Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of animated learning videos on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Kotabumi, Cilegon. Unsatisfactory learning outcomes, particularly in subjects requiring complex concept understanding, prompted this research. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 50 students divided into experimental (using animated videos) and control (conventional methods) groups. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests (Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk), homogeneity tests (Levene’s Test), independent t-tests, and N-gain analysis. Results showed a significant difference between groups (t = -4.542, p < 0.001), with a mean difference of -4.040 (95% CI: -5.829 to -2.251). The N-gain analysis indicated a greater improvement in the experimental group (M = 36.385, SD = 4.221) compared to the control group (M = 10.801, SD = 4.526). These findings confirm that animated videos effectively enhance student learning outcomes. Recommendations include teacher training in technology integration and further research on combining instructional media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami tantangan dalam menerapkan model Direct Instruction dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di kelas V SD Negeri 80/I Batang Hari. Model Direct Instruction dianggap efektif dalam menyampaikan materi secara teratur dan jelas, tetapi dalam penerapannya masih menghadapi beberapa masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, wawancara guru, dan dokumentasi aktivitas pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa tantangan utama dalam penerapan model tersebut, seperti kurangnya waktu pembelajaran, partisipasi siswa yang rendah, media pendukung yang kurang beragam, serta kesulitan guru dalam menyesuaikan metode pembelajaran dengan beragam kemampuan siswa. Hal ini menyebabkan proses pembelajaran cenderung dominan oleh guru dan kurang memberikan ruang bagi siswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya inovasi dalam strategi pembelajaran, terutama dengan menggabungkan Direct Instruction dengan metode pembelajaran yang lebih aktif agar tujuan pembelajaran IPAS dapat tercapai secara lebih baik.

Abstract

This study examines the role of accounts receivable confirmation and internal control in ensuring the fairness of corporate financial statements. The main issue identified concerns the risk of inaccurate receivable presentation caused by weak internal control systems and ineffective receivable confirmation procedures. The purpose of this research is to analyze the extent to which receivable confirmation and internal control contribute to enhancing the reliability and fairness of financial information presented in financial statements. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach. Data were obtained from relevant prior research articles, which were then analyzed and interpreted to draw conclusions from ten previous studies related to this topic. The analysis process involved identifying key findings, comparing results across studies, and determining the pattern of relationships between the effectiveness of receivable confirmation and internal control systems in ensuring the fairness of financial statements. The findings indicate that receivable confirmation plays a vital role as an independent verification tool to ensure the existence and accuracy of receivable balances. Strong internal control particularly in the aspects of segregation of duties, transaction authorization, and managerial supervision has been proven to reinforce confirmation results and reduce the risk of material misstatements. The synergy between both mechanisms enhances the reliability of information and ensures the fairness of financial reporting, thereby strengthening stakeholders’ trust in the integrity of corporate financial disclosures.

