Abstract

The rise of radicalism and intolerance, particularly among young people with limited access to credible religious information in digital media, poses a serious challenge to national harmony. Religious education in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) plays a strategic role in preventing the spread of extremism. This community service activity was conducted at Institut Ummul Quro Al-Islami (IUQI) Bogor through the YouTube platform during the second and third weeks of July 2025 at the IUQI campus podcast studio. The method employed was Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving students actively in the design and production of dialogical podcast content. The results show that podcasts are an effective medium for promoting moderate, inclusive, and contextual understandings of Islam. Students were trained to think critically, reject fanaticism, and serve as agents of peace in society. Publishing the content through YouTube effectively reached a wider and younger audience in a modern way. Therefore, this program not only benefited the students but also expanded the dissemination of religious moderation values within the broader community.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance teachers’ competencies in identifying and addressing students’ reading difficulties. The main problems observed among students included weak articulation skills and low phonological awareness, which contributed to inadequate foundational literacy abilities. The training was conducted at Darussalam Elementary School on September 6, 2025, and involved 20 participants consisting of kindergarten, elementary, and junior high school teachers. The training employed lectures, group discussions, and hands-on practice, with a focus on articulation and phonological exercises. The evaluation was carried out using the Kirkpatrick model at the reaction and learning levels through feedback questionnaires, pretests, and posttests. The results indicated a significant improvement between participants’ pretest and posttest scores, demonstrating the effectiveness of the training in strengthening teachers’ understanding of the causes of reading difficulties. Observational data further supported these findings by showing improved accuracy in participants’ pronunciation of letters. Despite these positive outcomes, several technical challenges were encountered, such as large group sizes and suboptimal classroom conditions. Overall, the training proved effective and is recommended for continued implementation with improvements in technical and management aspects.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to provide solutions to the challenges faced by batik entrepreneurs, particularly Batik Jasminar in Tanjung Bumi Village, Bangkalan. The program focuses on the application of environmentally friendly technology and increasing production capacity through the use of automatic lorot machines. The lorot machine implemented in this program successfully speeds up the wax removal process from 30–40 minutes to just 10–15 minutes per piece of fabric. Additionally, the program includes training on the use of locally based natural dyes and digital marketing strategies, aimed at reducing reliance on synthetic dyes, enhancing the competitiveness of batik products, and expanding market reach. By applying appropriate technology and improving craftsmen's skills, it is expected that local batik products will be able to compete in both domestic and international markets with better quality, environmentally friendly processes, and greater innovation. This program also has a positive impact on improving quality, cost efficiency, and more sustainable business management. Ongoing evaluation and mentoring are required to ensure the sustainability and long-term positive impact on batik artisans in the Indonesian village.

Abstract

Indonesia, with the largest Muslim population in the world, holds great potential in developing a sharia-based economy, including halal tourism. However, rural areas such as Tegalsari Village in Malang Regency have not fully optimized their local natural resources for halal tourism development. A community service program aimed to enhance community understanding of halal tourism and its economic opportunities. The program targeted village officials, local entrepreneurs, and youth representatives, employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The main activity consisted of a one-day socialization involving 20 participants. Interactive discussions were also conducted to explore certification procedures, sharia-based economic practices, and village asset management. Reflection was carried out using a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure knowledge improvement, while evaluation was conducted through a pretest-posttest design analyzed using the Paired T-Test. The results indicated a significant increase in participants’ understanding of halal tourism concepts and local potential. Participants recognized that halal tourism is both religiously meaningful and strategically important to enhance village competitiveness, strengthen the local economy, and empower MSMEs. This program highlights that community involvement and knowledge dissemination are essential first steps in building sustainable and participatory halal tourism in rural areas.

Abstract

This Student Creativity Program (PKM) aims to enhance the production capacity and quality of the fish bread enterprise through the implementation of appropriate technology grounded in the principles of the green economy, emphasizing environmental sustainability. The program focuses on the development and application of environmentally friendly production tools, including an energy-efficient electric oven with an automatic temperature controller, stainless-steel corrosion-resistant molds, and hygienic anti-rust worktables. These technological innovations are designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce production time, and ensure food safety and hygiene in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The implementation results demonstrate an increase in production capacity by 30–50%, achieving more uniform and hygienic product quality while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions through decreased reliance on firewood. Beyond production improvement, the program also encompasses training in financial management and digital marketing to expand market reach and enhance the partner’s competitiveness. This holistic approach fosters the transformation of small-scale enterprises toward sustainable business models that integrate economic efficiency, social welfare, and environmental preservation.
