper design was based on typical design of bumper compared with gradual density of hexagonal foam type. The method used was imitate crashing real behavior dynamic explicit using ABAQUS simulation software with some extra constraint, such as: crashing object and crash direction. Results showed the design strongly affect the value of energy absorption and deformation. Energy absorption was higher using hexagon foams compare to the normal bumper structure with 4.8740 E6 Joule and 4.8572 E6 respectively. Furthermore, highest energy absorption was by simulated redesign hexagon foam into varying thickness (gradual density) – similar to cortical bone structure – with 4.950 E6 Joule. Meanwhile the deformation shows highest value on typical design of bumper with 4 cm translation after crashed. Expected design has to be safe for passengers with have high ability to absorb energy and minimize the deformation movement.

Abstract

Geographical conditions Indonesia has natural resources with good potential for the development of renewable energy. One of them is wind, wind is one of the natural resources in Indonesia that can be utilized because Indonesia is an archipelagic country that has a coastline of 81000 km. The largest wind energy resources are located at sea and near the coast. This wind resource can be used to generate electricity using a wind turbine, so this research is a prototype that can simulate a wind power plant (PLTB). The prototype of this wind power plant was tested by simulating the average wind speed in several regions of Indonesia. The wind speed is between 3 m/s – 7 m/s. The wind speed of the blower is regulated by using a dimmer in order to lower and accelerate the wind speed that sweeps the surface area of the wind turbine. From the rotation of the wind turbine, it directly rotates the rotor so that the generator can produce electrical voltage. The output of the generator is connected to the load. The total load in this study is 15 Watt. By comparing the power that comes out of the generator and the power calculated using the formulation of the power that can be issued by the wind turbine, the efficiency of the generator used in this study can be obtained. The highest generator efficiency is when the wind speed is 6 m/s, with a value of only reaching 6.86%. The working efficiency of the generator can be stable above 5% when the wind speed is from 5 m/s – 7 m/s. The cause of the poor working efficiency of the generator is that the number of rotations produced by the wind turbine is not able to maximize the work of the generator.

Abstract

Sugar productivity decreased in 2015-2016 by 11.76% and reached the lowest productivity in 2017 of 4,985 kg/ha White Crystal Sugar (GKP). The reason could be due to the presence of several types of sugarcane that experienced a decrease in yield during cultivation, such as nutrient deficiencies which resulted in divergent sugarcane plant height. Then the low sugarcane juice contained in sugarcane plants also affected production results. This study aimed to determine the growth and yield performance of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) clones SB01, SB04, SB19, SB20. This research was conducted in the garden of the Center for Sugarcane Research and Development (P3T) Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Gresik, PG GEMPOLKREP and PT Perkebunan Nusantara X (PTPN X). Sumobito District, Jombang Regency from March to June 2021. Materials for observations used clones SB 01, clones SB 04, clones SB 19, and clones SB 20. The variables observed were sugarcane shoots, sugar cane stalks, and sugarcane leaves. Data analysis used descriptive analytical, variability and heritability.
