Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze how Ustadz Asmar Habibie designs a da'wah communication strategy in building relationships with the congregation in the digital era. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation, especially the analysis of Ustadz Asmar Habibie's da'wah video content on the Instagram and TikTok social media platforms. The results of this study indicate that the da'wah communication strategy used by Ustadz Asmar Habibie in building relationships in the digital era by utilizing digital media platforms, namely creating da'wah and social content on social media, also establishing close relationships with the congregation through replying to comments with funny vt and jokes that are his trademark. In this case, Ustadz Asmar Habibie can be widely known by young people and parents in absorbing religious values and he can reach wider relations both in West Pasaman, outside the district and even outside the province.

Abstract

The rapid development of social media, especially TikTok, has had a significant influence on communication ethics, including among students of Ma'had Aljamiah UINSU. TikTok as a popular platform allows instant exchange of information, but often ignores Islamic communication values. This study aims to examine the use of TikTok by students from the perspective of Islamic communication ethics. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a single case study approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, documentation, and content analysis. The results of the study show that although social media is often filled with impolite or controversial communication, students still try to maintain Islamic communication principles in every interaction. They prioritize friendly and positive communication, verify information (Tabayyun), and avoid harsh words and maintain peace in communication (Silm). Interviews with students showed that they were aware of the importance of filtering information and maintaining speaking ethics, even amidst the dominance of negative trends on social media. These principles are not only guidelines for preaching, but also as steps to maintain constructive and peaceful communication in the digital space

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Tabligh in improving public speaking skills at the Al-Mukhtariyah Sungai Dua Islamic Boarding School. Tabligh, which comes from Arabic which means to convey, is used for preaching and developing communication skills. Based on the theory of preaching communication and constructivism, this study shows that Tabligh activities not only function as a medium for preaching, but also as a forum to train students to speak in public, both in the Islamic boarding school environment and in society. This research method uses a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques for administrators, students, and teachers who actively participate in Tabligh activities. The results of the study showed that students who initially felt nervous and insecure when speaking in public, are now more adept at delivering speeches, poems, and preaching materials. This study concludes that Tabligh activities at the Al-Mukhtariyah Sungai Dua Islamic Boarding School play an important role in developing students' communication skills, this is in line with the educational goals of Islamic boarding schools to produce cadres of students who are able to communicate effectively and have noble morals.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the transformation of da'wah communication that occurs in the digital era, with a focus on analyzing strategies and challenges in spreading Islamic messages. The development of information and communication technology has driven a paradigm shift in the method of delivering da'wah. Digital media such as social media, blogs, and video platforms are now the main means used by da'i to reach a wider audience, especially the younger generation who are very familiar with the digital world. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach and content analysis, and is complemented by in-depth interviews with da'wah practitioners and analysis of relevant literature. The results of the study show that transformation through digital media opens up significant opportunities to increase the reach and interactivity of da'wah message delivery. However, there are also a number of challenges, including difficulties in maintaining message authenticity, content verification, and data security and privacy issues. In addition, competition with a flood of information from various digital sources also forces da'wah practitioners to develop innovative and adaptive communication strategies so that Islamic messages continue to be conveyed effectively and on target. The findings of this study are expected to provide strategic recommendations for religious institutions in optimizing the use of digital technology for the dissemination of da'wah messages, as well as offering solutions to the challenges that arise. This research also contributes to the development of modern da'wah methodology that is relevant to the dynamics of the digital era, so that it is expected to be able to maintain the sustainability and attractiveness of Islamic values ??in a global context.

Abstract

Competition between the Umrah pilgrimage travel industry (PPIU) is increasingly competitive and has developed very massively today. This is evidenced by the emergence of many Umrah Travel companies that claim to be official Umrah pilgrimage organizers or have not yet obtained complete legality. This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy of the Umrah pilgrimage travel organizer marketer PT Zafa Mulia Mandiri by highlighting the transactional phenomenon between Baitullah fighter marketers and Ujroh fighter marketers. This study uses a qualitative approach and as a scalpel uses phenomenological theory, and digs up information data in the field through in-depth interview techniques with 4 (four) informants based on their own perceptions and this data is obtained through interview techniques with questions that have been prepared in advance. In addition to interviews, researchers also conducted participant observation and other documentation recordings. The results of the study revealed that there were incidents of transaction activity problems between marketers who were truly Baitullah fighters who merely carried out amaliah and hoped for blessings from God. In addition, researchers also found that Ujroh fighter marketers violated business ethics by seizing pilgrims who had been prospected by previous marketers. The study concluded that the marketing strategy of Umrah travel marketers can be distinguished from fighting for the intent and purpose as an Umrah marketer, whether only to expect blessings and rewards for inviting people to the Baitullah or only to gain profit.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of symbols, meanings, and interpretation processes in Islamic communication, especially in the context of spreading da'wah messages. In the midst of the development of digital technology and globalization, da'wah messages are no longer delivered conventionally, but through visual symbols that contain layered aesthetic, cultural, and religious values. By referring to classical semiotic theories such as those proposed by Saussure and Peirce, this study utilizes a qualitative approach through case studies and content analysis of da'wah materials distributed in traditional and digital media. Analysis of religious symbols reveals the dynamics of the relationship between denotative and connotative meanings that have the potential to create a plurality of interpretations among the people. The results of the study indicate that differences in cultural context and adaptation of digital media also influence the perception of da'wah messages, thus requiring adaptive communication strategies that are sensitive to the dynamics of religious values. These findings are expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions in the development of more effective and inclusive da'wah message delivery methods.

