Abstract

Service quality is a critical factor in maintaining customer satisfaction and competitiveness in a dynamic business environment. This study aims to analyze customer satisfaction by integrating the Service Quality (SERVQUAL), Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) methods. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 113 respondents and analyzed using validity and reliability tests. The SERVQUAL results indicate positive gaps across all five dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, suggesting that perceived service exceeds customer expectations. Responsiveness shows the highest gap (0.55), while empathy records the lowest (0.48). The CSI value of 79.36% places overall customer satisfaction in the “Satisfied” category. Furthermore, IPA mapping identifies priority attributes for improvement as well as those that should be maintained. These findings imply that although service quality is generally good, enhancing empathy and sustaining responsiveness are necessary to achieve a Very Satisfied level of customer satisfaction. Finally, this research contributes to decision-making strategies for short-term service improvement by offering a clear prioritization map that can support more effective and targeted managerial actions.

Abstract

Seismic isolation is widely recognized as an effective strategy for mitigating earthquake-induced structural response. However, most studies have focused on base-isolated systems, whereas interstory isolation remains less explored. In particular, research on interstory LRB isolation for multistory reinforced concrete buildings in Indonesia remains limited. This study investigates a 13-story reinforced concrete dual-system building equipped with interstory Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB) isolators between the first and second floors. Two configurations are considered: fixed-base and interstory-isolated models. Seismic performance is evaluated through nonlinear time-history analysis using eleven ground-motion record pairs selected to represent Indonesian seismic hazard conditions, with nonlinear behavior considered for the isolators and critical ground-story elements. This study contributes to the limited research on interstory LRB isolation by clarifying how seismic demands are redistributed in a dual RC building under Indonesian hazard-consistent ground motions. Results show that interstory LRB isolation elongates the fundamental period from 0.91–1.51 s to 2.64–2.94 s, reduces base shear by 32–37%, decreases overturning moment by 71–78%, and lowers maximum interstory drift ratio from 1.87% to 0.52% in X and from 2.48% to 0.87% in Y. These results demonstrate that interstory LRB isolation is a promising alternative when conventional base isolation is impractical.

Abstract

The proliferation of food safety narratives on social media platforms has raised concerns about their influence on public perception and acceptance of government nutritional programs. This study examines the relationships between social media exposure to food safety news related to the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG), information source credibility, food safety risk perception, and public trust and acceptance among active social media users in Blitar, Indonesia. A quantitative descriptive-correlational design was employed, involving 109 purposively sampled respondents who met the inclusion criteria of active social media use and prior exposure to MBG-related content. The findings reveal that both social media exposure and information source credibility significantly predicted risk perception, while information source credibility emerged as the dominant predictor of public trust and acceptance (R² = 33.41%). In contrast, risk perception did not significantly predict trust and acceptance (α = -0.043; p = 0.658), nor did social media exposure directly influence trust (p = 0.836), leaving the hypothesised mediating role of risk perception unsupported. These findings underscore that building a credible and trustworthy information ecosystem is more effective than merely increasing positive content volume in sustaining public trust in the MBG program.

Abstract

Illiteracy remains an important educational issue in Indonesia despite various government literacy programs. However, limited studies have compared time series forecasting methods for predicting illiteracy rates in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to identify the most accurate forecasting model using the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) and Holt-Winters methods. Annual illiteracy rate data from 2011 to 2021 were analyzed using the Box-Jenkins and Exponential Smoothing approaches. The novelty of this study lies in the comparative evaluation of ARIMA and Holt-Winters models in forecasting national illiteracy rates. Model performance was assessed using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Square Error (MSE). The results indicate that ARIMA(0,0,1) is the best ARIMA model, while Holt-Winters with α = 0.8 and β = 0.9 provides the highest forecasting accuracy. Holt-Winters produced lower error values (RMSE = 0.33; MSE = 0.11) than ARIMA(0,0,1) (RMSE = 0.73; MSE = 0.54). This study contributes empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of Holt-Winters for forecasting educational indicators and supports data-driven educational policy planning in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest producers of durian, generating substantial quantities of durian peel waste. Due to its high cellulose content, durian peel has strong potential as a lignocellulosic feedstock for reducing sugar and biofuel production. However, the presence of lignin and hemicellulose limits cellulose accessibility and inhibits hydrolysis. This study investigated Alkali Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) pretreatment to enhance cellulose purity in durian peel waste. Pretreatment was carried out using H₂O₂ concentrations of 0.5–8.5% (w/v) with NaOH adjustment to pH 11–12 at 70°C for 3 h. The optimum condition was obtained at 8.5% H₂O₂, which increased cellulose content from 63.02% to 75.05%, reduced hemicellulose by 24.4%, and removed 99.5% of lignin. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis confirmed the formation of a rougher and more porous surface after pretreatment, indicating disruption of the lignocellulosic structure. Statistical analysis using ANOVA showed that H₂O₂ concentration significantly affected cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin responses (p < 0.05). These results demonstrate that AHP pretreatment is highly effective in improving cellulose accessibility and provides a promising approach for converting durian peel waste into reducing sugars and other bio-based products.

