Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of high school English teachers in Banda Aceh regarding interactive multimedia learning and differentiated instruction, using a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative data (questionnaires) and qualitative data (interviews) to explore teachers' perceptions, experiences, and challenges more comprehensively. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical and thematic analysis. A total of 40 high school English teachers, members of the English Language Educators in Aceh (ELEA) community, were selected as respondents using purposive sampling. The results indicate that teachers hold highly positive perceptions of interactive multimedia learning, particularly in terms of student motivation, creativity, and learning engagement. For differentiated instruction, teachers found this method effective in improving learning outcomes and task flexibility. Recommendations from the study include enhancing technological infrastructure, providing regular training, and fostering collaboration among teachers to optimize the implementation of both methods. These findings underscore the importance of technical support and professional development for teachers to maximize the impact of technology-based and differentiated learning in the classroom.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has driven a transformation in the educational paradigm, one of which is through the implementation of deep learning-based learning strategies. Deep learning not only increases the effectiveness of the learning process, but also has great potential in developing students' critical thinking skills, which are key competencies in facing the challenges of the 21st century. However, the successful implementation of this strategy is greatly influenced by teachers' perceptions and attitudes towards the innovation. This literature study aims to examine in depth teachers' perceptions of deep learning policy and strategy implementation, the factors that influence these perceptions, and the implications for developing learners' critical thinking skills. The analysis shows that teachers' positive perceptions, supported by adequate training, adequate facilities, and systematic support, can improve the readiness and effectiveness of implementing deep learning strategies in learning. In contrast, negative perceptions and resistance to change are the main obstacles that need to be overcome through comprehensive interventions. The results of this study emphasize the importance of paying attention to perceptual aspects and supporting factors in order to increase the success of technology-based pedagogical innovations

Abstract

This analysis synthesizes scholarly literature to explore the significant link between participatory leadership enacted by school principals and the enhancement of educational quality. Participatory leadership, characterized by the distribution of control in decision-making, emerges as a unifying framework for fostering positive change within schools. The analysis reveals that this leadership style cultivates a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive environment, valuing the contributions of all stakeholders. Key dimensions of enhanced educational quality include teacher empowerment and effectiveness, the development of trust-based school climates, the promotion of innovation and adaptability, and the improvement of student engagement and achievement. By actively involving teachers, staff, and students in decision-making processes, participatory leadership creates a positive feedback loop that benefits the entire school community and aligns with established leadership theories emphasizing empowerment and collective intelligence. While challenges to implementation exist, the literature underscores the potential of participatory leadership to drive meaningful improvements in education.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Wordwall as a multimodal digital learning tool to enhance English vocabulary acquisition among third-semester PKPBI students from Tadris Mathematics and Qur’anic Interpretation majors at UIN Malang. Employing a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through classroom observations, student interviews, documentation of student tasks, and pre- and post-tests. The findings reveal that Wordwall significantly improved students' vocabulary mastery, as demonstrated by the notable increase in post-test scores across both classes. Three main strategies, Meaning-Matching Strategy (MMS), Contextual Understanding (CU), and Pronunciation and Spelling Accuracy (PSA), were effectively applied through various Wordwall features such as Matching Game, Type the Answer, Wordsearch, and Open the Box. Students reported positive perceptions regarding Wordwall’s effectiveness, motivational appeal, engagement, learning experience, and visual design. The game-based format created an enjoyable and interactive learning environment that supported retention and contextual vocabulary use. However, a few students expressed challenges related to visual complexity and internet dependency, reflecting the need to align digital tools with students’ cognitive load and accessibility. This research contributes uniquely by integrating real-time classroom observations with student reflections from two distinct academic backgrounds and emphasizing Wordwall's role in personalized, multimodal vocabulary learning. The study highlights that while Wordwall is effective, its design and implementation must be adaptable to diverse learner profiles and technological readiness.Keywordsvocabulary acquisition, multimodal learning, Wordwall, student perception, digital learning tools.

Abstract

In the context of sustainable development (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs), improving the quality of public services is an important aspect to support Goal 16, "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions." This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the quality of public services at the Bojonegoro District Education Office, highlighting the gap between the expectations outlined in regulations and the reality of service practices at the service provider unit. The research was conducted at the Bojonegoro District Education Office using a qualitative case study approach to evaluate the quality of public services in government agencies. Data collection was carried out using observation, document analysis, and interviews with non-probability sampling—purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used was flow chart analysis according to Miles-Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. In conducting the evaluation of public service quality, the framework of William N. Dunn was used, which includes criteria for assessing effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness, and accuracy. The results of the data analysis indicate an improvement in the quality of public services at the Bojonegoro District Education Office, as reflected in the results of the community satisfaction survey and the assessment of compliance with public service delivery. However, based on the analysis of the evaluation results, it is necessary to formulate constructive policy recommendations for improving the quality of public services in the future to support the achievement of organizational goals.

Abstract

The phenomenon of socio-cultural shifts in Indonesia in the digital era has become increasingly complex, particularly as Generation Z emerges as the main actor in the use of technology while simultaneously inheriting traditional values. This study aims to deeply understand the subjective experiences of Gen Z in integrating traditional values—such as mutual cooperation, politeness, and kinship—with digital cultural practices characterized by speed, individuality, and global connectivity. Using a phenomenological approach, this research explores how Indonesian Gen Z negotiates its social identity amid the dialectic between the continuity of local values and digital innovation. The findings reveal that traditional values still hold significant influence, accounting for approximately 45% to 55% in shaping digital interaction patterns, particularly in aspects of communication ethics, online community solidarity, and the expression of cultural identity on social media. Although digital culture presents challenges such as global homogenization and tendencies toward individualism, Gen Z tends to engage in a process of hybridization, adapting digital technologies without completely abandoning traditional roots. Thus, the social identity of Indonesian Gen Z is not constructed dichotomously but through dynamic interactions that produce new communication patterns while opening space for the reinterpretation of local values in a global context. This study underscores the importance of balancing digital modernity and traditional heritage in shaping the identity of the younger generation and contributes conceptually to the understanding of Indonesia's national identity amid the intensifying currents of globalization.
