Fokus publishes original research or theoretical papers about teaching and learning in Guidance and Counseling study program of IKIP Siliwangi Bandung on current science issues, namely: Guidance and Counseling educator in elementary, secondary and high school level. Guidance and Counseling observers and researchers. Educational decisions maker on regional and national level. We recommend classroom action research, qualitative, descriptive, or quantitative. We may process manuscript of didactic development research (DDR) or research and development (RnD). Our publication could be research on teaching method, an experiment of teaching aid or media, and even effectiveness of lesson study. We accepted any manuscript derived from research of Guidance and Counseling in Indonesia. We will not process manuscript from research approach of school management.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of prosocial abilities of class IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Selaawi Garut. Prosocial behavior is the manifestation of positive behavior that benefits others. Prosocial behavior is manifested in three forms of behavior, including helping, comforting, and sharing. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Selaawi Garut on 78 class IX students with quantitative approaches and descriptive study methods. Based on the research results obtained (1) the average profile of prosocial skills of class IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Selaawi Garut are in the medium category; (2) Comporting indicators occupy the high category, while honestly and helping indicators are in the medium and low categories.Keywords: Prosocial skills, Middle school students

Abstract

Bimbingan pribadi-sosial merupakan salah satu pilihan layanan dalam pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan konseling untuk siswa dalam membantu menentukan dan mengembangkan dirinya secara optimal dan mandiri sesuai dengan kewajibannya sebagai makhluk Tuhan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan bimbingan pribadi-sosial untuk anak yang memiliki self-efficacyrendah. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan pribadi-sosial di MTs YPIA Cikeris terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap evaluasi dan tindak lanjut. Bentuk layanan bimbingan pribadi-sosial untuk mengembangkan self-efficacy yang rendah yaitu dengan metode bimbingan tidak langsung dan metode bimbingan langsung adapun materi yang disampaikannya yaitu motivasi, percaya diri, harga diri, penyesain diri dan mengontrol emosi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan siswa yang memiliki self-efficacyrendah perlahan dapat menentukan dan mengembangkan kemampuan dirinya dalam lingkungan sosialnya di sekolah. Kata Kunci: Bimbingan Pribadi-Sosial, Self-efficacy.

Abstract

Early Childhood has characteristics that are characteristic include physically, socially, morally and etc. Childhood is also called the golden age which is very important for all of its life as a time of foundation formation and personality foundation that will determine the child's experience in the next life. One of the aspects developed in Early Childhood Education is the Social Emotional Aspect, one of which is related in Social Skills. To know the potential that early childhood has related to social skills, it’s important to have an instrument or measuring instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Instrument is a tool used as a tool to measure an object or collect data from a variable. An instrument is said to be good when valid and reliable. Therefore, this study aims to test the Validity and Reliability of Early Childhood Social Skills with the research TKQ Al Hasan Bandung students numbered 13 students. Validity test results are obtained in a low category, which means that polls that have been compiled tend to show results that change if tested again at different times and subjects.  Keywords:  Early Childhood, Social Skills, Validity and Reliability

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the career planning of students who are active in organizations in SMA N 1 Karanganyar. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. Data collection in this study was obtained from giving questionnaires to 35 students who were active in organizations. The results obtained from this study indicate that students who are active in organizations have a picture of a mature career planning, the results of the questionnaire data processing show that 86% are in the high category and 14% are in the medium category.Keywords: : Career Planning, Students Active in Organizing

Abstract

The attitude of children towards school has a very large effect on the success or failure of children's education in school. A positive attitude towards school, teachers, and towards friends will be a great encouragement for children to have good relationships. In this research, the approach chosen is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were 5 students. The results showed that the implementation of group guidance services showed many changes, although not all of them. In general, this change is felt very well in the learning process in this class IX SMP.Keywords:  Motivation, Education to college

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of students' interpersonal communication skills. As for the aspects taken in interpersonal communication are the aspects of openness, empathy, equality and a positive attitude. This research was conducted on the subject of students of class XI as many as 156 students. In this study using quantitative descriptive methods with techniques  data collection through interpersonal communication questionnaires. The scale used is  linkert scale which contains statements of indicators of several aspects of interpersonal communication. The results obtained show that students with low interpersonal communication categories are 12%, moderate interpersonal communication categories are 66% and high interpersonal categories are 22%, thus it can be concluded that students who have low interpersonal communication need group guidance services to develop their competence. can live the life to comeKeywords: : Interpersonal communication, group guidance services

Abstract

Self-adjustment is an individual's effort to achieve harmony with himself and his environment, so that feelings of hostility, envy, jealousy, prejudice, depression, anger and negative emotions as inappropriate and inefficient personal responses can be eroded out. From this understanding, self-adjustment is a natural and dynamic process that aims to change individual behavior so that there is a relationship that is more appropriate to the conditions of the environment. Seeing how important self-adjustment is for individuals even for students in new environments, a measuring tool is needed in the form of an self- adjustment questionnaire. This study uses research and development (R&D) development research to develop and validate educational products in the form of an self-adjustment questionnaire. The self-adjustment questionnaire required validity and reliability tests. The subjects of this study were students of SMA Negeri 1 Cipongkor. The results of the validity test of the self-adjustment questionnaire stated that 13 statements were valid and their reliability was 0.718 which was categorized as high from the 30 statements that the researcher made from 28 respondents.Keywords:  Self-Adjustment, Validity, Reliability

Abstract

Discipline is a condition in which all students understand and are aware of compliance with the rules in the school, as the technology of the student's behavior towards school rules begins to shift to a decrease in student awareness of obeying school rules. This research aims to find out the picture of students' awareness of discipline at SMP Negeri 4 Cipeundeuy. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and types of phenomenological research. The data collection technique used is interview. The results of the study revealed that the low awareness of the school rules is because students can not control themselves against the negative influence of the surrounding environment among others; friendship with an environment that is not already in school, students feel that clothes that comply with the school rules are considered incompatible with their character/ geeky, home environment that is not conducive because of parental quarrels that make students fight also in school.  Keywords: : Student awareness, Discipline.
