Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of principal leadership and teacher educational background on teacher performance, with organizational culture as a mediating variable at SMKN 1 Batu, a Center of Excellence Vocational High School. A quantitative approach with an explanatory design was employed. The sample consisted of 52 teachers selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires with a Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that principal leadership, teacher educational background, and organizational culture each have a positive and significant direct effect on teacher performance, with organizational culture exhibiting the strongest influence. Furthermore, organizational culture serves as a significant mediator in the relationships between both principal leadership and teacher educational background on teacher performance. This study contributes a novel empirical insight by positioning organizational culture as a key mediating mechanism in the context of vocational education excellence, thereby offering practical implications for school leaders and policymakers. Specifically, strengthening leadership capacity, enhancing teacher qualifications, and fostering a collaborative school culture are essential strategies for achieving sustainable improvements in teacher performance.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Discovery learning-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the topic of "Infak and Sadaqah" in the Al-Qur'an and Hadith course for eighth-grade students in Class VIII-A at MTsN 1 Rantauprapat to enhance their analytical skills. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) developed by Thiagarajan et al. (1974). Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based test instruments consisting of essay questions administered as pretests and posttests. The results indicate that the developed worksheets achieved an average validity percentage of 93.12% (Highly Valid), an average practicality percentage of 96.41% (Highly Practical), and an N-Gain Score of 0.82 (High/Effective). These findings demonstrate that the Discovery learning-based worksheets are valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students' analytical skills at the C4 level of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy, encompassing the sub-skills of differentiating, organizing, and attributing. The systematic integration of the six stages of Discovery learning into the worksheet activities guides students to develop their analytical skills in studying the material on infak and sadaqah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze school branding based on meaningful learning in promoting student well-being in elementary schools. The novelty of this research lies in its integration of meaningful learning, school branding, and student well-being within a single analytical framework. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects include the principal, 8 teachers, and 12 students of SDN Bakipandeyan 01 Sukoharjo. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The research results show that school branding can be built through meaningful learning and contribute to realising student wellbeing in elementary schools. In-depth, contextual, and sustainable learning processes shape the school's image as a learning environment that supports the realisation of student wellbeing (student voice, sense of belonging, positive relationships, participation in school life, and feeling valued and respected). Thus, strengthening school branding is not only through image building but also grows from the learning experiences that students actually feel. Therefore, teachers and schools need to optimise the learning process to strengthen branding and student wellbeing.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the perception of history teachers towards the deep learning approach in history learning at SMA Negeri 3 Pamekasan and analyze the suitability between teachers' perceptions and classroom learning practices. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Research data was obtained through interviews, learning observations, and document analysis in the form of teaching modules. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification, while the validity of the data is tested through triangulation techniques. The results of the study show that history teachers have a positive perception of the deep learning approach. Teachers view history learning not only as a process of mastering facts, figures, and chronology of events, but as a process that encourages learning awareness, meaningful understanding, and fun learning experiences through the principles of mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning. This perception has been reflected in the planning and implementation of learning through the use of collaborative strategies, learning media, contextual activities, and reflection activities. However, the implementation of deep learning is still in the development stage because learning is more oriented towards increasing student involvement than developing historical thinking skills in depth. This research shows that teachers' positive perceptions are an important foundation in the application of deep learning, but strengthening pedagogical competence is needed so that history learning is able to develop students' analytical skills, interpretation, and critical reflection.

Abstract

This study examines how the local wisdom embedded in the Chinese–Balinese cultural acculturation of Lampu Hamlet, Catur Village, can be integrated into the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) within the Merdeka Curriculum. Unlike previous studies that primarily discuss local wisdom as cultural content, this research highlights living cultural acculturation as a contextual pedagogical resource for character education and identity development. A qualitative case study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Kintamani using participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving teachers, students, and school staff. The findings reveal that the values of tolerance, mutual cooperation, religiosity, social harmony, and cultural awareness embedded in Chinese Balinese acculturation provide authentic learning experiences that support the implementation of P5. More importantly, the study identifies a four-stage process of value internalization understanding, experiencing, reflecting, and character formation that enables students to reconstruct their local cultural identity while strengthening the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. These findings demonstrate that living cultural acculturation can function not only as local cultural heritage but also as an innovative contextual learning resource for implementing the Merdeka Curriculum and fostering multicultural character education

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of the competency mapping of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) through a model of simplifying the organizational structure of the regional apparatus at the Ogan Ilir Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), identifying the supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulating an optimal competency transformation model. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with an interpretive-constructivist paradigm. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model which included data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the simplification of the organizational structure has changed the orientation of ASN management from an administrative approach to a competency-based approach through strengthening functional positions and utilizing the results of competency mapping in placement, career development, and ASN competency development. This transformation is supported by leadership commitment, bureaucratic reform regulations, and the use of information technology, but still faces obstacles in the form of budget limitations, integration of competency data that is not optimal, and limited management resources. This research produces a competency mapping transformation model that integrates position analysis, technical, managerial, and socio-cultural competency mapping, digitization of competency data, competency development based on organizational needs, as well as the application  of talent management and succession planning to support a professional, adaptive, and merit-based bureaucracy.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of teachers' interactional teaching style on fifth-grade students' motivation to learn the Indonesian language at Elementary School. Preliminary observation indicated that classroom participation remained low, with an average active involvement of only 35.4 percent across three sessions, a condition suspected to relate to teaching practices that had not fully optimized two-way dialogue and personal feedback. A quantitative correlational approach was employed through an explanatory survey with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 96 fifth-grade students, from which 61 students were drawn as the sample through cluster random sampling covering two class groups. Data were collected using two Likert-scale questionnaires that had passed validity and reliability testing, then analyzed through descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression. The results show that the regression equation is expressed as Ŷ = 15.966 + 0.482X, with a correlation coefficient of 0.520 and a coefficient of determination of 0.270. The t-test produced a calculated value of 4.675 against a table value of 2.001 at a significance level of 0.000018, indicating that the null hypothesis is rejected. These findings confirm that interactional teaching style contributes a positive and significant influence of 27.0 percent to students' learning motivation, while the remaining 73.0 percent is explained by factors outside the model. The study concludes that strengthening dialogic interaction and personal feedback in classroom practice is a strategic pathway for improving elementary students' motivation to learn Indonesian language.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital communication has accelerated the dissemination of information while increasing the spread of misinformation, disinformation, and fake news. Although contemporary journalism employs various fact-checking mechanisms, limited attention has been given to the potential contribution of classical Islamic scholarship to modern information verification. This study examines the applicability of hadith validity criteria as a conceptual framework for verifying the credibility of digital news. A qualitative library research approach was employed through the analysis of classical hadith literature and contemporary studies on journalism, digital media, and information verification. The findings indicate that the five criteria of hadith validity ittisal al-sanad, 'adalah, dhabt, shudhudh, and 'illah can be operationalized as sequential indicators for identifying information sources, assessing source credibility, verifying factual accuracy, conducting cross-verification, and detecting hidden inconsistencies. These criteria collectively establish a multi-layered verification model that integrates technical verification with ethical accountability. The novelty of this study lies in reconceptualizing classical hadith authentication as an interdisciplinary framework that bridges Islamic epistemology and contemporary communication studies. The proposed framework contributes to media literacy by providing an ethically grounded approach that complements existing fact-checking practices and supports more responsible information verification in the digital era.
