Abstract

This research aims to guide nurses in therapeutic communication with patients with diabetes distress. The method used in this writing is a literature review through several databases, namely Pubmed, ClinicalKey, Proquest, and Science Direct. The research results show that diabetes distress is a common thing experienced by patients with diabetes mellitus. Abstract

This study aims to explore the experience of nurses in monitoring Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients at Tantara Hospital, Ambon City. The method used is qualitative research using a phenomenological design. Participants in the study were health workers working in the isolation room, namely nurses with the following criteria: a minimum of 2 years work experience in the isolation room and a minimum diploma of three, fulfilling the qualifications as an isolation health worker and communicating cooperatively with researchers. Research data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using the Colaizzi analysis method. The results showed that there were 5 themes related to the experience of nurses in monitoring COVID-19 patients: Anxiety, Knowledge, nurse loyalty, nurses' feelings, and efforts to reduce the risk of contracting it. In conclusion, nurses experience anxiety due to high job demands, including long working hours, nurse knowledge, loyalty, nurses' feelings and efforts to reduce the risk of infection are very important for nurses to be able to provide appropriate nursing care for patients. Abstract

This research aims to modify canned kolang ingredients into an innovative product that is mixed with strawberries and made into jam which is useful for reducing constipation for pregnant women in the third trimester in the PB Selayang II Health Center Work Area, Medan in 2023. The method used is quantitative research using quasi-experimental methods. design with one group pretest-posttest design. The research has gone through the USU Faculty of Nursing Health Research Ethics approval process with number 2847/VII/SP/2023. The instrument uses a questionnaire containing respondent data/identity and research observation sheets. The research results showed that the results of the paired t test were obtained with a mean result of 19.34 with a t value of 561,000 and a p value of 0.000 in the group of mothers before eating kolang kaling jam and strawberries and then mothers after eating kolang kaling jam and strawberries. In conclusion, kolang kaling and strawberry jam have benefits and functions that can help prevent constipation from pregnant women. Keywords: Pregnant Women, Constipation, Jam

Abstract

Lansia memiliki aktifitas lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan kelompok yang lebih muda, dikarenakan proses degenerative fungsi tubuh. Salah satu penurunan pada lansia yaitu fungsional mata. Gangguan penglihatan lansia mengakibatkan keterasingan, ketergantungan, depresi dan terkadang disorientasi dan kebingungan, ini mempengaruhi kualitas hidup lansia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran hubungan faktor status penglihatan dominan dengan kemandirian lansia. Jumlah responden penelitian ini 103 lansia di rusun Tzu Chi Cengkareng. Simple random sampling metode penelitian ini, dengan pemilihan sampel sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi. Hasil analisis didapati p value > 0.05; tidak ditemukan hubungan usia, jenis kelamin, pekerjaan, pendidikan, status penglihatan dengan tingkat kemandirian lansia. Namun perhatian khusus pada lansia terkait penurunan fungsi penglihatan perlu ditindaklanjuti, khususnya dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan sehari – hari.

