Abstract

Emerging adulthood is a transitional phase characterized by instability and uncertainty, which can lead to psychological distress among individuals transitioning from high school to adulthood. This study utilized an experimental design to assess the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) training in improving subjective well-being and self-compassion. We recruited 18 emerging adults, specifically those who had recently graduated from high school, with 8 individuals in the experimental group and 10 in the control group. The training comprised four sessions, each lasting two hours. The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) were used for measurement. Data analysis using independent sample t-tests indicated significant improvements in subjective well-being and self-compassion in the experimental group compared to the control group. The effects of the intervention remained strong at the 3-week follow-up. These findings suggest that ACT training is effective in enhancing subjective well-being and self-compassion among emerging adults experiencing psychological distress.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of Employee Engagement through Servant Leadership, Training, and Self-Efficacy on Employee Performance. This research uses quantitative methods and questionnaires distributed to employees at international cargo expedition companies. The analysis tool used was SmartPLS version 3 software. The research results revealed that servant leadership had a positive impact on employee engagement in international cargo expedition companies, while training also had a positive impact. However, self-efficacy does not have a significant effect on employee engagement or performance. Theoretical contributions suggest that employee engagement can mediate the relationship between servant leadership and employee performance, and vice versa. The findings of this research are useful for the human resource department. However, this research has the limitation of researchers only focusing on employee performance and involvement in freight forwarding companies. This study recommends further research in other organizations.

Abstract

This study employs a research and development (R&D) method, specifically using the ADDIE model. The stages in this research include: (1) the analyze stage; (2) the design stage; (3) the development stage; (4) the implementation stage; and (5) the evaluation stage. The purpose of this research is to develop a socio-drama technique guide containing TRINGA (Ngerti, Ngeroso, & Ngelakoni) values and to test the effectiveness of this socio-drama technique in preventing microaggression behaviors among junior high school students. The instrument used to measure the level of microaggressions behavior is the microaggressions questionnaire, which consists of 49 valid statement items. Based on the validation results from guidance and counseling experts, instructional media experts, cultural experts, and prospective user testing, the guide has met the acceptability criteria and is highly suitable for use. Based on small group test results analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05 was obtained, indicating that group guidance using the socio-drama technique with TRINGA values is effective in preventing microaggression behaviors among junior high school students. Meanwhile, the Mann-Whitney test results showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a difference between the experimental and control groups. It can be concluded that the sociodrama technique incorporating TRINGA values is more effective in preventing microaggressions among junior high school students than discussion and problem-solving techniques. Future researchers are advised to incorporate other cultural values relevant to the region of the research subjects.

Abstract

The first five years of marriage are filled with role transitions in an individual's life. Therefore, dyadic coping strategies, especially stress communication, are important for maintaining marital satisfaction. Personality traits such as authenticity also play a role in this dynamic. Authenticity affects how individuals are able to communicate openly about their stress, thereby also affecting how they feel about their marriage. Participants in this study are 1228 Indonesian citizens in the first five years of marriage. Stress communication was measured by Stress Communication dimension in Dyadic Coping Inventory (DCI), Authenticity was measured with Kernis-Goldman Authenticity Inventory Short Form (KGAI-SF), and Marital satisfaction was measured using Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS). Interestingly, the moderation analysis shows that authenticity plays a significantly negative moderating role in the relationship between stress communication and marital satisfaction in the first five years of marriage. This suggests that when individuals become too authentic in their relationship, the positive effect of stress communication on marital satisfaction is weakened.

Abstract

Online gender-based violence (OGBV) in Indonesia has experienced a significant increase in 2023 compared to the previous year. OGBV is a term that refers to acts of violence or sexual harassment, especially targeting women, which are carried out through internet technology. Teenagers are a generation of digital natives who are highly dependent on internet technology. Engaging in harmful content online has also been shown to pose a danger to physical and mental health. Understanding adolescents' perceptions and attitudes towards OGBV is a crucial step in efforts to overcome and prevent it. This study aims to: 1) Identify adolescents' perception of OGBV based on gender and social background; 2) Analyze adolescents' attitudes towards OGBV based on gender and social background. This quantitative survey design took the research subjects of high schools in Semarang, approximately 30882 adolescents in 16 sub-districts in Semarang with a random sampling technique using a total of 545 respondents. Because the data was not normally distributed, the data analysis used The Mann-Whitney U test and The Kruskal-Wallis H analysis. The results of the study show that women's perception is better than men's. The higher the socio-economic status, the better the perception of OGBV. Women's attitudes are higher than men's attitudes towards OGBV. There was no significant difference in OGBV's attitude based on socioeconomic status.

Abstract

Bullying continues to be a significant problem in educational settings, adversely affecting the psychological, physical, and social well-being of kids. This study investigates the difficulties and solutions for preventing and mitigating bullying among Vocational High School (SMK) students in Banjarmasin, Indonesia. Data were gathered via written and semi-structured interviews with four guidance and counseling educators from public and private vocational institutions Using a qualitative research methodology and case study design. The thematic analysis identified three primary challenges: the perception of bullying as a "joke," the impact of social media and the social context, and the difficulties of emotional regulation in adolescents. In response to these difficulties, schools are adopting various strategic approaches, including traditional services, anti-bullying policies, a WhatsApp hotline for reporting incidents, and collaborative initiatives that include all stakeholders within the school community. This research underscores the significance of technology integration and community engagement in fostering a secure and inclusive educational atmosphere. These findings substantially enhance the formulation of successful educational policies and anti-bullying initiatives.