Abstract

This article examines literature from an educational perspective, focusing on three main aspects: the definition of literature, its various types, and forms of literary appreciation. This study is based on theoretical analysis derived from both classical literature and recent research. The results of the discussion indicate that literature is an expression of human experience expressed through aesthetic, imaginative, and meaningful language. Literary types can be classified based on form (prose, poetry, drama) and content (narrative, lyric, didactic, dramatic, and reflective). Each type has its own characteristics that reflect the diversity of culture and societal values.Furthermore, literary appreciation is understood as an active process involving the understanding, evaluation, and appreciation of literary works, encompassing not only cognitive aspects but also affective and social aspects. In an educational context, literary appreciation plays a crucial role in developing language skills, enriching vocabulary, fostering aesthetic sensitivity, and instilling moral and social values. These findings emphasize that literature learning in elementary schools should emphasize not only theory but also concrete experiences through reading, writing, discussion, and performance. Thus, literature not only functions as entertainment but also as an educational tool that supports the intellectual, emotional, and character development of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat membaca siswa melalui penerapan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) di SDN Banyuajuh 3. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan serta pengaruh program terhadap siswa kelas IV. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program GLS—terutama kegiatan membaca selama sepuluh menit sebelum pembelajaran dimulai dan pemanfaatan pojok baca di kelas—berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi serta kebiasaan membaca siswa. Pada minggu pertama, minat baca siswa masih rendah, namun secara bertahap meningkat pada minggu-minggu berikutnya seiring tumbuhnya ketertarikan terhadap buku bergambar dan cerita pendek. Strategi guru berupa kegiatan merangkum bacaan dan pemberian pertanyaan juga mendukung peningkatan keterampilan literasi. Secara keseluruhan, pelaksanaan kegiatan literasi yang konsisten serta kolaborasi antara guru dan lingkungan sekolah berperan penting dalam menumbuhkan budaya membaca di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Pengaruh penggunaan bahasa gaul terhadap kemampuan dan kebiasaan berbahasa Indonesia di kalangan remaja. Bahasa gaul, sebagai bentuk variasi bahasa nonformal yang berkembang pesat di media sosial dan pergaulan sehari-hari, sering digunakan sebagai sarana ekspresi diri dan identitas kelompok. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik Bahasa yang sederhana untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan bahasa gaul dan kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia formal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bahasa gaul memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penurunan ketepatan berbahasa Indonesia, khususnya dalam aspek kosakata dan struktur kalimat. Namun, bahasa gaul juga berperan positif dalam meningkatkan kreativitas linguistik dan solidaritas sosial antar remaja. Di sisi lain, penggunaan bahasa gaul yang berlebihan dapat menurunkan kemampuan remaja dalam menggunakan bahasa Indonesia secara baik dan benar. Diperlukan upaya edukatif untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran remaja akan pentingnya menjaga kemurnian bahasa Indonesia tanpa menghambat perkembangan bahasa gaul sebagai bagian dari dinamika budaya. Dengan demikian perkembangan media sosial telah mempercepat penyebaran bahasa gaul di berbagai lapiran masyarakat dan sebaiknya disarankan untuk memperhatikan dan secara baik.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the differences in leadership styles between the church leader at GBI Suzuya Tanjung Morawa and the school principal at SMAS PGRI 1 Medan. The research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach through direct interviews with both leaders as well as several congregational members and teachers. The findings reveal that church leadership is oriented toward spiritual service, faith development, and strengthening interpersonal relationships among congregants by emphasizing values of love, empathy, and the example of Christ. Meanwhile, the school principal’s leadership focuses on educational management, human resource development, and the enhancement of motivation and academic achievement through the application of a transformational leadership style. The main difference lies in the orientation and approach, where the church leader’s style is relational and spiritual, while the school principal’s is structural and strategic. The study concludes that an effective leadership style must be aligned with the organization’s characteristics, vision, and needs in order to achieve common goals optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used by leaders in resolving conflicts that occur within a team. Conflict is an inevitable aspect of any organization but can yield positive outcomes when managed effectively. This research employs a qualitative method through direct and indirect interviews with two respondents: a large kiosk owner on MMTC Street and a night market owner on Makmur Street, Medan Tembung. The findings indicate that effective leadership strategies in handling conflicts include the leader’s ability to act as a “conflict detective” by analyzing root causes, serving as a neutral dialogue facilitator, and promoting collaborative solutions that benefit all parties involved. In addition, leaders need to implement preventive measures through clear organizational structures and open communication to maintain team harmony. Therefore, a leader’s success in managing conflict is not only measured by their ability to resolve issues but also by their capacity to build an adaptive, empathetic, and collaborative work culture.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perceptions of students of the Library and Information Science Study Program, Padang State University, intakes of 2021 and 2022, regarding media literacy and disinformation on social media. The rampant problem of disinformation in the digital era demands critical thinking skills so that media users are able to sort out the truth of the information received. This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The study population was 191 students. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% error rate, resulting in 66 respondents. The sampling technique used simple random sampling, and the research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability (α = 0.908). The results showed that students' perceptions of media literacy and disinformation were in the very good category with an average score of 3.49. The expectation indicator obtained the highest score of 3.63, followed by attitude with a score of 3.57, motivation with a score of 3.45, experience with a score of 3.44, and interest with a score of 3.36. These findings indicate that students have a high awareness of the importance of media literacy as a bulwark against disinformation on social media. Students also demonstrated positive motivation and experiences in applying media literacy skills, although interest in formal educational activities still needs to be improved. This research confirms that media literacy has become a real necessity for the younger generation in creating a healthy, critical, and responsible social media culture.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of an Augmented Reality (AR)–based learning media for teaching the topic of viruses in Biology for students in Phase E at SMA Negeri 1 Bonjol. The problem underlying this research is the difficulty faced by students in understanding the abstract and complex concept of viruses, the use of conventional teaching media that lack interactivity, and the low level of student motivation. The purpose of this research is to develop AR media that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ understanding and motivation in learning the virus material. The research was conducted using the ADDIE development model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The product developed is an Android application named ViRex (Virus Real Experience), supported by a student worksheet (LKPD) and teacher guide. ViRex includes realistic 3D virus models, interactive AR features and offline usability. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, student practicality questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test for effectiveness analysis. The results of expert validation showed that the product is categorized as highly valid in both material and media aspects. The practicality test with students indicated that the application is easy to use, attractive, and engaging. Effectiveness analysis through pre-test and post-test showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes and motivation. In conclusion, the AR-based learning media developed in this study is feasible, practical, and effective to be used as an innovative learning tool for teaching virus concepts in Biology for senior high school students.
