Abstract

Postpartum depression is a depression syndrome that occurs in mothers after childbirth and can be prevented and cured. According to Fazraningtyas, in South Kalimantan, to be precise in the city of Banjarmasin, namely Ulin General Hospital of Banjarmasin and Dr. H.M. Ansari Saleh General Hospital of Banjarmasin showed 56.8% mild postpartum depression, 26.1% moderate postpartum depression, 17.0% severe postpartum depression. The impact of mothers experiencing postpartum depression is that mothers have difficulty interacting and can endanger their children. Postpartum depression is caused by several factors, the factors that contributed are complications in pregnancy. This study used a literature review approach. The articles obtained from Google Scholar, Biomed Central, and Pubmed. The criterias applied be restricted. As many as 10 journals are found. Based on the previous study, complications in pregnancy are the cause of postpartum depression. Complications that are often experienced by pregnant women are maternal anemia that can appear during the pregnancy process until the birth process occurs and 30-70% of pregnant women with maternal anemia have a risk of postpartum depression. Second, gestational diabetes is one of the complications of pregnancy that occurs in women who are pregnant. Pregnant women can increase hormones including the progesterone hormone, human placental lactogen estrogen, and cortisol. The last, a history of depression is a cause of postpartum depression because if pregnant women have a history of depression before pregnancy, they will have a higher risk of experiencing postpartum depression.

Abstract

Amid ongoing research about, Digital Health Interventions (DHI) in Zimbabwe, is the largely overlooked impact of DHI to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. To contribute towards filling this knowledge gap, the study seeks to examine the DHI strategies that have been adopted to curb the inimical effects of COVID-19 in Zimbabwe. DHI such as telemedicine, use of social media, Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), Mobile Health (mHealth), and Healthcare Information Systems (HIS) have been disposed to curtail the spread of COVID-19. The limitations and hurdles crippling DHI are discussed extensively. This study adopts a qualitative research design, comprising personal and targeted interviews and documentary review. Preliminary findings are that DHIs are effectively working for employing routine and innovative forms of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to address health needs. However, the research noted that various factors such as corruption lack of funding, shortage of qualified workforce and medical expertise, and weak healthcare infrastructure are militating against robust deployment of DHIs. This study includes measures that can be adopted to address these challenges.

Abstract

Natural products from the aquatic organisms provide unlimited opportunities for the production of new drugs. To verify this fact in the present study ‘the biochemical profile and antimicrobial activity of different samples of the estuarine crab, Sylla serrata’ was investigated. Biochemical study of the body parts of the crab gains substantial attention for their specificity in connection to the food values of the crab and for the evaluation of their physiological needs at different periods of life. The total protein was estimated by Lowry's method and the amount of protein was highest in the soft muscle sample (20.27mg/ml). The total sugar was estimated by the Phenol-Sulphuric acid method and it was highest in the leg sample (209.8mg/ml). The lipids of the samples were estimated by Folchs method. Lipid was highest in the shell sample (28.35mg/ml). Thin Layer chromatography was done for characterization of protein. Antibiotics are used against bacterial infections. The natural products gained importance to screen antibiotics. For this reason the antibacterial activity of the samples were tested against grampositive and gramnegative pathogenic bacterial strains. The bacterial strains like Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Enterobacter aerogenes were used as the test strains. In the present study, the ethanol extract of crab sample I showed maximum zone of inhibition (13 mm) in P. aeruginosa. The sample I showed moderate zone of inhibition (11 mm) in K.pneumoniae. The sample II showed the minimum zone of inhibition (7 mm) in P. aeruginosa. It indicated that the shell of crabs would be a good source of antimicrobial agents and would replace the existing inadequate and cost effective antibiotics. The microbial associates of crustaceans have proven to be a rich source of bioactivity with antimicrobial and cytotoxic effects. So the organism used in the present study will be the promising source to the biotechnological and pharmaceutical applications.

Abstract

Family first response in patients with heart attacks is very important in increasing patient safety. Friedman's familiy theory views that the family has a major role and function indecide the prompt and appropriate course of action. Orem's Wholly Compensatory System Theory looked at that familymust provide partial assistance when a family member is sick. Theory Cultural care Leininger looked at that family tend to maintain their culture when doing help. Indonesia, especially in Banjarmasin, has different social and cultural conditions so that the experience of making its first response will of course also be different. This study aims to explore the family experience of the first response to patients with heart attacks. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological study approach to 8 participants from Banjar community in South Kalimantan with purposive sampling technique. Collecting data using in-depth interviews with a tape recorder and field notes. The method of analysis uses Creswell. There are 6 themes found namely (1) The initial understanding of a family about heart attack is in the form of menyamak or angin duduk, (2) The family's first action in a patient with an attackheart in the form of cabut angin, (3) family onset in doing his first response against attacks in the form of estimated time (4) Family delay factors in doing the first response in the form of a cause(5) The emotional response of the family in facing a heart attack such as neutral response, anxiety and shock. (6) Meaning as a helper for family members such as pride, relief and pleasure. Nurses need to rectify the culture that is in conflict with health by changing the family mindset of their understanding of diseases, especially heart attacks.

Abstract

Neonatal sepsis contributes as much as 75% in increasing the neonatal mortality rate that occurs first week of birth. Neonatal sepsis is characterized by entry of bacteria in the blood that can be life-threatening. Process of neonatal sepsis can occur very quickly, if not treated with adequate treatment, death can occur within 24-48 hours. Neonatal sepsis is affected by infant factors like low birth weight (LBW). LBW in neonates can be easily infected due to immature immune formation. The study used literature review methods. Literature sourced from five databases: Biomed Central, Plus One, Pubmed, Proquest and Science Direct. Search with PICOS framework 15 journals used to analyze and obtained. Results showed the incidence of neonatal sepsis with the percentage incidence of sepsis at 16.9%-77.8%. LBW is risk of developing sepsis with the highest percentage compared to other birth weight classifications. Majority of journals stated there was a significant relationship between birth weight and neonatal sepsis (p value: 0,0131-0,001). Nurses play a role in conducting assessment begin ranging from pregnant to the birth and give a comprehensive nursing care earlier for birth babies less than 2.500 gram. It's effort decrease incidence of neonatal sepsis.

Abstract

Breast cancer (Carsionama mamae) is cancer that originates from the glands, ducts and supporting tissues of the breast but does not include the skin of the breast. Breast cancer is the second most common cancer affecting Indonesian women and is the number one killer of women in the world (Mangan, 2005). The purpose of this study was to find the effect of education between health education regarding BSE examination and the knowledge and attitudes of young women at the Medan Tuntungan Health Center in 2020. The research method used was quasi-experimental. The population in this study were all young women who lived in the area of the Medan Tuntungan Health Center. Sampling technique with a total sampling of 34 people. The results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test, obtained p value = 0.025 (p value <0.05) meaning Ho is rejected, which means that there is an influence between the Health Department on adolescent attitudes about BSE examinations. It is hoped that adolescents can increase their knowledge about BSE examinations and be more concerned with their own health conditions so that they can detect cancer in themselves early.