Abstract

This study examines the role of intercultural communication in resolving social conflicts in multicultural societies, with a case study in the Sukakarya District community, Musi Rawas Regency. Amidst the increasingly complex dynamics of cultural diversity, differences in values, norms, and perceptions between community groups often trigger social conflicts. Intercultural communication is considered a strategic instrument that can create mutual understanding and reduce tensions that arise due to these differences. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The data obtained were analyzed thematically to identify communication mechanisms that have been implemented by the community in reducing conflicts, as well as to reveal supporting factors for the success of intercultural interactions. Initial findings indicate that empathy, adaptation, and appreciation for the cultural identity of each group play an important role in creating social harmony. The results of this study are expected to provide significant contributions to the development of effective intercultural communication models, as well as provide strategic recommendations for policy makers and communication practitioners in designing preventive and adaptive intervention programs. Thus, this study not only enriches academic discourse but also becomes a practical reference in efforts to strengthen social integration and reduce conflict in multicultural societies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of signs in the film "Tuhan Izinkan Aku Berdosa" using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, which includes denotation, connotation, and myth. The film was chosen because it explores themes of sin, forgiveness, and the search for identity, closely linked to social and religious values in Indonesian society. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through in-depth observation of visual elements, dialogues, and symbols within the film. The analysis results reveal that the film not only portrays individual inner conflicts when facing social and religious norms but also deconstructs social constructions of morality through rich visual symbolization. At the denotative level, the film depicts the protagonist’s journey in confronting moral dilemmas. At the connotative level, the use of colors, expressions, and settings deepens the emotional nuance of the story. Meanwhile, at the myth level, the film represents ideological struggles between religious values and individual freedom. This research concludes that "Tuhan Izinkan Aku Berdosa" serves notmerely as entertainment but also as a medium of social critique, encouraging audiencesreflect deeply on the meanings of sin, forgiveness, and personal freedom within the context of society.

Abstract

Israel's aggression against Palestine has claimed many lives, damaged important infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, and private assets. Indonesia rejects Israeli aggression against Palestine by boycotting Israeli-affiliated products as MUI fatwa No. 83 of 2023 concerning support for the Palestinian cause. This study aims to examine whether there is an effect of brand awareness on purchase intention of Israeli-affiliated products among FDK UIN SU students. This research uses a quantitative approach with non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The sample size was 100 students determined through the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 10%. Data collection instruments through questionnaires using a Likert scale. The SPSS version 26 application was used to statistically analyze the data. The results showed that brand awareness affects the purchase intention of Israel-affiliated products among FDK UIN SU students by 14.2%, while 85.8% is influenced by other variables not explained in this study. The direction of the effect is negative, meaning that the higher the brand awareness, the lower the purchase intention. This shows that high brand awareness decreases purchase intention which indicates that students boycott Israeli-affiliated products.

Abstract

This research analyzes the dynamics of political communication in the formulation of the Regional Regulation on the Implementation of Islamic Boarding Schools in Lubuk Linggau City. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research utilizes interviews, observations, and document analysis involving members of the DPRD. Using Kingdon's Multiple Streams Framework, this study reveals that the regulation emerged through the convergence of three main streams: the problem stream, which highlights the limited access of pesantren to funding and legal protection; the policy stream, which is reflected in the legislative initiative of Commission IV of the DPRD supported by national regulations and academic partnerships; and the political stream, which involves political support from local parties and support from the executive. These converging streams open a policy window that allows pesantren issues to enter the formal policy agenda. The findings underscore that effective political communication, cross-sectoral collaboration, and strategic framing of pesantren as socio-educational institutions are crucial in advancing local regulations. This research offers practical insights for other regions that want to develop contextualized faith-based regulations. Future research is recommended to examine policy implementation outcomes and comparative analysis across different jurisdictions to assess policy transferability and long-term impact.
