FOKUS : Kajian Bimbingan dan Konseling dalam Pendidikan
Fokus publishes original research or theoretical papers about teaching and learning in Guidance and Counseling study program of IKIP Siliwangi Bandung on current science issues, namely: Guidance and Counseling educator in elementary, secondary and high school level. Guidance and Counseling observers and researchers. Educational decisions maker on regional and national level. We recommend classroom action research, qualitative, descriptive, or quantitative. We may process manuscript of didactic development research (DDR) or research and development (RnD). Our publication could be research on teaching method, an experiment of teaching aid or media, and even effectiveness of lesson study. We accepted any manuscript derived from research of Guidance and Counseling in Indonesia. We will not process manuscript from research approach of school management.

Career maturity is one of the most important aspects in adolescent development, especially high school students (SMA) are in the exploration stage, namely the search for identity to make mature career decisions. However, there are still many high school students who do not have good career maturity. Therefore, guidance and counseling teachers are expected to guide students in determining their careers, one of which is group guidance usingtechniques self-management. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The data collection techniques used were observation and interviews. The results showed that the condition of the student's career maturity began to grow, due to the handling provided by the counseling teacher through a series of services, one of which was group guidance services with self-management techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine how the self-concept of students who experience smoking addiction. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with descriptive research type. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews. The results of the study revealed that students' self-concept of smoking arose because of the results of their interactions with the environment, where smoking among their fellow students was considered normal and even considered a stylish and cool thing, so they thought smoking was not a wrong thing. The purpose of this study was to determine the self-concept profile of class VIII students so that it could be seen the number of students who had a positive self-concept and the number of students who had a negative self-concept. Self-concept is a relationship between attitudes and beliefs about ourselves. Self-concept is an ongoing process along with individual growth and development. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. The research sample was 32 students of class VIII A SMPN 3 Baleendah. The technique of collecting data is by distributing self-concept questionnaires. Based on the results of distributing self-concept questionnaires, it can be concluded that students who have a positive self-concept are in the low category of 4 people, 24 people in the medium category and 4 people in the high category.Keywords: : Self-concept, students, developmental tasks

The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of students' motivation withdrawal at SMPN 1 Sucinaraja. Students withdraw or break away are students who show escape, both attention or interest in the social environment. The sampling technique in this study used a nonprobability sampling technique with a sample of 51 students. Researchers interested of SMPN 1 Sucinaraja. Based on the results of the study It is expected that students' motivation in SMPN 1 Sucinaraja is in the medium category with the distribution of students 2% withdrawal has a very low motivation to learn, 33% of students who have learning withdrawal by learning in the low category, 29% of orangutans who have the ability to learn in the medium category, 35% of school people have the motivation to learn in the very high category and none of the students who have the motivation to learn the category is very high. Of the four aspects of learning motivation used in data mining, the aspect of confidence is the lowest aspect of student motivation in withdrawal at SMPN 1 Sucinaraja.Keywords: Learning motivation, Withdrawal Students of SMPN 1 Sucinaraja.

This research is motivated by the current pandemic condition which affects the implementation of guidance and counseling services, especially career guidance services for students of SMK Nuurul Muttaqiin, where currently students experience confusion in career choices and decisions. This is aimed at the results of observations to students of SMK Nuurul Muttaqiin class XII, during this pandemic they have difficulty in determining the appropriate choice of work and choice of university majors because they do not get optimal and direct guidance from counselors or counselors. The form of efforts made in counseling guidance services to provide students with understanding of career maturity, namely through career guidance services. This research was conducted with a qualitative research approach. The data collected in this study are data obtained by means of interviews, observation and documentation study. The subjects in this study were five students who had difficulties in determining careers after graduating from vocational school and BK coordinators. The form of career counseling services at SMK Nuurul Muttaqiin begins with several stages, namely classical guidance, group guidance, and individual counseling.Keywords: career guidance, career maturity.

The purpose of this study was to determine the learning motivation of broken home students at SMPN 2 Kersamana. The approach used is a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The subjects in this study were 2 students who experienced a broken home. Techniques in data collection are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that broken home students were not only due to divorce but could also be due to lack of love from their parents, the death of one of our parents, so that it could have an impact on childhood, especially early adolescence, impacting their physical and psychological condition, including the academic development.Keywords: Broken home, Learning Motivation

The purpose of this research is to study whether there is a relationship between learning independence and motivation to learn in class VIII students of SMPN 6 Garut. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMPN 6 Garut. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique so that research samples are obtained as many as 56 people. The research method uses quantitative correlational design with product estimation data analysis techniques based on learning motivation questionnaire data and student learning independence. Analysis of the data received with the application of spss 22 obtained significant research results between learning independence and learning motivation of grade VII students of SMPN 6 Garut with a comparison value of 0.822 in the category of very strong positive relationships. Hoping to learn while improving the learning of learners will increase.Keywords: : Learning motivation, learning independence

Achievement motivation has an important role in education, besides acting as an encouragement for students to achieve optimal achievement, achievement motivation also plays a role as a determinant of learning outcomes and student learning achievements. Therefore, it is necessary to measure achievement motivation in the form of a achievement motivation questionnaire that has gone through the validity test stage and the reliability test stage. The subjects in this study were students of SMK 01 Cipongkor class XII totaling 20 students. From the results of the validity test of 38 statements there are 30 questions that are declared valid and the validity test gets a value of 0.941 which means it is included in the very high category. Thus the achievement motivation questionnaire can be used as a tool to measure the level of achievement motivation of students. Keywords: Achievement Motivation, Validity and Reliability

The purpose of this study is to analyze problems in student discipline through Personal and Social Guidance Services that focus on student interaction in socializing at school in order to improve student discipline. The research method used is qualitative research that is literature study (library research). Based on the results of literature study, it is found that personal social guidance services can improve student discipline.
