Abstract

This study aims to analyze aspects of the Health Belief Model (HBM) with mothers' compliance with ANC K4 visits during the COVID-19 pandemic in the working area of the Sikumana Health Center. The method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The results showed a significant relationship between maternal compliance with ANC K4 visits and the six aspects of HBM (perceived susceptibility, perceived seriousness, perceived benefit, perceived barrier, cues to action and self-efficacy). Data analysis using multiple logistic regression showed a simultaneous effect between perceived susceptibility (OR 8.315) and perceived benefit (OR 0.040) with maternal compliance with K4 antenatal visits; perceived susceptibility was the most dominant variable with p = 0.000, CI = 3.835 - 18,029. In conclusion, the HBM aspect that influences a mother's adherence to ANC visits is Perceived susceptibility. Keywords: Health Belief Model, Compliance of Pregnant Women, K4 Antenatal Visits

Abstract

This study aims to determine the content of heavy metal lead (Pb) in the urine of elementary school (SD) students in Jambi City. The method used is a descriptive survey involving elementary school students near the highway with inclusion criteria, namely elementary school students in grades 2-6 and the distance from elementary school to the highway is less than 50 meters. The levels of lead in students' urine were measured using the Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS). The results showed that the Pb content in the students' urine ranged from 0.024 ppm - 0.068 ppm. The highest level of vehicle density at SDN Jambi City adjacent to the highway is 1,520 vehicles/hour. In conclusion, the urine of elementary school students has lead levels that exceed the required limits, so it can be dangerous if left for a long time. Keywords: Heavy Metals, Students, Lead, Urine

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of Heat and Moisture Exchangers (HME) filters in filtering volatile organic compounds (formaldehyde) produced from surgical fumes, a side effect of using hazardous electrical-based surgical instruments. The method used is the descriptive method with a total sample of 15, divided into three groups, namely HME1, HME2 and HME3. The results showed that the HME1 filter obtained the highest formaldehyde value of 15.95 ppm and the lowest of 10 ppm with a mean value of 12.99 ppm; HME2 filter with the highest formaldehyde value of 13.98 ppm, the lowest 7.98 ppm and the mean value of 9.58 ppm; the HME3 filter showed the highest formaldehyde value of 11.98 ppm and the lowest of 4.99 ppm with a mean number of 4.99 ppm. In conclusion, there is a difference in the average amount of smoke after being given the action of the filter modification method (HME1, HME2 and HME3). The modified filter can be used to capture/filter surgical fumes. Keywords: Surgical Fumes, Electrosurgical Unit, HME Filter, Formaldehyde, Breast Cancer