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of YouTube content creativity on the income of local YouTubers in Tapen District, Bondowoso Regency. YouTube's rapid development in the digital era has made competition between content creators even higher, so creativity is an important factor to attract viewers and increase revenue. This study used a quantitative approach involving 50 active local YouTubers who have been earning from YouTube for more than one year. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using a partial t-test. The results of the study show that content creativity has a positive and significant effect on the income of local YouTubers in Tapen District. Creative elements such as unique video ideas, visual and audio quality, title and thumbnail strategies, and upload consistency have proven to help increase your audience and AdSense revenue. These results show that the higher the content creativity, the greater the income opportunities for local YouTubers in the digital creative economy.

Abstract

This study presents comprehensive seismic performance evaluation on the laboratory building structure designed using the old regulations (SNI 1726:2002 and SNI 2847:2002) and has been strengthened with concrete column jacketing through a pushover analysis procedure based on ASCE 41-17 guidelines. Based on the global performance of the structure, the structure drift have met the performance targets with a maximum drift of 1.92% for the X direction and 1.96% for the Y direction. Based on the analysis of the deformation-controlled action, the rotation values ​​that occur in the beam components have met the performance targets with a maximum rotation of 0.0066 for negative moments and 0.0073 for positive moments. While the strain that occurs in the column components have also met the performance targets with a maximum strain of 0.0032 for rebar compression strain, 0.0131 for rebar tensile strain, and 0.0024 for concrete compression strain. Then, based on the analysis of the force-controlled action, the DCR values ​​for shear and axial in the column components have met the performance targets with a maximum value for shear of 0.89 and for axial of 0.61. While the DCR values ​​for shear in the beam components partially exceed the performance targets with a maximum value of 1.29.

Abstract

Rapid population growth, limited developable land, and rising housing demand create increasing pressure on the urban settlement system in Balikpapan. This study aims to develop a comprehensive model to support sustainable housing planning by examining the interactions among social, economic, and environmental factors.  The study gave strategic optimization in housing and setllement planing in Balikpapan with social, economic, and environmental consideration. A system dynamics model was constructed using causal loop and stock–flow structures to simulate system behavior from 2020 to 2050. Indicator performance was assessed using an entropy-based weighting method, while efficiency was evaluated through a data envelopment analysis approach. Three policy scenarios were tested: economic growth, development of public rental housing, and a combined strategy. The results of the study indicate that the environmental output variable (green open space) experienced a significant decline from 696,800 hectares to 390,599.6 hectares. The results also show that environmental indicators consistently achieved the highest performance, followed by social indicators, while economic indicators remained the weakest due to high development costs. Therefore, recommendations for improvements in the environmental sector can provide better output results. The scenario focused on vertical public housing provides the most balanced outcome, improving social welfare while reducing pressure on land resources. These findings emphasize the importance of integrated policy planning that aligns effectiveness and resource efficiency to support sustainable urban development.

Abstract

This study addresses the seismic vulnerability of a critical hospital in Lamongan, Indonesia, built using outdated codes. The novelty lies in using Nonlinear Time History Analysis (NLTHA) to evaluate site-specific retrofitting for healthcare facilities. By integrating Fluid Viscous Dampers (FVD’s), the research assesses inelastic structural responses under Imperial Valley, Loma Prieta, and Northridge records. Results show that FVD’s reduce base shear by 39.83% in the X-direction and 66.8% in the Y-direction. Despite higher mode effects at mid-levels, the system successfully curbs the top floor whipping effect by 29.12%, safeguarding sensitive medical equipment. For future research, it is recommended to implement nonlinear FVD modeling and life cycle cost analysis to further optimize seismic protection. These findings demonstrate that FVD retrofitting is essential for ensuring post-earthquake hospital functionality, providing a robust framework for upgrading high risk infrastructure in seismic prone regions.

Abstract

This study develops an interpretable Random Forest workflow to predict silk fabric quality from simulated physical material feature data. The model uses 150 controlled observations with eight predictors: fabric thickness, fabric weight, thread density, tensile strength, elasticity, luster, softness, and surface defects. The simulated values were generated with class-specific truncated normal distributions based on measurable textile properties, standard testing variables, and domain assumptions. Data were evaluated using a stratified 80:20 holdout, stratified 5-fold cross-validation, weighted accuracy-related metrics, and confusion matrix analysis. Random Forest achieved 0.87 holdout accuracy, 0.88 precision, 0.87 recall, and 0.87 F1-score. It showed competitive performance against KNN, Decision Tree, SVM, ANN, and XGBoost while providing direct feature-importance interpretation. Surface defects, tensile strength, and thread density were the most influential predictors. The main contribution is a reproducible simulation and interpretation framework for early-stage silk fabric quality prediction. Because the dataset is simulated, the results demonstrate method feasibility and require validation with real textile production or laboratory data.
