Abstract

Plastic waste on the coast of Tulehu Country Salahutu District, Central Maluku is a problem that must be handled together. Plastic waste is often found washed up on coastlines and piled up around beaches. Lack of awareness and minimal information about how to process plastic waste into useful products is one of the causes, even though waste handling activities have been carried out. The solution offered in this service activity is to provide education about processing plastic waste into paving blocks. The aim of this activity is to provide understanding to the public about the importance of good waste management. Changing people's mindset in processing plastic waste into useful products. The methods used in this activity are survey, outreach, training and evaluation methods. Initial surveys and coordination were carried out to see field conditions and community habits. Socialization and training to enrich the material as well as evaluation to measure the level of understanding of the material provided. During this activity, the participants were very enthusiastic. This activity is new information for them. New participants learned that paving blocks can be made from plastic waste. Usually made from sand and cement. After socializing the processing of plastic waste into paving blocks, participants understood how to process plastic waste properly and correctly. The level of understanding of the material was measured by questionnaires given to participants before and after socialization and training. Before the activity, 95% of the people did not understand the material for making paving blocks and after the activity was carried out, 100% answered that they understood the material provided. Making paving blocks can be a solution to reducing plastic waste and can be developed into a new business source in Tulehu Country.

Abstract

Digital developments make it easy for students to organize and collect literature through the PoP and Mendeley applications. Therefore, this workshop aims to provide understanding and ability to workshop participants in operating PoP and Mendeley to help the literature review process. The workshop was held on September 25, 2023 which was attended by 26 students of Indonesian Language Education Study Program, FKIP, Untan. This workshop was carried out with the help of methods 1) lecture, 2) practice, and 3) question and answer. In this workshop, participants were guided to practice the application of PoP and Mendeley directly. The pretest results showed that the participants did not know the application of PoP and Mendeley as a reference organizer and reference collection tool. After the training, there was an increase in students' ability to input citations, bring up bibliographies, and change citation styles using the Mendeley application and succeeded in providing test participants with an understanding and ability to function PoP as a research metadata collection tool. The interest of the test participants was very high and the workshop has succeeded in giving confidence to the participants that the Mendeley and PoP applications will be useful for them in the future, especially in writing academic texts, which shows that this workshop has succeeded in increasing students' knowledge and ability to utilize PoP and Mendeley in the reference collection process.

Abstract

The fish processing and marketing group (poklahsar) in the Gili Matra Marine Protected Area has received intervention from the central government through Bappenas in the COREMAP-CTI III program. This intervention involves improving human resource capacity and providing grants for fish processing equipment. However, the limited duration of the program has resulted in suboptimal assistance in utilizing the donated fish processing equipment. Therefore, the involvement of universities in assisting the community is deemed necessary. This assistance activity aims to inform and educate the poklahsar about the use of fish processing equipment, particularly machines, to enhance production capacity in the Gili Matra Marine Protected Area. The assistance activities were carried out in July 2023 at the respective production locations of each poklahsar. The educational method for adults in this assistance activity involves lectures and hands-on practical training. The outcome of this assistance activity is an increased understanding and knowledge among poklahsar in the Gili Matra Marine Protected Area regarding the functions and uses of various machine-based fish processing equipment. Additionally, it was identified that some obstacles hinder optimizing machine-based equipment utilization, including a lack of understanding in using such equipment and limited market demand for processed fish products. In conclusion, the poklahsar have diverse views on using machine-based equipment, enabling them to optimize the use of such equipment despite the limited demand for processed fish products.

