Abstract

This research aims to analyze how the Social Pedagogy approach can be used in building a culture of tolerance in schools. Social Pedagogy as an educational approach emphasizes the importance of social interaction as well as the development of social and emotional skills to create an inclusive environment. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach. The analysis was conducted using the content analysis method, which includes identifying the main concepts, categorizing the data, synthesizing the results of previous research, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the implementation of Social Pedagogy in schools can strengthen tolerance values through a social experience-based curriculum, collaborative learning, and the role of teachers as facilitators who guide students in understanding diversity. This approach also proved effective in building students' social awareness and improving cross-cultural communication skills. With support from various parties, including educators, parents, and inclusive education policies, Social Pedagogy can be an effective strategy in shaping a generation that is more open, empathetic, and respectful of differences.

Abstract

Substance abuse is often associated with violent behavior, particularly in patients with mental disorders such as schizophrenia. The combination of psychotic symptoms and the psychoactive effects of substances can worsen impulse control and increase the risk of aggressive actions. This study aims to analyze the relationship between substance abuse and violent behavior in patients with schizophrenia. This quantitative study employed a descriptive correlational design. The sample consisted of 100 respondents who met the inclusion criteria, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed online via social media. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression tests with SPSS software. The findings revealed that substance abuse significantly affects violent behavior (p < 0.05). The regression coefficient of 0.947 indicates a positive relationship between the two variables. The R² value of 0.621 indicates that 62.1% of the variance in violent behavior can be explained by substance abuse, while the remaining 37.9% is influenced by other factors. This study found that substance abuse is a significant factor influencing violent behavior in patients with schizophrenia. Rehabilitation-based interventions for substance abuse and emotional regulation, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), are essential to reduce the risk of violence in this population. This study provides empirical evidence for developing more holistic policies and intervention programs in managing patients with schizophrenia and substance abuse.

Education is a fundamental principle in shaping the character of children. Thus, education becomes important in internalizing character values that must be contained in curriculum design. Because basically, the curriculum is a reference to determine the direction of education. Therefore, this study aims to explore the newest curriculum, namely the Merdeka Curriculum. In addition, this research is also intended to find the philosophical basis in the Merdeka Curriculum, educational praxis in the Merdeka Curriculum, and how the relevance of the Merdeka Curriculum is in the development of character education. Abstract

Prambanan Temple is a world heritage site that has high historical, cultural and spiritual value. As a tourist destination, Prambanan Temple attracts millions of visitors every year, both from within and outside the country. On the other hand, this temple also has a sacred function as a worship center for the Hindus of the archipelago. This dual utilization presents various opportunities and challenges. Opportunities that arise include increasing public awareness of Hindu cultural heritage, strengthening religious identity, and contributing to the economy through the tourism sector. However, challenges include the potential for excessive commercialization, degradation of sacred values due to high tourist activity, and debates over management policies between religious and tourism interests. Therefore, a holistic approach and balanced policies are needed to ensure the sustainability of Prambanan Temple as a cultural heritage site as well as a spiritual center for Hindus.

