Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to review the current literature, both theoretical and empirical, which discusses Islamic Crowdfunding (ICF) and highlights future research directions.Methodology - This study is qualitative research, with the type being a literature review. The data search was carried out by searching the Emerald Publishing data base from the early 2016 – september 2023 period, using content analysis as a data analysis tool.Findings - During the period early 2016 – september 2023, 30 pieces of literature about ICF were detected in the Emerald Publishing data base. This literature is studied from various perspectives, such as studies in the perspective of sharia (Islamic law) / Sharia Complaint;, ICF is also studied from several sharia contracts (such as Mudharabah, Musyarakah Mutanaqisah, Salam, Murabahah, and Qard Hasan);, ICF is also studied from a donation perspective and as an alternative model for waqf institutions;, and ICF is also studied in the context of entrepreneurship, micro-enterprises, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs);. This research highlights that all the current literature contained in the data base paves the way for future research. However, this research looks at some of the ICF literature that is still little seen and could be a direction and challenge for future research, such as the Salam-based CF proposed by Saiti et al (2018) to apply to agricultural sector financing. Furthermore, recently, CF was proposed for housing finance, such as the model offered by Ma Md Taib (2023) and Ma et al (2023) who proposed a new housing affordability solution by combining the Islamic financial concept of Musyarakah Mutanaqisah with the cooperative and CF models.

Purpose – This research aims to analyze the effect of service attributes, including halal food and beverages, sharia-compliant hotel facilities, sharia-compliant hotel operations, and Sharia-compliant hotel design, to revisit Sharia hotels in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas with halal awareness as a moderating variable.Methodology – The data utilized consisted of 150 respondents who are Muslim consumers who have previously stayed and revisited Sharia hotels in the Jabodetabek area. Sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and processed through partial least squares (PLS) analysis.Findings – This research found that Sharia-compliant hotel operations and design significantly and positively influence consumers' intention to revisit Sharia hotels in Jabodetabek. However, halal food and beverages, as well as Sharia-compliant hotel facilities, ddid not have a significant impact on repeat visits. Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the influence of shocks in macroeconomic variables on the Sharia index and sustainable index represented by ISSI and JII as the Sharia index and SKEHATI as the sustainable index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. By studying the impact of macroeconomic shocks on the aforementioned indices, it is hoped to provide guidance for investors and stakeholders in making investment decisions and taking appropriate precautions in fluctuating market conditions.Methodology – Descriptive quantitative analysis with VAR/VECM analysis to examine the shocks of macroeconomic factors to the three indices. The data used consists of the data from the last 10 years from Bloomberg’s terminal.Findings – From this study, it was found that JII can respond to macroeconomic shocks more quickly compared to ISSI and SKEHATI. SKEHATI is the dominant factor influencing the Sharia index, including ISSI and JII.Keywords: impact, Islamic index, macroeconomic shocks, sustainable index, VAR/VECM

Abstract

Purpose –The rapid development of research on Sharia financial literacy and financial behavior is not in line with the slow development of Indonesia's Sharia financial literacy index and Sharia financial behavior. Thus, it is necessary to conduct an evaluation that can map previous research and determine the direction of future research development. This study aims to determine the trend and direction of the development of Sharia financial literacy research and Sharia financial behavior and to identifying emerging trends in Sharia financial literacy and behavior.Methodology - The methodology used bibliometric analysis. This research uses 1990-2023 data with the keywords: financial literacy, Sharia financial literacy, sharia financial literacy, digital financial literacy, financial behavior, sharia financial behavior, Sharia financial behavior, investment behavior, saving behavior, sharia financial decisions, and financial decisions. Data searching with Indonesian and English in Google Scholar. Research analysis using VOSViewer.Findings - The results obtained 49,162 documents with 11 clusters of research trends in Sharia financial literacy and Sharia financial behavior. The author who contributed the most to producing works was Annamaria Lusardi, with 258 research documents. The most frequently used keywords are financial literacy, investment behavior, consumer behavior, and financial decision. The direction of research for future research developments can choose to use the keywords Sharia financial literacy, sharia financial literacy, digital financial literacy, saving behavior, consumer behavior, investment behavior, and sharia financial decisions. Abstract

Purpose – The high enthusiasm of society for green sukuk has brought great potential for the development of Sharia financial industry in the future. However, there hasn't been much research done on green sukuk. Therefore, this research attempted to fill the gap by analyzing factors that could affect the interest of both the millennial and z generation to invest in retail green sukuk.Methodology - The research data were collected by exerting a purposive sampling technique through a questionnaire and analyzed by using SEM-PLS estimation.Findings - This research finding referred to the positive and significant effects of religiosity, risk, and environmental concern on interest to put investment in retail green sukuk variable. Meanwhile, subjective norm and product knowledge variables have shown positive but not significant effects on interest to put investment in retail green sukuk. This research was expected to be a consideration for green sukuk publishers and regulators to be able to encourage the advance of retail green sukuk.

Abstract

Purpose -This study aims to identify and examine the empirical literature of the past eight years (2017-2024) regarding the utilization of sharia governance in Islamic Banks in Indonesia and its impact on the trust and loyalty of Islamic bank customers.Methodology -The research methodology adopted was a systematic literature review conducted through literature exploration in the undergraduate google database with the help of Publish or Perish (PoP) software. A total of 640 articles addressing Islamic governance were initially identified and then screened using the covidence web based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and alignment with the research questions outlined in this systematic literature review, resulting in a final selection of 20 articles for review.Findings -The findings of the investigation explain that the dominant research approach used by scholars is quantitative, utilizing various statistical analysis techniques, including multiple linear regression analysis and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Islamic banking institutions in Indonesia have integrated sharia governance practices, utilizing various tools rooted in the principles of good corporate governance and sharia compliance. The results of this systematic literature review indicate that effective Islamic governance within Islamic banks in Indonesia has been proven to foster customer trust and loyalty.

Abstract

Purpose - this study is to analyze the Muslim community’s intention to provide waqf for the agricultural sector using Islamic religiosity variable, variables in the theory of planned behavior and variable of waqf knowledge.Design / Methodology / Approach - this study is survey method with quantitative approach and Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) as analysis tool. This study processes data from the questionnaires distributed to 574 respondents living in various provinces as samples.Findings – the study show that all exogenous variables have a positive effect on endogenous variables, except for Islamic religiosity. Apart from that, the attitude variable is able to mediate the positive influence of the level of Islamic religiosity on intentions to give waqf in the agricultural sector.Practical Implications– This research makes a significant contribution to the literature on productive waqf and can be a reference for stakeholders in developing waqf programs in Indonesia, especially in the agricultural sector which has great potential but has not been utilized optimally.Originality/Value– This research fills a gap in the existing literature by examining waqf intentions in the agricultural sector, an area that has been minimally researched previously. In addition, this research modifies and expands the use of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by including the waqf knowledge variable to better understand the intentions of the Indonesian Muslim community in providing waqf in the agricultural sector.
