Abstract

This study aims to analyze the synergy of rationalism of Islamic Religious Education and the Among System in forming religious moderation in Tamansiswa Junior High School Medan. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type to deeply understand educational practices that integrate the values of religious rationality and the educational philosophy of Tamansiswa. The research subjects include Islamic Religious Education teachers, school principals, students, and relevant institutional documents. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, documentation, and descriptive questionnaires, then analyzed using interactive models through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that rationalism in pendidikan agama Islam learning encourages students to understand Islamic teachings critically, reflectively, and contextually through discussion, problem-solving, and case study methods. Meanwhile, the implementation of the Among System through the principles of Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madyo Mangun Karso, and Tut Wuri Handayani creates a humanistic, dialogical, and democratic learning environment. The integration of these two approaches contributes to the strengthening of religious moderation which is characterized by the development of tolerance, respect for diversity, the ability to dialogue openly, and the tendency to resolve differences through deliberation and peaceful approaches. These findings confirm that the synthesis of rationalism of pendidikan agama Islam and the Among System is an effective educational model in forming a moderate, inclusive, and civilized religious character in the school environment.

Abstract

Residential fires are among the most frequent disasters occurring in densely populated urban areas and often generate significant social, economic, and environmental impacts. This study aims to analyze community perceptions of fire prevention and fire management efforts in Dr. Sutomo Street, Alley 8, Sidodadi Village, Samarinda Ulu District, Samarinda City. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of community experiences, knowledge, and perceptions regarding fire risk. Research participants consisted of officers from the Samarinda City Fire Department, neighborhood leaders, and residents affected by fire incidents, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the community holds positive perceptions of government-led fire prevention programs, including public awareness campaigns, training on the use of portable fire extinguishers (APAR), the establishment of Fire Volunteers (Redkar), and the PRO-BEBAYA Program. The major fire incident in 2024 emerged as the primary factor shaping community risk perceptions and increasing awareness of the importance of preparedness. Enhanced preparedness is reflected in the availability of fire-fighting equipment at both household and neighborhood levels, improved community capacity to undertake initial fire response actions, and high levels of participation in fire mitigation activities. Nevertheless, the study area remains highly vulnerable due to building density, the predominance of wooden houses, narrow access roads, and limited water resources. This study concludes that fire experience, community knowledge, and community-based mitigation programs play a crucial role in shaping risk perception and community preparedness. These findings contribute to the advancement of risk perception studies within the disaster context and provide a basis for strengthening community-based fire mitigation policies in densely populated urban residential areas.

Abstract

Quality education always relies on the effectiveness of learning and the accuracy of evaluation. This study aims to empirically examine the contribution of students' perception of the quality of objective tests to the achievement of their Indonesian language learning outcomes. The approach used was quantitative non-experimental with associative/causal Ex Post Facto design of 60 respondents (N = 60). Data were collected using a Likert scale closed-ended questionnaire for test quality perception variables (construction dimensions, substance, and psychometric) as well as objective test pure values for learning outcome variables. The results of the prerequisite test showed that the data were normally distributed and linear (p = 0.792 > 0.05). Furthermore, the hypothesis test using Pearson Product Moment correlation yielded a correlation coefficient value of r = 0.949 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.01. These results prove that there is a very strong and significant positive relationship between students' perceptions of test quality and their learning outcomes. Thus, students' mental representation of evaluation tools is a crucial factor that determines their academic performance. The implication of this study emphasizes that teachers not only need to pursue the empirical validity of the questions, but also must ensure that evaluation instruments are designed fairly, clearly, and free from ambiguity in order to minimize the external cognitive burden of students.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze the neutrality of village heads in the implementation of the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in Maros Regency; (2) analyze the factors influencing the non-neutrality of village heads during the Pilkada in Maros Regency; and (3) identify the forms of non-neutrality practiced by village heads during the Pilkada in Maros Regency. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of 17 participants, including representatives from the Regency Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), villagelevel election supervisors, community leaders, youth leaders, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted through three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that: (1) regarding the neutrality of village heads in the implementation of the Pilkada in Maros Regency, there were two forms of non-neutral behavior committed by village heads during the 2024 Pilkada process. Furthermore, public knowledge regarding village head neutrality was generally adequate, although some community members still lacked understanding of the concept. In terms of regulations, village heads were aware of and understood the legal provisions concerning neutrality, although some failed to remain neutral in practice. Likewise, most community members were familiar with the regulations governing village head neutrality, while a small number remained unaware. (2) The factors influencing the non-neutrality of village heads consisted of: (a) external political pressure and influence; (b) village aspirations and interests; and (c) legal awareness and political culture.