Abstract

This study aims to prove the application of evidence-based nursing hand-held fan therapy for dyspnea in lung cancer patients. The method used was pre-experimental, with a sample size of 10 lung cancer patients. The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect of the application of hand-held fan therapy on dyspnea, respiratory rate, and SpO2 in lung cancer patients (p<0.05). In conclusion, hand-held fan therapy can reduce shortness of breath, reduce respiratory rate, and increase oxygen saturation in lung cancer patients. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing discharge planning on self-care for ischemic stroke clients at Advent Hospital and Al Ihsan Hospital, Bandung. The method used is quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest with control group design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The results of the research show that the description of Self Care Behavior before and after discharge planning at the Adventist Hospital is that there is an influence of Discharge Planning intervention using flip sheets (audio visual video) and using ROM training tools, with a p-value of 0.01 < 0.05, and Self Description Care Behavior before and after discharge planning at Al Hospital. Ihsan Bandung, There is an effect of Discharge Planning intervention using leaflets with a p-value of 0.01 < 0.05. Furthermore, the description of Self Care Management before and after discharge planning at the Adventist Hospital shows the influence of the Discharge Planning intervention at the Hospital. Advent used a flip sheet (audio-visual video) and used a ROM training tool with a p-value of 0.01 < 0.05 and there was no effect of Discharge planning intervention in the hospital. Al Ihsan used Leaflet with a p-value of 0.71 > 0.05. The conclusion in this research is that there is an influence before and after discharge planning on self-care behavior in hospitals. Adventist and RS. Al Ihsan, and There is an influence before and after discharge planning is implemented on self-care management in hospitals. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and roles of Muhammadiyah youth cadres in preventing stunting in the Bandung district. The study applies a Mixed Method with a convergent design. Both quantitative and qualitative data collection are conducted simultaneously. Quantitative research is carried out among all Muhammadiyah Youth Cadres through questionnaire distribution, while qualitative research involves interviews with the leaders or secretaries of the AMM organization. Knowledge and attitudes are analyzed using frequency distribution. Codes and categories are created to analyze qualitative data on the roles of cadres. The research results show that most respondents have insufficient knowledge (83%) and have relatively good attitudes towards stunting prevention (56%). The study finds that youth have limited roles as agents of socialization in stunting prevention. In conclusion, most respondents lack knowledge, have relatively good attitudes, and the roles of the cadres are as agents of socialization. Socialization should be carried out to equip the cadres to fulfil their roles in the AMM organization. Key Words: Youth Cadre, Role, Knowledge, Attitude, Stunting

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the obstacles to education on preparation for surgery for outpatients and alternative solutions to increase the effectiveness of offering education on preparation for surgery. The method is a survey with interviews, questionnaires, fishbone analysis, problem prioritization, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that 60.7% of outpatient nurses involved in the study conducted surgery preparation education without specific media and guidance based only on general educational SOPs. Data shows that 46% of nurses need more time to provide education, and its implementation will not be optimal during busy hours. 28% of cases of surgical failure are caused by ineffective education on preparation for surgery. In conclusion, interactive video educational media makes it easier for nurses to implement instruction quickly. This impacts patients' ability to understand educational material more efficiently so that the surgical failure rate can be reduced. Keywords: Operation Preparation Education. Fishbone. Abstract

This research aims to find out non-pharmacological measures to reduce blood pressure that can be carried out in the emergency room. The method used is a systematic review using the keywords Disinfectant Stethoscope via Scopus, Sage, Pubmed, and ScienceDirect. Inclusion criteria: full text (abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions). The research results showed that from analyzing nine articles of non-pharmacological measures for hypertensive patients, namely Buteyko breathing, Bee-Humming Breathing Exercise, Phramari Pranayama, Aerobics, green tea extract (GT) and endurance training (RT), Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training, Aerobic exercise and stretching. In conclusion, Buteyko and bhramari pranayama are non-pharmacological measures that do not require much time. According to the author, they can be applied in the emergency room. Abstract

This study aims to analyze factors related to breast care for postpartum mothers at H. Abdul Manap Hospital, Jambi City. The research method used is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. The research results showed that most respondents, 84.4%, carried out breast care for postpartum mothers. The chi-square test analysis results showed a significant relationship between education and breast care in postpartum mothers with a p-value = 0.036, and there was a meaningful relationship between knowledge and breast care in postpartum women with a p-value = 0.000. Chi-square test analysis results. The results showed no significant relationship between parity and breast care in postpartum mothers with p-value = 1.000, and there was a meaningful relationship between motivation and breast care in postpartum women with p-value = 0.000. In conclusion, breast care for postpartum mothers is related to the mother's education, knowledge, and motivation. Keywords: Postpartum Mothers, Knowledge, Breast Care
