Abstract

Living life as a former drug addict poses significant challenges. Holistically, the impact felt will be very heavy to live. However, life goes on and as a former drug addict is required to improve bad life into a healthy and better quality. The purpose of this study is to explore the description of quality of life in former drug addicts. The method used was qualitative with a descriptive phenomenological design. The participants involved were 3 former drug addicts using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that quality of life physically, psychologically, socially, and environmentally varied in meaning by the three participants. Although, the three participants continue to learn to improve their lives, there is no denying that there are still internal judgments that are expressed about their existence as former drug addicts. Furthermore, the process of improving themselves and their lives continues to be carried out by the three participants by continuing to try positive things to realize a life that has a positive impact on themselves and the environment, in order to achieve quality of life in totality. Social support is important from family, friends, and close people to former addicts, so that they can see opportunities for self-esteem. Future studies should explore social interventions to educate communities on providing holistic support to former drug addicts to overcome the challenges of reintegration.

Abstract

Being a student in higher education requires each individual to have the sensitivity to adapt and recognize the scope of lectures independently. The presence of several inclusive universities in Indonesia creates a sense of acceptance, especially for individuals with limitations in carrying out activities, especially lecture activities. It is undeniable that students with disabilities experience difficulties and obstacles and a different dynamic process from non-disabled students. The challenges and obstacles experienced by students with disabilities can affect the decrease in learning motivation so that it leads to learning fatigue both due to the lack of equitable distribution of supporting facilities for students with disabilities and the responsibilities and roles that must be carried out by students with disabilities. The purpose of this research is to find out the portrait of academic well-being of students with disabilities in inclusive universities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive narrative design. The participants of this study were 3 students with disabilities using snowball sampling technique. Data collection conducted by researchers is using semi-structured interview techniques. The results found that the lack of equitable facilities in inclusive universities is one of the reasons students with disabilities still experience obstacles in undergoing lectures. However, this does not prevent the three participants from continuing to undergo lectures because each individual has positive academic well-being and has social support from the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Being single for some adult women who live in a society that has standards to get married soon will have negative impacts, such as receiving negative stigma, demands, and feelings of shame. These negative impacts can make single adult women have low self-esteem and high fear of being single. The hypothesis of this study is that acceptance and commitment therapy can increase self-esteem scores and decrease fear of being single scores in single adult women. This research using mixed method of quantitative & qualitative. The research design is a single case experimental design. Quantitative data were obtained using the Rosenberg self-esteem scale and the fear of being single scale. Qualitative data were obtained through observation and interviews of single experiences. Analysis of quantitative data using paired sample t-test & trend analysis, and qualitative data using descriptive description. The ACT intervention consists of 7 sessions, where each session lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. It was found that acceptance and commitment therapy successfully increased self-esteem scores and decreased fear of being single in single adult women. Acceptance and commitment therapy helped participants to accept and embrace their condition, provided a ‘locker’ for negative experiences and emotions, fought cognitive distortions, and facilitated participants to find their principles and goals in life.

Abstract

Previous research has investigated how religious commitment relates to mental health and well-being through correlational studies and latent variable models. However, few studies have employed a network analysis approach to examine the reciprocal interactions among these variables. Consequently, this study utilizes network analysis to assess the connections between religious commitment, mental health, and well-being among Muslims in Indonesia, refers to data from the fifth Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS 5) carried out in 2014-2015. For our analysis, we focused on the Muslim population and included only those who identified as Muslim. With this criteria, we obtained a total sample of 28,392 individuals. EBICglasso network model display node religiosity (religious commitment) had a direct negative association with restless (mental health problem), effort (mental health problem), and trouble (mental health problem) and had a direct positive association with life satisfaction (well-being), happiness (well-being), and lonely (mental health problem). on the other hand, node prayer (religious commitment) had a direct negative association with lonely (mental health problem) and had a direct positive association with economic status (well-being), health status (well-being), and fearful (mental health problem). Nodes pengajian (religious commitment) had a direct negative association with trouble (mental health problem) and had a direct positive association with effort (mental health problem), and could not (mental health problem). In conclusion, a bidirectional influence between religious commitment, mental health and well-being should be considered.

Abstract

This study uses quantitative research methods. The population and samples used were students. The research instrument was a questionnaire, namely aspects of task commitment, self-leadership and self-efficacy. The data analysis method used is SEM-PLS. The results showed hypothesis 1 there is an influence of self-leadership (X) on self-efficacy (M). This influence can be seen from the strength of the relationship (R-value) of 0.542 which is classified as sufficient with an R Square value of 0.293 or 29.3%. This means that the self-leadership variable has a direct effect of 29.3% on self-efficacy. Hypothesis 2 of this study is the effect of self-efficacy on task commitment. This hypothesis is proven correct because the significance value is 0.000 <0.05. The effect can also be seen in the Summary table with an influence strength value (R-value) of 0.549 and a coefficient of determination of 0.302 or 30.2%. This means that the self-efficacy variable (M) has a direct effect of 30.2% on task commitment. Hypothesis 3, namely that there is an effect of self-leadership on task commitment through self-efficacy, this hypothesis is proven by the significance value in the regression coefficient table of 0.000 <0.05. while the calculated R value is 0.580. the coefficient of determination obtained a value of 0.336 or 33.6%. This means that the variables of self-leadership and self-efficacy have an indirect effect of 33.6% on task commitment.

Abstract

Interpersonal intelligence is a crucial aspect of student development, particularly in fostering healthy social relationships. However, verbal bullying in the school environment can negatively impact interpersonal intelligence. This study aims to analyze the effects of verbal bullying on the interpersonal intelligence of sixth-grade students at State Elementary School (SDN) Pesurungan Kidul 2 Tegal. This research employed a mixed-method approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques. A total of 35 respondents—including teachers, students, and parents—participated in this study. Qualitative data were gathered through observations and in-depth interviews, while quantitative data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and thematic analysis. The findings reveal that verbal bullying contributes to a decline in students’ interpersonal intelligence, characterized by reduced empathy, low self-confidence, and difficulties in collaboration. The quantitative results indicate that 77% of students experience negative impacts such as anxiety, insecurity, sadness, and difficulties in social interaction and teamwork. This study underscores the need for school intervention policies, including anti-bullying education programs and increased teacher involvement in monitoring students' social interactions.
