Abstract

The coffee shop micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are receiving considerable attention from the government due to their swift development over the last decade. The growth of coffee shop businesses is reflected in the rising number of locations, increased customer demand, and higher coffee production in Indonesia. A significant challenge for coffee shop MSMEs is their limited understanding of business digitization, which hampers their ability to seize opportunities in the coffee beverage sector. This initiative is designed to improve MSMEs' knowledge of business digitization in coffee shops. The program took place on October 28, 2022. The training methods incorporated lectures, interactive question-and-answer sessions, case studies, and role-playing exercises focused on e-promotion tools such as e-reviews, e-commerce, online communication platforms, e-catalogs, and social media. A total of 20 MSMEs participated in this event. The findings show a boost in understanding among coffee shop MSMEs regarding business digitization following the training session.

Abstract

East Belitung Regency has significant natural, social, and economic potential that remains underutilized for improving community welfare. This community service activity aimed to map regional potential and problems while formulating priority programs for participatory local economic development. Using participatory mapping with a Rapid Appraisal Method approach, data were collected through structured and in-depth interviews, field observations, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Respondents were selected using snowball and purposive sampling, involving village officials, community leaders, youth, women, and local business actors. The activity was conducted on October 5, 2024, as a collaboration between universities, businesses, and the community. Five priority programs were identified: local resource-based crafts, digital MSME strengthening, fisheries and processed seafood development, educational tourism and environmental preservation, and integrated homestead farming with food security. These programs align with community needs and regional potential, providing a foundation for targeted, inclusive, and sustainable empowerment initiatives in East Belitung Regency

Abstract

According to the Financial Services Authority (OJK), financial literacy constitutes the knowledge, skills, and confidence that influence attitudes and behaviors in decision-making and financial management to achieve financial well-being. This understanding is crucial from an early age, particularly for Generation Z, who are growing up in a digital era and facing increasingly complex financial dynamics. This Community Service (PKM) activity, conducted by lecturers from Kalbis University at SMK Handayani Manggar, East Belitung, aims to enhance students' financial literacy through direct education on personal financial management. The activity was held on December 12, 2024, using a participatory approach that covered personal financial management, the distinction between needs and wants, savings and investment, and financial management strategies tailored for Generation Z. The indicators of success for this activity were evident from the high level of enthusiasm and active participation of 85 students in discussion sessions, improved understanding shown by the students' ability to identify spending priorities, and a strong desire to implement independent personal financial recording post-activity.

Abstract

Hypertension affects approximately 30% of the population in Sedati District, with Tambak Cemandi Village representing a community characterized by a high proportion of elderly residents. Interviews with the local midwife indicate that around 100 elderly individuals regularly participate in elderly health post (posyandu lansia) activities, the majority of whom are affected by hypertension. In response to this, a community service initiative was implemented to deliver targeted education on complementary therapy, specifically progressive muscle relaxation, as a strategy to support blood pressure and stress reduction among elderly individuals with hypertension. The intervention employed a structured approach, incorporating lectures, demonstrations, and interactive discussions. Facilitators provided direct instruction and demonstration of the progressive muscle relaxation technique, followed by participant practice to reinforce skill acquisition. Of the 68 participants, 77% exhibited hypertension with blood pressure exceeding 130/80 mmHg, and 76% reported moderate stress levels. Post-intervention, participants demonstrated the ability to independently perform progressive muscle relaxation and reported subjective improvements in comfort, with the potential for continued practice at home using facilitator-provided materials. These findings suggest that education and training in progressive muscle relaxation can enhance knowledge and self-management capabilities among elderly individuals with hypertension, supporting blood pressure control alongside pharmacological treatment.