Abstract

Education and learning globally has undergone a change from an era focused on direct learning to blended learning. The pandemic has also contributed to the pattern of learning that was originally online and then directed to return to semi-online offline learning. online. This learning adaptation phenomenon is also felt in the learning process of high school teachers in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, Jambi Province. East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. Teachers have their own challenges to design learning activities that learning activities that can restore learners' interest and attention when attending face-to-face classes. Based on these conditions, a service activity was carried out that focused on training on the use of Flip PDF as a teaching material maker application and equipped with the use of mentimeter.com as one of the options for making interactive presentation media in learning. making interactive presentation media in learning. This training conducted at SMA N 8 Tanjung Jabung Timur. Teachers are given training on the use of Flip PDF as an electronic teaching material in learning in the first session. Teachers also gained experience in creating interactive presentation media through the site mentimeter.com. After participating in the activities, teachers have additional skills related to making teaching materials and interactive presentation media and interactive presentation media during the learning process. Training in the use of Flip PDF and Mentimeter can be an important step in improving the quality of learning in improving the quality of learning in the digital era. This approach gives educators a powerful tool to create a more interactive and engaging learning experiences that are more interactive and engaging. Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui penyuluhan pertanian berbasis agribisnis di Desa Cenrana telah memberikan dampak positif terhadap kesejahteraan petani dan perkembangan sektor pertanian. Program ini memberdayakan petani dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru dalam praktik pertanian agribisnis, memungkinkan mereka mengadopsi teknologi pertanian yang lebih efisien, diversifikasi produk, dan strategi pemasaran yang tepat sasaran. Partisipasi aktif masyarakat menciptakan kolaborasi yang kuat antara petani, penyedia layanan atau pengabdi dan pihak terkait, sehingga memungkinkan solusi lokal dapat diterapkan, mengingat beragamnya tantangan yang dihadapi masing-masing petani. Peningkatan akses pasar dan kesadaran akan pentingnya lingkungan telah memberikan dampak positif terhadap perekonomian, memungkinkan petani untuk menjual produk mereka dengan harga yang lebih baik dan mencapai pendapatan yang lebih stabil. Meski telah mencapai hasil yang nyata, masih terdapat tantangan yang perlu diatasi, antara lain melanjutkan pendidikan, pendampingan, dan penguatan infrastruktur. Dengan tekad dan kerjasama yang terus menerus, program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat terus menjadi penggerak utama dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani dan membangun gairah terhadap sektor pertanian di Desa Cenrana. Dedikasi ini juga dapat memberikan inspirasi bagi daerah lain untuk melakukan pendekatan serupa dalam mengembangkan pertanian berbasis agribisnis.

Abstract

The development of technology demands prospective workers to possess operational skills for equipment in industries, one of which relies on automation. A widely used example of automation technology in the industrial world is Programmable Logic Control (PLC), enabling the automatic control of industrial equipment with ease of scalability. In this context, vocational high school (SMK) students, representing a talent pool for the industrial sector, are required to understand, apply, and possess skills in operating PLC-based industrial equipment. However, to impart such skills, schools often face challenges in acquiring practical equipment, where the costs of which tend to be relatively high. In this community service (Abdimas) program, the team develops demonstration tools for industrial automation, specifically focusing on pneumatic actuators based on PLC. The partner and target in this community service program is SMK Bina Industri located in Ds. Jatiwangi, Kec. Cikarang Barat, Kab. Bekasi. The implementation of this program is carried out through several stages, including (1) identification of partner’s needs; (2) development of demonstration tools; (3) training on the use of demonstration tools; and (4) the handover of the demonstration tools. SMK Bina Industri highly appreciates the implemented program and encourages the development of a partnership that goes beyond the focus on developing demonstration tools and grants. It is expected to include capacity-building activities such as seminars/workshops for teachers and students. This program has successfully developed economical yet effective demonstration tools, opening opportunities for partnerships between universities and vocational high schools in embracing the Golden Indonesia's vision of 2045.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in building an adaptive society in the 21st-century globalization era. The learning paradigm has shifted from a teacher-centered to a student-centered approach, emphasizing critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative skills development. Technological limitations hinder the attainment of these skills, hence it is imperative for educators to leverage technology to foster innovative and engaging learning environments. This study aims to enhance the effectiveness of education at SMK Negeri 1 Cileungsi through the implementation of digital modules, preparing students for 21st-century education. Proposed methods include: 1) Socialization of 21st-century learning approaches to educators and students; 2) Intensive training in digital module usage; and 3) Provision and training on audio-visual learning material production tools as engaging and interactive learning resources. The outcomes of this community engagement initiative encompass improved understanding of 21st-century learning concepts among educators, staff, and students. Teachers will be able to integrate digital modules into the curriculum, while students will actively engage with captivating audio-visual materials. Regular evaluations will ensure implementation effectiveness and measure academic progress and students' skills in tackling modern learning challenges. Additionally, feedback from school representatives suggests extending these activities to other departments beyond Computer Networking Engineering. In conclusion, the adoption of digital modules and audio-visual materials enhances learning enthusiasm by providing adaptive learning tailored to student needs. Recommendations for enhancing school technology infrastructure and sustainably evaluating programs aim to enrich future learning experiences.

