Abstract

This study aims to analysed the working system of a carcinogenic substance neutralization device for smoke or gas in enclosed spaces, using an MQ3 sensor based on Arduino Uno. Carcinogenic substances in the form of smoke or gas can pose significant health risks, especially in areas with limited air circulation. The device developed in this research utilizes the MQ3 sensor to detect harmful gases, which are then processed through Arduino Uno to automatically activate the neutralization system. The research method involves the design, assembly, and testing of the neutralization system. The MQ3 sensor functions as a detector for hazardous gases at specific concentration levels, sending data to the Arduino Uno, which triggers the activation of a fan and air filter as the neutralization system. Testing was conducted in an enclosed space to evaluate the effectiveness of the system in reducing harmful gas concentrations over a given period. The results indicate that this neutralization device effectively detects and significantly reduces harmful gas concentrations. The MQ3 sensor is highly responsive to changes in gas levels, and the Arduino Uno-based system allows for efficient automated control. With these results, the device is expected to serve as a solution for improving indoor air quality and protecting users from exposure to carcinogenic substances.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of change management on organizational innovation in higher education institutions in North Sumatra. To address these gaps, higher education institutions need to urgently develop a more adaptive and participatory change management strategy. This strategy should \ensure that all parties are involved and supporting the change process towards sustainable innovation. Using qualitative research methods, this study collects data through interviews, observations, and documentation studies in several universities. The results show that effective change management, characterized by transformational leadership, human resource readiness, and technological infrastructure support, contributes significantly to organizational innovation. However, challenges such as resistance to change, limited financial resources, and lack of training for educators remain major obstacles. Therefore, a more adaptive and participatory change management strategy is not just a suggestion, but a necessity for the optimal functioning of organizational innovation.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of communication ethics in addressing and managing negative speech within the Medan Aviation Polytechnic. The research focuses on five key factors: openness, diversity of opinions, regulations, professional ethics, and supervision. Negative speech often triggers interpersonal conflicts, reduces productivity, and disrupts the academic environment, necessitating an ethics-based approach to foster harmonious communication. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that openness facilitates healthier discussions, yet the diversity of opinions requires boundaries regulated by clear policies to prevent potential conflicts. Professional ethics are proven to be a critical foundation for constructive communication, while supervision plays a significant role in ensuring adherence to established communication norms. The study concludes that a holistic approach to implementing communication ethics is essential in mitigating the negative impacts of unproductive speech. Recommendations include strengthening ethical communication training, formulating clear internal policies, and enhancing supervision systems to support a more conducive academic environment.
