Abstract

Along with the development of the Muhammadiyah organisation, especially the Muhammadiyah Branch Leadership in Pajangan, it was only natural for organisational management and human resource capacity building to be enhanced. Since before the pandemic, the Muhammadiyah organisation in the Pajangan area has been rapidly growing, with one of the developments being the emergence of autonomous Muhammadiyah organisations. Some autonomous organisations that had begun to emerge include the Muhammadiyah Youth, LazisMu, and Nasiyatul Aisiyah. Therefore, competent human resources were needed to develop these organisations, one of which was at the LazisMu Pajangan Office. This community service activity would utilise the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, which involves community participation in the development process of an activity. The activities to be carried out in this regard included conducting group discussion forums, providing training for the LazisMu Service Office managers, upgrading financial management with direct guidance from the LazisMu Regional Office in Bantul, and branding the service office through social media. The activity was conducted from January to March 2023, and the training participants were approximately eight daily managers of the LazisMu service office in Pajangan. Based on the community service activity results, it could be concluded that the LazisMu service office managers in Pajangan understood how to manage administration in the service office. This was because the training provided positively impacted the office managers, especially in understanding the flow and administration bookkeeping in LazisMu services.

Abstract

Barito Kuala Regency, especially Jejangkit District, lags behind other regions in South Kalimantan regarding human resources. According to the BPS of South Kalimantan Province, the Human Development Index for Barito Kuala Regency is in 13th position out of 14 districts from 2020 to 2022. Education is a strategic aspect of overcoming this problem. Teachers need to receive training on literacy and numeracy learning strategies to improve the quality of human resources, especially students in the younger generation. This community service activity aims to strengthen the literacy and numeracy competencies of elementary school teachers who are members of the Jejangkit District KKG by integrating learning with local wisdom. Local wisdom is contextual so students can more easily understand learning that is close to everyday life. This service activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which consists of five stages, namely to know, to understand, to plan, and to act in the form of On Service Training and On Job Training, as well as to change in the form of In-Service Training activities. This activity involved one trainer and 15 teachers representing 12 elementary schools in the Jejangkit District KKG. A total of 3 teachers from 3 schools also received intensive assistance in practising the material as examples for other participants. The evaluation instrument for this service program uses a questionnaire. Based on the data collected, this activity was successful in providing improvements in literacy and numeracy learning. The average post-test score (81.71) was higher than the pre-test (69.73). The teachers succeeded in designing learning that made students more focused on learning. This activity implies that teachers have succeeded in improving the competence and quality of learning in the classroom, especially literacy and numeracy for their students.

Abstract

Mangrove forests are a unique ecosystem and are important in providing life support for coastal communities. The community group (Kelompok Kariangau Lestari) is a community in Kariangau RT 02 Village that has yet to receive intensive training or socialization regarding the diversification of mangrove derivative products. Mangrove plants are not used properly, so they are only left to grow wild around residential areas. The settlement around the mangrove is used as a tourist attraction, namely Jembatan Panjang Mangrove Kariangau. Still, this tourist attraction is not optimal because the long bridge is the only attraction, and the bridge has been damaged, so there is no longer a source of income for residents. Therefore, this community service activity aims to train community groups to utilize mangrove fruit as a processed food product to attract tourism to the Jembatan Panjang Mangrove Kariangau and increase residents' income. This activity began with observing the condition of the mangrove forest and holding discussions with the local community regarding efforts to increase mangrove forest productivity. In this activity, minimizing processing tools was also carried out to make processed food products and determine the right formulation for processed food products. The evaluation was carried out in two discussions, namely product evaluation, with the result that residents could accept the product as consumers, and activity evaluation, with the result that residents felt this activity was very useful for increasing the current use of mangrove plants.

Abstract

This program was proposed to overcome food problems, limited land for farming and additional income for the society in urban areas.  The aquaponics in the bucket technique is a relevant solution to be implemented nowadays for urban communities faced with the increase in food prices issue on the market, as reported by target partners. Implementing aquaponics also has the potential to be an alternative income as this produces commodities with selling value. The implementation of this program involves PKK RW members in Bangunharjo as potential partners due to their background as housewives with a high need for a variety of food ingredients and a source of additional income for the family. This program was implemented for six months, from April until September 2023, covering the preparation, practice, evaluation, and assessment stages using the Participatory Learning and Action method. The results showed quite satisfactory results, with an average of 2 harvests of plants being carried out by each partner group and a mortality rate of farmed fish of 16% or 45 of 280 catfish fingerlings.

Abstract

An analysis of the impact of the socialization and technical guidance program for Implementation of Independent Curriculum Independently was conducted to encourage the operationalization of educational units, particularly teachers, to access, learn, complete, and adapt teaching materials available on Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) This involves using and utilizing the results of minimum competency assessments in class to design meaningful learning. The methods employed in this community service are socialization programs/in-service training and technical guidance/in-service training for Implementation of Independent Curriculum Independently. In-service training is an activity aimed at increasing the quality of educational personnel in performing their duties as professional teachers, particularly in utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for learning, such as adapting PMM to use and utilize the results of minimum competency assessments in class to design meaningful learning. The findings of this community service program include a participant satisfaction survey, where forums for teachers such as teacher working groups have successfully emphasized teaching focused on students' learning achievements (teaching at the right level). Teachers have been able to conduct formative assessments at the beginning of the learning process to assess students' learning achievements. In conclusion, Implementation of Independent Curriculum Independently is reflected in formulating learning outcomes, becoming learning objectives, and ways to achieve these learning objectives. This is demonstrated during the community service workshop, where teachers have successfully adapted to PMM by using and utilizing the results of minimum competency assessments  in class to design meaningful learning.

Abstract

Kalisongo Village is located in Malang Regency with a topography consisting of 60% undulating plains and 40% hilly undulating plains, with increasingly steep slopes to the west. The main focus of this community service activity is to improve the quality of settlements by enhancing waste management systems by providing trash bins and cleaning school facilities to support the comfort of kindergarten students. In Kalisongo Village, the condition of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan 1 Kalisongo kindergarten school building is quite concerning due to its location in an alley and the impact of the pandemic on the quality of school facilities. The residential area in Kalisongo Village already has a waste transportation system to the Supit Urang landfill, with waste being collected by designated personnel from each household. Residents place their waste in front of their houses without trash bins, often leading to scattered waste, affecting the cleanliness and aesthetics of the environment. This community service was carried out using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, involving activities to improve and enhance learning facilities for kindergarten students and increase awareness of household waste management through socialization and the placement of trash bins in each household. This aimed to boost residents' enthusiasm for managing waste and maintaining a clean environment. The activity was conducted from September to December 2022 and successfully improved the cleanliness and comfort for Dharma Wanita Persatuan 1 Kalisongo kindergarten students and the residents of Kalisongo Village. This is evidenced by the enthusiasm of the 38 kindergarten students welcoming a cleaner school building and the active participation of residents in waste management introduction and the distribution of 30 trash bins to village residents.
