Abstract

This research was motivated by learning problems in Public Speaking at SMK Negeri 8 Jakarta, where 57.1% of students considered conventional text-based learning media boring and 71.4% struggled to understand practical material due to limited concrete visual examples. This study aims to: (1) describe the development process of a Canva-based E-Module learning media for the Public Speaking elective subject in Class XI MP at SMK Negeri 8 Jakarta; (2) evaluate the validity of the E-Module based on assessments from material, media, and instructional design experts; and (3) test its practicality based on student responses. This study utilized the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, consisting of five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The research subjects included expert validators and Class XI MP students of SMK Negeri 8 Jakarta in small group and field trials. Data were collected through pre-research needs assessment questionnaires, expert validation sheets, and student practicality questionnaires, which were then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results indicated that the media achieved validation scores of 98.33% from the material expert, 91.67% from the media expert, and 88.33% from the instructional design expert, yielding an average of 92.78% in the "Very Valid" category. The practicality test scored 95.71% in small group trials and 96.85% in field trials, averaging 96.28% in the "Very Practical" category. Consequently, the Canva-based E-Module meets the validity and practicality criteria, making it suitable for Public Speaking instruction.

Abstract

Divorce leads to changes in family structure that affect parenting patterns and children’s character development, especially during the “golden age,” which is a critical period in an individual’s development. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of parenting patterns among divorced parents and their implications for the character development of children in the “golden age.” The study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design conducted in Jangrana Village, Kesugihan Subdistrict, Cilacap Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Research findings indicate that divorce gives rise to parenting dynamics characterized by the dominance of one parent or the extended family, reduced involvement of one parent, inconsistencies in the provision of financial support and emotional support, and changes in family communication patterns. These conditions influence children’s character development to varying degrees within each family. Children who receive warm, consistent care supported by cooperation between the family and school demonstrate more positive character development, including discipline, responsibility, emotional regulation, and social skills. Conversely, inconsistent parenting tends to be associated with poor emotional regulation, low self-confidence, and limited social interaction skills. This study confirms that the quality of parenting after divorce, not the divorce itself is the primary factor in the character development of children during the “golden age.”

Abstract

This article examines the concept of inclusive tolerance in the Charter of Medina and its relevance to the guarantee of religious freedom in the Indonesian Constitution. The 1945 Constitution, particularly Article 28E and Article 29, provides a strong normative foundation for religious freedom, yet its implementation in practice still faces challenges such as discrimination, limited recognition of local belief groups, and administrative obstacles. The Charter of Medina, as an early political document in Islamic history, demonstrates the recognition of plurality, equality of rights, and deliberative mechanisms as the foundation for governing a diverse society. These values can serve as a historical precedent and normative inspiration for strengthening inclusive policies in Indonesia, so that religious freedom is genuinely experienced by all citizens. By linking Indonesia's constitutional principles with the historical values of the Charter of Medina, this article emphasizes the importance of building a more effective and just model for protecting religious freedom, one that is aligned with the principles of pluralism and social justice.

Abstract

The School Literacy Movement (Gerakan Literasi Sekolah/GLS) is a national program designed to foster students' literacy culture through reading habituation and literacy-based learning activities in schools. However, the implementation of GLS in elementary schools continues to face various challenges that affect its effectiveness. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the School Literacy Movement at SD Negeri 1 Blang Mangat, Lhokseumawe City, using the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) model. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the implementation of GLS has been carried out through a 15-minute reading activity before the learning process in all grade levels. However, the program has not been implemented optimally because the school has not established an official decree or technical guidelines to support GLS implementation, literacy facilities—particularly reading materials—remain limited, and teachers' understanding of the GLS stages is still focused mainly on the habituation stage. Nevertheless, the program has positively contributed to developing students' reading habits before classroom instruction. Therefore, strengthening school policies, improving the availability of reading materials, and enhancing teachers' competencies are essential to ensure a more effective and sustainable implementation of the School Literacy Movement.

Abstract

This study analyzes the internship program's role in developing the soft skills of Educational Technology students at Universitas Negeri Makassar, particularly within non-educational sectors. The research is prompted by the dynamic demands of the global job market, which increasingly prioritize soft skills alongside technical expertise, and the necessity for graduates to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. The primary objective is to evaluate the program's implementation, examine the resulting soft skill enhancements, and identify obstacles faced by students. A qualitative research methodology was employed, utilizing the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation involving students and faculty members. The results demonstrate that the internship program significantly contributes to the development of essential soft skills, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity (4Cs), as well as responsibility and adaptability. Furthermore, the findings reveal that Educational Technology students have extensive career opportunities in diverse industries such as media, government, and creative sectors due to their flexible, multidisciplinary competencies. However, students encountered challenges such as technical skill gaps specifically in digital tool proficiency and differences between academic and corporate standards. In conclusion, the program serves as a strategic bridge that enhances graduate readiness and professional competence in a competitive workforce.

Abstract

The learning of Indonesian language in elementary schools continues to face challenges, particularly the low level of students' learning outcomes due to the predominance of conventional teaching methods that provide limited opportunities for active student engagement. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on improving the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Banda Sakti in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 40 students, including 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. Data were collected through pretest and posttest learning achievement tests and analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and Independent Samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS software. The results showed that the average pretest score of the experimental class increased from 65.0 to 91.0 on the posttest, while the average score of the control class increased from 66.5 to 80.5. The greater improvement in the experimental class indicates that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model had a positive effect on students' Indonesian language learning outcomes. Therefore, the Problem Based Learning model can be considered an effective instructional alternative for improving both the quality of the learning process and students' learning outcomes in Indonesian language subjects at the elementary school level.