Abstract

This study analyzes the textbook Mari Belajar Bahasa Arab by Drs. H. Maman Abdul Djaliel, M.Ag., based on W.F. Mackey’s theory and the principles of Deep Learning, with a focus on the content and presentation for first-grade students at the Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Ula (MDTU). This study employs a qualitative approach with a content analysis design, using the textbook as the primary data and scientific literature as supporting data. Data were collected through documentation and literature review, utilizing instruments based on the four aspects of Mackey’s theory (selection, gradation, presentation, repetition) and the three principles of Deep Learning (mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning). Analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results indicate that the textbook meets all four aspects of Mackey’s theory: content aligned with the curriculum and student characteristics; gradation from simple to complex concepts; presentation using differential, ostensive, illustrated, and contextual procedures; and repetition through the reuse of vocabulary and sentence patterns across chapters. From a Deep Learning perspective, the principles of mindful and meaningful learning are achieved through contextual, integrated content. Although the textbook is structurally sound, it does not fully support joyful learning because it lacks diverse activities, visual appeal, and opportunities for feedback and self-reflection. Therefore, textbook evaluations should consider both structural features and the overall quality of the student learning experience.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the image of women in the fairy  tale of Lake Raja and Putri Bunga Harum by Ahmad Ijazi H. This study is motivated by the importance of understanding the representation of women in children's literature and folklore as a medium that helps shape people's views on women. The research uses a qualitative approach with a content analysis method. The source of research data is in the form of the fairy tale text  of Danau Raja and Putri Bunga Harum by Ahmad Ijazi H., while the research data is in the form of narratives and dialogues that contain images of women. Data analysis was carried out through intensive reading, identifying data, classifying data based on women's image categories, interpreting the meaning of data, and drawing conclusions. This research uses Sugihastuti's theory of women's image which divides women's image into self-image and social image. The validity of the data is carried out through theoretical triangulation by comparing the findings of the research with the concepts of feminist literary criticism and relevant previous research. The results of the study showed that there were 31 data that represented the image of women. The data consisted of 21 self-image data and 10 social image data. Self-image includes physical image and psychic image. The physical image is displayed through the depiction of beauty, elegance, body health, and the specialties of the figure of Princess Bunga Harum who is depicted as having the fragrant scent of flowers. Psychic image is shown through intelligence, politeness, gentleness, compassion, loyalty, courage, and having determination in fighting for his desires. The social image of women is represented through the role of women in the family and society, such as maternal roles, social concern, respect for women, and the position of women as an important part of the kingdom's social structure. The findings of the study show that psychic imagery is the most dominant image so that women in fairy tales are not only represented through physical aspects, but also through personality qualities and social roles that they have.

Abstract

This research seeks to analyze the impact of three factors, namely Gamification Strategy, Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL), and Microlearning Content, on Vocabulary Mastery while using Learning Motivation as a mediator. A cross sectional survey was implemented in this study, which adopted a quantitative approach and an explanatory research framework. Purposive sampling was employed to select 150 students enrolled in English Language Education and English Literature programs at various Indonesian universities. Data collection occurred through a 5 point Likert scale based online questionnaire. The analysis of the data relied on SmartPLS software, specifically using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM) method. The results demonstrate that Gamification Strategy has a positive and significant impact, affecting both Vocabulary Mastery and Learning Motivation. Microlearning Content also proved to have a positive and significant effect on Vocabulary Mastery and Learning Motivation. In contrast, MALL showed no significant effect on either Vocabulary Mastery or Learning Motivation. Furthermore, Learning Motivation proved to have a significant effect on Vocabulary Mastery. The mediation test results indicate that Learning Motivation was able to mediate the effect of Gamification Strategy and Microlearning Content on Vocabulary Mastery, but was unable to mediate the effect of MALL on Vocabulary Mastery. This study affirms that the integration of gamification and microlearning within a mobile-based learning ecosystem is more effective in enhancing vocabulary mastery than the use of mobile technology alone. The findings of this study provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of more interactive, adaptive, and learning motivation-oriented digital technology-based vocabulary learning strategies for students.