Abstract

Jabalsari Village is one of the villages in Tulungagung district where the majority of the people make their living as farmers. Most of the agricultural system in Jabalsari Village still uses conventional methods. Apart from the method used, the energy source used in agricultural equipment still uses fossil fuels. Continuous use of fossil energy can disrupt the environmental ecosystem and will eventually run out. So, this Community Service activity aims to introduce renewable energy as an energy source for agricultural equipment. The method of implementing this activity is socialization. Socialization was carried out by providing explanations about renewable energy and its implementation. The activity began with an explanation from the PkM resource person and continued with a question and answer session between the lecturer and members of the Jabalsari village farmer group. The people of Jabalsari village who have participated in the activity have a better understanding of renewable energy and its implementation. Through this activity, it is hoped that farmers in Jabalsari village will understand the implementation of renewable energy in the agricultural sector and be able to put it into practice.

Abstract

Bullying is a social phenomenon that often occurs in the school environment. Most students have experienced bullying either as victims, perpetrators, or as people who witnessed the incident. This phenomenon needs to be addressed by related parties in prevention efforts. One activity that can be carried out is outreach to students at school about bullying prevention. This community service activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 7 Ambon. The aim of this activity is for participants to understand what bullying is, the types of bullying and the impact of bullying behavior. Participants are also invited not to carry out bullying in the school environment. The methods used in this activity are lectures, discussions and educational games using the Kahoot application. The team also conducted a survey regarding bullying at school using the Retrospective Bullying Questionnaire. Community service activities in the form of outreach about bullying prevention are running well and effectively. The final results of this activity show a positive response from students regarding efforts to prevent bullying in schools in creating child-friendly schools. Child-friendly schools can be created when school residents are not involved in bullying.

Abstract

The specialty of content marketing is that it can make potential customers who are only interested in finally deciding to make a purchase. The Cibaduyut Shoe Trader Community does not yet recognize and utilize marketing content in business activities. The focus of business activities of the Cibaduyut Shoe trader community is producing shoes and selling shoes conventionally. Conventional business activities include selling to community partners, selling traditionally to sellers or markets. With this activity, it is hoped that you will understand and be able to run and use Canva for content production. Content production is a tool for promoting business or enterprise. This service activity was carried out for 2 months involving students from the University of Indonesia Developing (INABA) and lecturers from the University of Indonesia Developing (INABA). The solution that can be offered is to provide training on using the Canva application to the Cibaduyut Shoe trader community. It is hoped that with training in using the Canva application, partners can create marketing content. The next goal is for the Cibaduyut shoe trader community to be able to market their products not only conventionally but also digitally. Things that partners need to pay attention to are (1) Creating a Canva account; (2) get to know the appearance and use of the Canva application; (3) Create a flyer in the Canva application; (4) Making videos in the Canva application; (5) Using themes and templates; (6) Add sound to flyers or videos; (7) How to download flyers and videos in the Canva application; (8) Change the display format in the Canva application. Partners can follow and understand the training that has been provided. Consistency is the key to being an effective marketing tool.