Abstract

Grounding fundamentalism in the perspective of Hinduism is a complex issue and requires in-depth analysis of the basic principles of universal Hindu teachings and how they are applied in modern life. Fundamentalism in the context of religion usually refers to rigid efforts to maintain a literal interpretation of the Holy Scriptures and traditions that have become traditional in life. In Hinduism, which has many branches of philosophy, beliefs, and practices that vary in diversity, the concept of fundamentalism faces its own challenges. Hindu teachings are inherently pluralistic, with texts such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and various commentaries from Hindu philosophers, offering room for broad and flexible interpretations. Thus, efforts to apply fundamentalism tend to be at odds with the essence of Hindu teachings which are tolerant and adaptive to changes in the times. This paper aims to examine how the concept of fundamentalism can emerge in the context of Hinduism, what factors influence its journey, and its impact on pluralism and harmony between religious communities in society. Through a historical, theological, and sociological approach, hopefully this article can provide insight into the dynamics between pluralistic Hindu teachings and fundamentalist tendencies that may develop in certain situations and will certainly face challenges that are not easy. From a Hindu perspective, efforts to avoid fundamentalism require a comprehensive strategy based on the basic principles of Hinduism, including tolerance, plurality, living in harmony, diversity in diversity, wasudhaiwa kutumbhakam, respecting humanism and ahimsa (non-violence). As an inclusive religion, Hinduism recognizes that there are various paths to spiritual freedom and universal truth. Seeing this reality, by understanding, practicing and thoroughly practicing the teachings of the Vedas to prioritize the importance of community peace and openness to differences, is one way to anticipate fundamentalism in Hinduism. The basis for preventing radicalism and extremist views are religious values that emphasize the principles of tolerance, mutual respect, and respect for cultural and religious diversity. In addition, interfaith cooperation and dialogue are important means to foster a shared understanding of peace and harmony. In this sense, Hinduism offers a strong intellectual and ethical foundation to neutralize radicalism in all forms by promoting human brotherhood and universal morality.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the Nundung Bhuta Kala Mythology during the Nyepi Holy Days as a form of ethical conditioning for Hindus in Bali. This research is a qualitative descriptive type because it focuses on analyzing non-numerical data. The data for this research comes from the stories of Hindus in Bali regarding the mythology of nundung bhuta kala during the holy day of Nyepi. Data analysis in the research was carried out by following Miles and Huberman's stages; data collection was followed by reduction, presentation, and verification/drawing conclusions. The results of this research reveal that there is an element of ethical conditioning of Hindus in Bali in the Nundung Bhuta Kala Mythology, a series of Nyepi Holy Days. Nundung Bhuta is interpreted as steadfastness against external temptations and avoidance of bad habits. There are three variants of ethical conditioning that occur, such as individual ethics, social ethics, and ecological ethics. Individual ethics is an internal and autonomous aspect of every human being. Sociological ethics displays the way humans relate harmoniously to other people. Ecological ethics shows efforts to preserve the natural environment, which is a place for humans to shelter. Keywords: Nundung Bhuta Kala Mythology, Nyepi, Ethical Conditioning, Balinese Hinduism

Abstract

Abstract

The exercise of authority and competence by midwives is a critical component in ensuring the quality and safety of healthcare services, particularly in primary midwifery care. This study aims to analyze the legal aspects of the implementation of midwives’ authority and competence by alumni of the Bachelor of Midwifery Program in Buleleng Regency, based on prevailing regulations such as Law No. 4 of 2019 on Midwifery, Minister of Health Regulation No. 28 of 2017, and the Indonesian Midwifery Competency Standards. The research applied a normative and empirical legal approach through document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and field observations. The findings indicate that most alumni have exercised their authority and competence in accordance with regulations; however, challenges remain in the field, such as limited infrastructure, high workload, and insufficient legal awareness. These findings highlight the need to strengthen the health law curriculum in midwifery education, improve practice supervision, and promote continuous dissemination of professional regulations. This study contributes to the development of a legally compliant, safe, and professional midwifery practice governance system.

Abstract

Death is a certainty experienced by every living creature, including humans. In the Hindu belief system, the Spirit that leaves the physical body will be followed by its karma wasana and will have an impact on rebirth (punarbawa). The process of the spirit's journey after leaving the physical body, for Hindus in Blitar will be given respect through a thanksgiving. The death thanksgiving begins on the first day of death until the thousandth day, and some people still continue the death thanksgiving after a thousand days, which is known as the pengeling-eling thanksgiving which has no end. This phenomenon is the reality of the Hindu community in Blitar Regency in carrying out the teachings of pitra yadnya. The Selamten tradition is one of the rituals of people aimed at asking for safety in the form of a feast event. The salvation ritual becomes the soul in the lives of Javanese Hindus. Pengeling eling is a death thanksgiving ritual after the thousand-day thanksgiving event and is carried out to coincide with the pancawara, sapta wara and sasih days of death. The series of pengeling-eling includes nyekar, offerings and a feast event. The Nyekar event is held at the grave by scattering flowers and boreh and reciting prayers to the ancestors using Javanese. The offerings event is held before the kenduri procession which is held in a certain place by offering various foods, drinks and prayers carried out by one of the family representatives. The kenduri event is the peak event of the southern pengeling-eling. Kenduri invites close neighbors to witness the pengeling-eling. Prayers are read by the tukang ujub and after finishing reciting the prayers, the offerings given by the prayer are divided equally to the guests who are present to be eaten together and the sides are taken home in the form of blessings. The series of pengeling-eling events include various flower, fruit, drink and food facilities complete with ingkung arranged into an ambeng. The pengeling-leing celebration facilities are a reflection of pitra yadnya in Hindu teachings. The completeness of the facilities used in the pengeling-eling event is only as a mediation for spiritual communication between the living family and the deceased. Verbal communication is carried out by reciting the pengeling-eling prayers.
