Abstract

Learning motivation is a crucial factor in achieving academic success, particularly in mathematics, which is often perceived as challenging by elementary students. This study aims to examine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model integrated with the Canva application on the learning motivation of fifth-grade students at SD GMIM Lalumpe. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The results showed a significant increase in learning motivation among students taught using CTL assisted by Canva compared to those taught conventionally. These findings indicate that contextual learning combined with interactive digital media can enhance student motivation and engagement in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This classroom action research investigated the effectiveness of a play-based talaqqi-repetition method in improving Juz 30 memorization among 13 kindergarten students at TK Islam Duta Ananda, Sleman. Using the Kemmis & McTaggart model across two cycles, the study addressed common problems in early childhood tahfidz education: monotonous instruction leading to boredom, poor retention, and low confidence. Results demonstrated substantial improvement, with average memorization scores rising from 2.38 (pre-cycle) to 4.12 (cycle 2), and classical mastery increasing from 15.38% to 92.31%. Both qualitative and quantitative data confirmed that integrating play-based strategies with traditional talaqqi-repetition methods significantly enhanced focus, motivation, retention, and emotional engagement in children aged 5-6 years, aligning with research showing multisensory approaches strengthen learning outcomes in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the optimization of digital media utilization in improving students’ literacy and numeracy skills at SMP Negeri 2 Ibun. The background of this research is based on the rapid development of digital technology and the increasing demand for quality learning in the digital era. This study employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students, while data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of digital media such as instructional videos, educational applications, and online learning platforms can enhance students’ learning interest, understanding of learning materials, as well as their literacy and numeracy skills. However, the optimization of digital media utilization still faces several challenges, including limited facilities and infrastructure, as well as teachers’ competencies in managing digital-based learning. Therefore, school support in the form of teacher training and adequate facility provision is necessary to ensure the optimal implementation of digital media in improving students’ literacy and numeracy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic environmental education values in the learning process at MTs Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. The research employed a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that Islamic environmental education is not implemented as a separate subject but is integrated into classroom learning, teachers’ role modeling, and school culture through various programs and habitual practices. Value integration is carried out through value-oriented lesson planning, contextual learning that links subject matter with environmental realities, and the evaluation of students’ attitudes and behaviors. Teachers’ exemplary conduct plays a key role in internalizing environmental care values based on Islamic teachings. In addition, cleanliness programs, classroom environmental management, and the use of the school environment as a learning resource strengthen students’ ecological awareness. Supporting factors include the alignment of Islamic values with environmental conservation principles and a supportive school culture. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of limited conceptual understanding among some educators and time constraints in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effect of the Spelling Bee Game on the vocabulary mastery of eighth-grade students at SMP 18 in Bengkulu City. This study was conducted based on the issue of low vocabulary proficiency among students, which is often caused by monotonous learning methods, the lack of interactive spelling activities, and students’ low motivation to learn new vocabulary. The research employed a quasi-experimental design using the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, involving two classes with a total of 48 students. The instrument used was a vocabulary test assessing students’ spelling accuracy, word recognition, word meaning comprehension, and their ability to use vocabulary in simple contexts. The results demonstrate a significant disparity in post-test scores between the experimental and control groups, with mean scores of 53.50 and 74.50, respectively. The independent samples t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), confirming that the Spelling Bee Game significantly improved students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Early childhood education is an important stage in stimulating all aspects of child development, including cognitive, motor, socio-emotional development, as well as the cultivation of cultural values and character. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Rumah Pintar Kajang Lako Educational Play Tool (Alat Permainan Edukatif/APE) as a learning medium for introducing the traditional house culture of Jambi to children aged 5–6 years.This study employs a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including literature review and observation of children’s play activities. The research subjects were 18 children from TK Islam Diniyyah Al-Azhar, Jambi City.The results show that the use of the Rumah Pintar Kajang Lako APE provides meaningful stimulation for children’s cognitive and fine motor development through activities such as assembling geometric puzzles, recognizing numbers 1–10, identifying typical Sumatran animals, and learning about distinctive cultural features of Jambi City, including traditional foods, the Keris Monument, and Gentala Arasy. These play activities also promote hand–eye coordination, thinking skills, memory, and problem-solving abilities.In addition, this APE is effective in instilling knowledge and appreciation of local culture from an early age. The role of the teacher as a facilitator, by providing guiding questions, further supports children’s exploration and active participation in the learning process. Therefore, the Rumah Pintar Kajang Lako APE can be used as an effective, enjoyable, and contextual alternative learning medium in early childhood education to support child development while preserving Jambi’s local culture.

