Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on improving the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was implemented in two cycles. The subjects of the study were sixth grade students at SDN 007 Sungai Pinang. The instruments used included observation sheets, critical thinking tests, and reflective journals. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the PBL model was able to improve students' critical thinking skills from cycle I to cycle II. The improvement was shown through the average score of the critical thinking test results and students' active participation in the learning process. Thus, the PBL model is effectively implemented to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of children's social-emotional character through the use of colourful blocks and natural materials at State Kindergarten 08 in Bima City. The study used a qualitative field research approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the use of colourful blocks and natural materials can stimulate cooperation, empathy, responsibility, and emotional control in children. Children appear to be more active, communicative, and able to work together in groups through constructive play activities such as building a ‘friendly mini city’. Furthermore, the important role of teachers as mentors who guide and teach children to manage their emotions and instil positive social values through good and reflective interactions. This study concluded that State Kindergarten 08 in Bima City is able to facilitate children's learning with innovative media.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how to optimize elementary school learning through understanding Jean Piaget's cognitive development theory. The research employs a literature review approach and qualitative analysis of relevant literature. The main focus is on the concrete and formal operational stages that influence children's understanding of learning. Data analysis is conducted descriptively to identify the implications of Piaget's theory in designing teaching strategies appropriate to children's cognitive development stages. Abstract

This study aims to prove the effect of servant leadership style, compensation, work environment, and work culture on teacher work motivation at XYZ Sidikalang School. This study is motivated by the low motivation of teachers' work which is reflected in the level of absenteeism and performance that has not been optimal. Data obtained through interviews, surveys, and attendance records show that a less participative leadership style, unequal compensation, inadequate work facilities, and a less collaborative work culture are the main factors that affect motivation. The research shows that these four variables are critical to improving teachers' work motivation and the overall quality of education. This study uses Frederick Herzberg's two-factor theory as a framework to identify extrinsic and intrinsic factors that influence work motivation. The findings emphasize the need for schools to pay more attention to these aspects to create a more motivated and productive teaching force.

Abstract

The low level of numeracy literacy among elementary school students, particularly in understanding number operations, highlights the need for more engaging and meaningful instructional innovations that align with learners’ developmental characteristics. Interactive multimedia based on storytelling emerges as a strategic alternative because it integrates narrative, visual elements, and digital interactivity to strengthen conceptual understanding and enhance learning motivation. This study aims to 1) analyze the effectiveness of storytelling-based interactive multimedia in improving students’ numeracy literacy; and 2) identify the factors influencing its successful implementation. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using a qualitative descriptive approach to synthesize ten selected articles obtained through the PRISMA 2020 stages, including identification, screening, and inclusion. The studies reviewed involve elementary school students, particularly those in grade V, within the context of mathematics learning. Data were analyzed by examining the alignment of research questions, key findings, and implications reported in each article regarding the development of numeracy skills. The results of the study indicate that 1) interactive multimedia based on storytelling is effective in enhancing students’ understanding of numeracy concepts, learning engagement, and motivation; and 2) infrastructure readiness and teacher competence significantly influence the smooth implementation of digital media, with schools that have adequate technological support demonstrating higher numeracy outcomes. This study recommends the development of more adaptive narrative-based media that can be seamlessly integrated into mathematics instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading skills of grade 2 students at UPT SD Negeri 75 Bentang through the SAS method, a systematic and structured approach to developing reading skills by understanding language structure and sentence analysis. This research employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) to identify learning issues, implement necessary changes, and evaluate effectiveness. The results show that the SAS method effectively enhances students' reading skills, demonstrating significant improvements in sentence structure comprehension and vocabulary.Therefore,the SAS method is concluded to bea n effective alternative for enchanging elementary school student’s resding skills,worthy of consideration by teachers for reading instruction.

Abstract

Rendahnya minat baca anak panti asuhan masih menjadi persoalan yang kurang mendapat perhatian dalam konteks pendidikan nonformal, terutama karena minimnya program literasi berbasis kegiatan langsung. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan meningkatkan minat baca anak melalui program storytelling dan pembentukan perpustakaan mini di Panti Asuhan Karisma Harapan Anak Bangsa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 22 November 2024 melibatkan 20 anak. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, dokumentasi, dan penilaian perilaku literasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh anak terlibat aktif, dengan 70% peserta menunjukkan peningkatan minat baca. Peningkatan terlihat pada frekuensi memilih buku (naik 65%), keaktifan berdiskusi cerita (naik 72%), serta pemanfaatan perpustakaan mini (naik 68%). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa intervensi literasi sederhana melalui penyediaan lingkungan literat dan aktivitas membaca yang menyenangkan efektif dalam meningkatkan minat baca anak. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pelaksanaan program literasi yang berkelanjutan agar dampaknya lebih optimal dan berjangka panjang.

Abstract

Spiritual intelligence plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character and behavior, particularly in aspects of self-awareness, discipline, emotional control, and moral reasoning. However, the reinforcement of spiritual values in schools is often not systematically integrated into the learning process. Meanwhile, students’ lives in the modern era are characterized by high academic, social, and emotional pressures. The demands for achievement, grade competition, and high expectations from teachers and parents often lead to stress and emotional exhaustion. In addition, the influence of social media fosters an instant, hedonistic, and competitive culture that can weaken students’ empathy and moral character. This condition indicates the need to strengthen spiritual development so that religious values can be optimally internalized in students’ daily lives. In this context, the practice of congregational Dzuhur prayer is considered an effective strategy for developing spiritual intelligence while instilling character values. This study aims to explore the implementation of congregational Dzuhur prayer as an effort to develop students’ spiritual intelligence at SMPN 13 Surabaya. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, using observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain comprehensive data. The findings show that the regular implementation of congregational Dzuhur prayer has a positive impact on improving students’ discipline, emotional control, and spiritual awareness. Furthermore, this activity helps create a religious, harmonious, and respectful school environment among all members of the school community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh partisipasi orang tua terhadap pengembangan minat dan bakat peserta didik di MTs Hidayaturrahman melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Keterlibatan 45 peserta didik, 30 orang tua, dan 8 guru sebagai subjek penelitian menghasilkan temuan komprehensif mengenai dinamika partisipasi orang tua dalam konteks pendidikan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa partisipasi orang tua yang termanifestasi dalam bentuk dukungan finansial, emosional, keterlibatan langsung, dan pengawasan memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap pencapaian prestasi peserta didik. Data empiris menunjukkan bahwa 78% peserta didik dengan dukungan optimal berhasil meraih prestasi kompetitif, sementara hanya 22% dari mereka dengan dukungan terbatas mencapai hasil serupa. Hambatan utama yang teridentifikasi meliputi keterbatasan waktu, pengetahuan, dan kemampuan finansial orang tua. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan program parenting education, sistem komunikasi digital, dan skema bantuan untuk memaksimalkan partisipasi orang tua dalam mengoptimalkan potensi peserta didik secara holistik dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The town of Turrialba is renowned for its dairy farmers. Many high-quality products, such as milk and cheese, are produced in the area. However, in recent years, local farmers have faced challenges in improving their processes and competing with larger companies. Therefore, an improvement program is being developed to train farmers, improve their processes, and integrate technology into their daily operations, aiming to help them achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness.
