Abstract

The impact of drought during the dry season was felt by the people of Pernek Village, Sumbawa Regency, namely that groundwater discharge was reduced significantly. This condition will continue to be a cause for concern as community activities expand corn farming areas to the point of destroying forest vegetation that is difficult to control. High community access to the Batulanteh KPH forest and weak law enforcement are factors in deforestation on Sumbawa Island. Therefore, concrete steps are needed to bridge these two problems. The aim of implementing this service is to educate the community to plant ecological ketapang trees so that they are beneficial economically and economically. Determine the planting point for ketapang trees so that they can function to prevent the danger of soil erosion. The service was used in the form of a lecture on the importance of planting trees by gathering residents, village officials and representatives from the university at the Pernek village hall, then continued with tree planting and assistance during the planting (maintenance) period at predetermined points. The results of this community service activity are increasing public understanding and awareness of climate change by showing enthusiasm in participating in this series of community service activities. Based on the results of the survey before this service program was held, the community did not understand the impact of drought in the form of reduced groundwater discharge due to deforestation due to the large area of corn farming. The community does not yet understand the importance and function of standing trees (including ketapang trees) in reducing the danger of soil erosion during the rainy season. On the other hand, the public can gain new knowledge about the economic potential of the ketapang tree, both in terms of fruit, leaves and wood. This service program has a positive impact on residents regarding the benefits of greening and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Lamu Village is a fishing village located on the beach or around the sea waters of Batudaa Beach Regency. Empowering the fishing community in Lamu Village can be important because fishermen are one of the main economic sectors in the village. Apart from that, Lamu Village is a village that is included in the category of villages experiencing extreme levels of poverty. In fact, Lamu Village has a lot of enormous natural potential, one of which is the potential for aquatic products because Lamu Village is in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. However, this enormous potential has not been utilized and managed optimally by the people of Lamu Village. The aim of this community service is to provide information regarding the handling of yellowfin tuna catches and training on diversifying noodle products from fish bones as a source of calcium. The methods used are counseling and training methods or direct demonstrations to the community, especially fishermen and PKK women. The results obtained from this training are that the community is able to process and utilize water products, especially those that are the potential of Lamu Village. The community has been able to make meatballs from tuna meat and noodles from tuna bone meal, which is able to create products that can give birth to MSMEs in the community.

Abstract

Water contains physical, biological and chemical parameters. To determine water parameters, a sensor is needed which functions to convert physical, biological and chemical quantities into electrical quantities. This therapeutic study only tests the physical quantities contained in the water, such as pH levels, TDS, temperature and turbidity. Laboratory tests on water parameters using sensors are intended to obtain sensor characteristics and calibrate the sensors used with the aim that when the sensors are applied in the real environment, the conversion of physical quantities to electricity produced by the sensors will be close to the actual values. The amount of electricity produced by the sensor can be further managed for various purposes. Along with advances in technology in the field of telecommunications and information, water parameter data can be transmitted over long distances using transmitting devices to receiving devices. After the data reaches the recipient's device, the data can be displayed directly or forwarded to other devices using the internet network. The implementation of the long distance communication technology developed was tested at one of the companies/institutions in the field of bottled drinking water (AMDK) production, namely PT. Meteor Perkasa with the product brand "For3". The field testing process was witnessed directly by employees and management of AMDK PT. Meteror Perkasa, and the company are satisfied with the field test data which can be displayed on the Smartphone screen, so that monitoring anytime and anywhere can be realized.

Abstract

The high incidence of Pulmonary TB will certainly have an impact on the community. The impact is medical, social, economic, and cultural. The most severe impact is the increase in mortality. The participation of all parties is urgently needed to eradicate pulmonary TB. The pulmonary TB response program involves all parties, including the community, civil society organizations, and public and private care providers. Community empowerment in the health sector, called health cadres, is crucial in the pulmonary TB elimination program. This community service activity aims to foster partnerships with health cadres. The activities carried out provide knowledge about pulmonary TB to health cadres and train health cadres on how to provide health education to the community. The method used in this activity is interactive health education and training cadres through role play. A pre-test was carried out before the activity, followed by a post-test after the material was delivered. The results of health education activities about pulmonary TB in cadres showed increased knowledge before and after health education was given. Evaluation of training activities with the evaluation results shows that the first cadre scored 78 and the second obtained 79. The shortcomings that need to be addressed are that cadres are not allowed to ask their audiences questions, and there needs to be more positive reinforcement and evaluation of material that has yet to be done. Health education carried out interactively has provided new learning experiences for health cadres. Training on how to provide health education improves the skills of cadres in providing health education to the community.

Abstract

Sinogo farmers, starting in November 2022 have cultivated Vanilla plants (Vanilla planifolia Andrews) in a greenhouse using planting medium in the form of mixture of soil, manure and cocofiber in a ratio of 1 : 1 : 1. The use of cocofiber causes the planting medium to dry out quickly. In 2023, Sinogo farmers had problem of limited water for watering because the water used comes from springs, which are very small during the dry season. The aim of the community service activity was to provide information about water-saving drip irrigation technology and to apply drip irrigation techniques to vanilla cultivation in greenhouses. Community service begins with survey activities to determine regional conditions and the level of farmers' understanding of drip irrigation technology. The next stage was education and practice of drip irrigation technology. Evaluation monitoring was carried out to determine the results of drip irrigation practices. The survey results showed that 87% of farmer group members did not know about drip irrigation techniques and they were very interested in implementing this technology. As many as 100% of respondents expressed interest in implementing drip irrigation technology on vanilla plants. After providing service to the Sinogo farmer community, they understood the drip irrigation technique, which was a water-saving irrigation technique. The results of the community service implementation showed that drip irrigation was running but was still limited because little water was stored due to low rainfall until December 2023. The conclusion was that most members of farmer community did not understand drip irrigation techniques. The success of drip irrigation techniques was influenced by the availability of water sources.

Abstract

The implementation of a merdeka’s curriculum remains a complex issue, both in the development of educational modules and P5. Similar to the MGMP of Geography in Tasikmalaya District, since the introduction of the independent curriculum, none of the MGMP councils has made a substantial contribution to its preparation and implementation, especially in the educational modules. In fact, 5 secondary schools have now implemented the Merdeka’s Curriculum (preparatory stage) and 64 other schools are still using the 2013 curriculum. Community services are bundled with geography subject teaching and P5 module development workshops. Expected outcome goals include: 1) Increase knowledge about preparing frrameworks for project-based learning models for geography subjects; 2) Increase a knowledge to create a design framework for a geography subject project to link with other subjects in the P5. All participats in the four groups experienced an increase in knowledge (100%). However, from a project-based learning perspective, each group can be considered highly interactive. The FGD results concluded that the following was taken into account when preparing the P5 teaching module: 1) Possibilities in the school environment; 2) Adapt to the values of local wisdom that exist in each region; 3) Sustainable time management; and 4) In P5, the contribution of geography subjects is high.
