Abstract

The illegal trade of protected wildlife constitutes a serious form of environmental crime that continues to evolve, particularly through the use of social media as a platform for illicit transactions. This study aims to examine the modus operandi of protected wildlife trafficking conducted via social media, analyze law enforcement efforts undertaken by the North Sumatra Regional Police, and identify the obstacles faced in enforcing the law. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory and conceptual approaches, supported by an analysis of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The findings indicate that wildlife trafficking has shifted toward digitally based and covert practices, posing significant challenges to conventional law enforcement mechanisms. Although the North Sumatra Regional Police have implemented both penal and non-penal measures, their effectiveness remains limited due to resource constraints, difficulties in digital evidence gathering, and low public legal awareness. Therefore, strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing inter-agency cooperation, and fostering a supportive legal culture are essential to optimizing the enforcement of laws protecting wildlife and ensuring ecological sustainability.

Abstract

Although regulations regarding data-driven planning have been established, implementation in the field often faces challenges where data use tends to be limited to administrative fulfillment and has not been fully integrated with school management functions. This study aims to analyze the integration of management functions of planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling data-driven planning as a strategic mechanism for improving the quality of learning. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design at SMP Negeri 2 Taman, research informants were determined using a purposive sampling technique involving the principal, curriculum development team, teachers, school administration, and the school committee. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results showed that the school successfully synergized management functions with the Identification, Reflection, and Improvement cycle. Planning used the Education Report to identify priority problems, organizing utilized data reflection for role allocation, implementation was realized through In-House Training programs and learning communities, and control was carried out through periodic monitoring and evaluation. It was concluded that data-driven management is effective only if supported by teacher data literacy and leadership capable of transforming data into real pedagogical interventions, not just a document formality.

Abstract

Museums are often considered attractions that are sufficient to visit only once. Therefore, understanding what elements can encourage museum visitors to return becomes important. This study aims to understand the influence of service quality, perceived value, visitor satisfaction, and revisit intention to museums. Data analysis in this study used SmartPLS 4.0 to test the relationships among variables based on survey data using a quantitative method. The model was tested for validity and reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha, Composite Reliability, and Average Variance Extracted values. The results show that service quality has a significant relationship with perceived value and visitor satisfaction. Perceived value has a positive impact on visitor satisfaction. Visitor satisfaction has the greatest impact on revisit intention. Visitor satisfaction as a mediator strengthens the relationship between service quality, perceived value, and revisit intention. This study implies that future researchers need to further explore the factors that make visitors feel satisfied and comfortable to revisit museums.

Abstract

This study discusses the socio-economic conditions of street vendors in the Kwitang Book Market in the period from 2002 to 2008. The purpose of this research is to find out in depth the development of the used book trade, socio-economic dynamics, and identification related to the regulation that occurs in the Kwitang Book Market. The type of method used in this study is the historical method. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, archival tracing and media reports compared with literature reviews. This study shows that the Kwitang Book Market has experienced an increase in economic activity influenced by location, transportation, and developing popular culture. The social dynamics that occur between street vendors at the Kwitang Book Market are characterized by the close relationship between traders who form social capital to support the sustainability of their businesses. The dynamics that occurred must stop when the government implemented a control policy to restore sidewalks as green open spaces. This of course has a significant impact on traders who have to give up their livelihoods.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the legal arrangements regarding the position, authority, and responsibilities of curators in the process of settling bankruptcy assets based on Law Number 37 of 2004 concerning Bankruptcy and Postponement of Debt Payment Obligations, as well as examining the role of curatorial organizations in providing legal protection against the risks of civil, criminal, and ethical lawsuits faced by curators. This study uses a normative juridical method with a legislative and conceptual approach. Data were obtained through documentation studies, observations, and interviews, then analyzed descriptive-analytically. The results of the study show that the existing legal arrangements have not comprehensively regulated the limits of curatorial authority and accountability, thus creating legal vulnerabilities in practice. Curatorial organizations play a role in providing preventive protection through education and code of ethics, as well as repressive protection through advocacy and legal assistance. However, limited organizational authority and resources hinder the effectiveness of protection, so it is necessary to strengthen regulations and institutions.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop and evaluate a Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based digital Student Worksheet (LKPD) to improve Indonesian language learning outcomes for fifth-grade students in Cluster 4 of Tabanan District. Using a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the study employed a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design involving 56 fifth-grade students divided into experimental (PjBL-based digital LKPD) and control (conventional printed LKPD) groups. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. Validity testing yielded an overall mean score of 3.48 (>3.00), categorized as "very feasible," with Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.87. Practicality assessment showed 87.47% positive responses from teachers and students, indicating high usability and acceptance. Effectiveness testing revealed a statistically significant improvement in the experimental group (t = 7.842, p = 0.000 < 0.05) with a normalized gain (N-gain) of 0.52 (medium–high category), compared to the control group (N-gain = 0.23). These findings demonstrate that the PjBL-based digital LKPD is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing both learning outcomes and student engagement in Indonesian language instruction. The product aligns with the Merdeka Curriculum's emphasis on active, collaborative, and contextual learning experiences for elementary students. This is an open access article under the CC–BY-SA license.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an interactive digital picture story-based learning media that is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing reading literacy among fifth-grade elementary students in Cluster 2 of Mengwi District. Using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the study involved 28 fifth-grade students and one classroom teacher at SD Negeri 2 Mengwi. Data were collected through expert validation sheets assessing content, language, and visual design; teacher and student practicality questionnaires; and reading literacy tests (pretest–posttest). Validity testing yielded an overall score of 88.6%, categorized as "very valid." Practicality assessment showed an average score of 88.7%, indicating high usability and acceptance by both teachers and students. Effectiveness testing revealed a statistically significant improvement in reading literacy scores, increasing from 65.21 (pretest) to 82.43 (posttest) with p = 0.000 (< 0.05). Normalized gain (N-gain) reached 0.49 (medium category), confirming meaningful enhancement in students' text comprehension abilities. These findings demonstrate that the developed media successfully integrates visual, textual, and interactive elements to create engaging, culturally relevant reading experiences aligned with Mayer's (2021) Multimedia Learning Theory and Vygotsky's (1978) constructivist principles. The media represents a viable innovation for Indonesian language instruction that transforms passive reading into active, meaningful literacy development.

Abstract

This study analyzes the service strategies of the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP2PA) of Samarinda City in handling victims of sexual violence from a strategic management perspective, which includes planning, implementation, and evaluation. A structured service strategy is crucial to ensure that the handling of sexual violence victims is carried out effectively, coordinated, and responsive to the needs of the victims, especially amidst the increasing cases of violence against women . The findings indicate that the service strategy planning has been systematically formulated in the Action Plan and Work Plan (RENJA) documents, which include objectives, programs, performance indicators, and budget allocations. The implementation of the strategy is carried out thru cross-sector synergy, complaint mechanisms, legal and psychological assistance, and an integrated referral system involving law enforcement agencies, health institutions, and legal aid organizations. Additionally, strategy evaluation is conducted thru control mechanisms and performance assessments to ensure the achievement of service targets. However, this study also reveals several challenges, including budget constraints, inadequate number and capacity of human resources, suboptimal cross-sector coordination, and low public awareness in reporting sexual violence cases. These constraints limit the effectiveness of service strategies in producing more substantial protection impacts. This study concludes that strengthening institutional capacity, increasing budget support, optimizing coordination, and enhancing community participation are essential to realizing a more effective and sustainable victim protection service system for sexual violence.