Abstract

Abstrak ditulis maks Learning, as an effort to seek knowledge and learning, in the Islamic perspective can also be understood as a path to pursue knowledge. This is because learning is an obligation and a necessity. The concept of learning and learning in Islamic thought was put forward by figures who provided insights into the concept of learning, namely Al-Ghazali and Al-Zarnuji. Both share similarities in discussing ethics in the process of learning or seeking knowledge. Their well-known works include: Ihya’ Ulum al-Dinexplains the importance of knowledge, morals, and manners in the learning process. Meanwhile, Al-Zarnuji, through his work Ta‘lim al-Muta‘allim, emphasizing the learning procedures, manners, and practical strategies that a student must follow. This research uses the library research type.(library research), with literature in the form of books, articles and research results from previous studies. The type of library research is the study of the thoughts of figures. In the view of Al-Ghazali and Al-Zarnuji, it is explained that in the learning process it is necessary to prioritize the purity of the soul (purify the heart from bad behavior and reprehensible traits) with the intention of achieving Allah's pleasure, then carry out learning with istiqomah and earnestly and not being arrogant

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of interactive multimedia in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at the junior high school level. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 30 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 1 Galesong Utara. Students were given a pretest to measure their initial cognitive achievement, followed by learning activities using interactive multimedia, and finally a posttest to evaluate their learning improvement. The cognitive learning outcomes were measured using objective test instruments and analyzed using JASP software. The Shapiro–Wilk normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (p = 0.068). The paired samples t-test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with t = –14.55, df = 29, and p < 0.001. The mean score increased substantially from 55.67 in the pretest to 88.33 in the posttest. Furthermore, the effect size was very large (Cohen’s d = 2.656), indicating a strong impact of interactive multimedia on students’ cognitive learning outcomes. These findings confirm that interactive multimedia is highly effective in enhancing students’ understanding, engagement, and cognitive mastery in PJOK learning.

Abstract

Sources of law constitute fundamental pillars in the formation and implementation of legal systems, providing legitimacy, legal certainty, and normative direction for state governance. In the global legal context, three major legal traditions are widely recognized, namely civil law, common law, and customary law, each characterized by distinct sources of law. The problem addressed in this study lies in the limited comprehensive understanding of the position and role of legal sources within these traditions, particularly in the context of Indonesia’s pluralistic national legal system, which faces the challenges of globalization and digitalization. This study aims to analyze sources of law as the main pillars of the civil law, common law, and customary law traditions and to examine their relevance to the development of Indonesia’s national legal system. The research employs a normative legal research approach with a library research design. Data were collected through the examination of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, which were analyzed qualitatively using a descriptive-analytical method and a comparative legal approach. The findings indicate that sources of law in the civil law tradition primarily emphasize statutory regulations as the main source of law, ensuring legal certainty and systematic order. In contrast, the common law tradition places judicial precedents or case law as a dominant source of law, allowing legal norms to evolve dynamically in response to social changes. Meanwhile, customary law functions as a living source of law that reflects local values and community-based wisdom. In the Indonesian context, these three legal traditions interact and complement one another, forming a pluralistic, adaptive, and justice-oriented national legal system. Strengthening legal literacy, internalizing Pancasila values, and integrating local wisdom through civic education are essential strategies to enhance public understanding and effective application of legal sources in the global and digital era.

Abstract

The study of Islamic studies methodology is highly relevant for discussing the basic concepts, urgency, and objectives of Islamic studies methodology, and outlining methods for understanding Islamic teachings in the context of pluralistic and dynamic Indonesian society. This study is expected to provide a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Islam and encourage the emergence of moderate, rational, and nationally beneficial religious patterns. This study aims to understand the basic concepts of Islamic studies methodology, as well as to understand the urgency of studying it, to understand the objectives of Islamic studies methodology, and to understand the various scientific approaches (social, humanities, and theological) used in understanding Islam. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method, namely examining various classical and contemporary literature relevant to Islamic studies methodology, both from a normative-theological and historical-sociological perspective. The results of the study indicate that the basic concept of Islamic studies methodology is a systematic epistemological foundation that functions as a framework for understanding Islam scientifically, dynamically, and comprehensively. The sources of Islamic studies are the Qur'an, Hadith, and ijtihad (Ijma and Qiyas). The urgency of Islamic studies lies in its function as an instrument of social transformation, enabling people to understand Islam holistically (kaffah) and avoid partial understandings and extreme attitudes. The primary goal of Islamic studies is to deeply and systematically understand the essence, core teachings, and basic principles of Islam in order to develop noble morals and a well-rounded personality within the individual. The method of understanding Islamic teachings in Indonesia has unique characteristics, combining cultural openness with a spirit of pluralism within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
