Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) to reduce procedural pain in children with cancer. The method use is a systematic review by collecting articles from the Proquest, Sage Journals, ScienceDirect and PubMed databases. The results describe that children with cancer in the VR group reported lower pain scores compared to the control group, both pain scores reported by children and pain scores reported by parents. Conclusions, the use of VR is effective in reducing prosedural pain in children with cancer. Keywords: Children With Cancer, Procedural Pain, Virtual Reality

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of self-management carried out by cancer patients while in hospital. The method used was a systematic review of several databases, namely Proquest, Science Direct, Sage Pub, Scopus, Ebsco, ClicalKey Nursing, and PubMed, resulting in 15 articles that could be analyzed. The research results show that the self-management behavior that cancer patients can use to overcome symptoms during treatment in hospital is effective in its use, starting from managing symptoms of fatigue, severe pain, anxiety, the effects of specific diseases such as urinary elimination disorders, lymphedema, and mucositis. Conclusion: Strategies that can be used by patients to manage symptoms are by making lifestyle changes, including resting, reducing activity, changing diet, consuming supplements, reading books, doing light sports activities, yoga and meditation. These strategies are expected to improve the quality of life of cancer patients. who is in the hospital. Keywords: Cancer Patients, Hospitals, Self-Management

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of the inclusion complex formed between simvastatin and β-cyclodextrin and its derivatives. To determine the level of stability and determine the solubility level of the inclusion complex formed between simvastatin and β-cyclodextrin and its derivatives (2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin and 2,6-di-O-methyl-β-cyclodextrin) in water solvent. The method used is qualitative descriptive using the molecular docking method, modeling and anchoring the inclusion complex model. The research results show that the simvastatin/HP-β-CD inclusion complex has a higher level of solubility in water solvents compared to the simvastatin/β-CD and simvastatin/DM-β-CD inclusion complexes, with a ΔGsolvation value of -1032.34 kJ/mol.Conclusion: Simvastatin is able to bind to the cavity of 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin, 2,6-di-O-methyl-β-cyclodextrin, and simvastatin/β-cyclodextrin with the following order of bond strength: simvastatin/2-hydroxypropyl-β -cyclodextrin > simvastatin/2,6-di-O-methyl-β-cyclodextrin > simvastatin/β-cyclodextrin. Abstract

This study aimed to explore and synthesize the scientific literature on the types of spiritual interventions that are effective in improving spiritual wellbeing in cancer patients. The method used was a systematic review through the PubMed, Science Direct, EBSCOhost and Springer Link databases using the keywords: cancer patients OR oncology patients OR patients with cancer AND spiritual interventions AND spiritual well being OR spiritual health OR spiritual healing, with inclusion criteria for cancer patients aged >18 years, January 2010 - September 2023 the selection process used the PRISMA method and the quality assessment of articles using the JBI tools RCT design. The number of initial search articles was 6725 articles with 13 articles used. The results showed that 8 spiritual interventions were found to be statistically effective in improving the mean spiritual well-being score in cancer patients. Conclusion spiritual interventions can be effective in improving spiritual well-being in cancer patients who have metastases and are in palliative care as well as those with chemotherapy. Abstract

This study aims to identify the influence of obesity and smoking on the incidence of PONV in general anesthesia patients. This research method is a type of quantitative research with analytical observational type, using a cross sectional design. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with purposive sampling, namely 68 respondents were obtained. The data measurement tools used were Gordon score observation sheets, smoking habits questionnaires, and interviews. The statistical test used is Spearman's Rank. The results of the study showed that from 68 respondents, for obesity, the number of underweight BMI respondents was 4 respondents, 5.9% and for smoking habits, namely passive smoking, 42 respondents, 61.8%. Obesity with a p value of 0.000 < 0.05 means there is a significant influence between obesity and PONV. Smokers with a p value of 0.942 > 0.05 means there is no significant influence between smokers and PONV. Conclusion, Based on the results of research conducted regarding the influence of obesity and smoking on the incidence of post-operative nausea & vomiting (PONV) in general anesthesia at Sumedang District Hospital. Abstract

This study aims to review the literature on effective interventions to increase the uptake of cervical cancer screening in women of childbearing age. The method used is a systematic review through searching for articles according to the formulation of research questions using the PIO formula in the Proquest, Pubmed, Sage Journal, Science Direct, and Scopus databases. The search keywords used are ((technology[Title/Abstract]) OR (innovation[Title/Abstract])) OR (intervention[Title/Abstract])) OR (method[Title/Abstract])) AND (increase cervical cancer screening[Title/Abstract])) OR (improve cervical cancer screening[Title/Abstract]). The results showed that from 10 articles reviewed, relevant interventions were found to increase screening uptake, including the provision of SMS (education and reminder) and eVouchers, self-sampling of HPV sent by post, FCHV visits to provide education and counseling using flipchart media and booklets as well as talk shows and peer discussions by CHW. CHW conducts education using video clips and brochures, Conclusions, and relevant interventions to increase the uptake of cervical cancer screening are the provision of reminder messages and eVouchers, self-sampling of HPV sent by post, mentoring interventions by FCHV or CHW for education and counseling. Abstract

This study aims to explain the use of lumbar pillows in bed rest patients in a supine sleeping position. The method used is a scoping review by searching for articles using keywords in the Scopus, Science Direct, PubMed, EBSCOhost, and ProQuest databases based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research results showed that there were 3 articles consisting of 2 studies conducted on total bed rest patients and a study on healthy respondents. Two studies used a combination therapy of a support pillow with existing therapies. Two studies showed that support pillows help distribute pressure in the pelvic, lumbar and thoracic areas and support the lumbar arch which can reduce pain levels and increase the comfort of respondents. The conclusion from this study is that the lumbar pillow can be applied to patients on bed rest and provides effective results when combined with physical therapy, conservative therapy, and modification of sleeping position.
