Abstract

PT XYZ is an oil field service provider company that has succeeded in achieving high welding quality standards in accordance with international requirements. One of the programs at PT XYZ to improve welding quality is the Welding School. The main goal of welding school is to produce welders who are competent and able to produce quality welds. However, when inspecting the welding results, porosity defects were still found so repairs had to be carried out. The aim of this research is to identify the causes of porosity defect factors using the Fishbone Diagram method. The research results explain that porosity defects in welding results are caused by five factors, namely human factors, machine factors, method factors, material factors and environmental factors. Next, recommendations for improvements using the 5W+1H method are given so that they can be used at the PT XYZ welding school as a reference for reducing repairs on welding results.

Abstract

XYZ Company is a subsidiary of PT. Z which is one of the largest companies in Indonesia. XYZ Company has various businesses in the sales and distribution sector, one of which is raw materials for making cement. The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze the demand for silica sand and tras stone. in December 2024. This study uses the Single Exponential Smoothing and Moving Average method with the help of Microsoft Excel in forecasting the demand for silica sand and tras stone in XYZ company for raw materials for cement making using historical data on the demand for silica sand and tras. The results of the correct forecast to forecast the demand for silica sand and tras stone for December 2024, the most accurate results were obtained using the Single Exponential Smoothing method of 5,064.05 and 4,063.45 with MAD values; MSE; and MAPE of 1,677.69 and 2,285.85; 4,997,901.53 and 7,442,297.34; and 46% and 62%.

Abstract

Customer segmentation is a crucial process in understanding consumer behavior patterns to support strategic decision making in marketing. The main challenge companies face is accurately segmenting customers based on transaction data. The purpose of this research is to determine and segment customers using the K-Means clustering algorithm based on the RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) model on AMDK sales transaction data at PT XYZ. The research method involves analysis of 111 customer data processed using Orange Data Mining software, with validation of the results using Silhouette Score which is useful in determining the ideal number of clusters. This research produces four customer clusters, with Cluster 4 reflecting customers with the highest level of loyalty, characterized by dominant Frequency and Monetary values, while Cluster 3 describes customers with low loyalty potential. The results of this research provide a scientific basis for the development of more focused and efficient data-based marketing strategies.

Abstract

Raw materials are very important in the production process. If raw materials are lacking, production can be delayed. On the other hand, if there is too much, the company will incur additional costs to store it. This research aims to find out how much sand (the main raw material in making concrete) should be ordered each time so that there is no shortage of raw materials, but also not to waste money on costs. storage. There are two methods used to calculate the ideal order quantity: first, the EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) method and second, the Min-Max method. The results show that by using the EOQ method, the company can save costs of IDR 19,102,570 compared to the Min-Max method. So, the EOQ method is considered more suitable to be applied in this concrete company because it is more efficient in managing sand supplies.

Abstract

The tofu agroindustry is a product made from soybeans which is widely cultivated, especially in Pandau Jaya village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. One of the tofu industries that has been operating for quite a long time in the area is the "Pak Lutfi" Tofu Industry. This industry experiences problems with the number of workers, expensive raw material prices, and products that have not been diversified. The aim of this research is to analyze development strategies in Pak Lutfi's tofu industry, so that solutions can be provided to the problems faced by this business. The research was conducted using a survey method, with the research respondent being Mr. Lutfi as the business owner. The data analysis used is SWOT analysis and SPACE Matrix. The results of research using SWOT analysis obtained ST strategy results. Meanwhile, for analysis using the SPACE matrix, a strategy is obtained in the form of an aggressive strategy.

Abstract

Lavatories are among the top items produced by INKA Multi Solusi, a manufacturing company that makes railway components. So the workload of workers needs to be considered, especially the assembly section because it rarely uses machine assistance with quite high demand. The time study approach was used to establish working hours, and workload analysis was used to determine the ideal workforce size. Three overload activities and two underload activities are identified based on the workload calculation. Meanwhile, the workload analysis results must be applied throughout the company to apply the ideal amount of workers., namely 2 people for installing partitions, 1 person for installing maulding, 2 people for piping, 2 people for installing closet sets, and 2 people for installing doors. Additionally, INKA Multi Solusi has established the right total number of employees based on the research.

Abstract

JSA is Job Safety Analysis or JSA is a safety management technique that focuses on identifying hazards and controlling hazards related to a series of jobs or tasks to be performed. This study is a qualitative description with an in-depth case study approach on the PT XYZ polder/pump construction project to understand in detail the JSA implementation process. This study shows that the implementation of JSA on the pump house foundation work at the PT XYZ project has succeeded in reducing potential hazards and accident risks. The results of the study indicate that JSA is effective for use in reducing work accidents such as the stages of work items to hazard analysis and what aspects will occur to the controls used to overcome this. In the construction of polders/pumps, it can be concluded that each work item in JSA can be analyzed for follow-up with engineering control, administrative control, and PPE that must be used by workers.

Abstract

PT. ABC is a company engaged in milling wheat into the largest flour in Indonesia. Every day the company has to produce as much as 6.500 tons/day of wheat flour to meet consumer needs. Therefore, employees must be able to work quickly and productively. The company has 11 Mill AB employees, not including millers. Many employees experience complaints and even injuries when carrying out activities on the production floor, starting from the screeningman, rollman, and shiftman. Given these problems, researchers used the Nordic Body Map Questionnaire in collecting primary data. Mill AB's employees have the most complaints about their backs because when working, employees often slouch. Furthermore, the data was processed using the OWAS method approach where the most complaints were in category 2, namely this attitude has the potential to cause damage to the musculoskeletal system. However, there is also a work attitude that is in category 3 where this attitude is also dangerous for musculoskeletal system disorders so work postures result in a very significant effect of tension.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is one of the government’s strategic initiatives aimed at improving the nutritional status of the community, particularly among school-aged children. The food ingredients used in MBG kitchens are generally perishable in nature, thus requiring an appropriate stock management system to prevent waste and quality degradation. One of the widely recognized stock management methods in the food and logistics industry is the First In First Out (FIFO) method. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a field study (case study) approach. Based on the results, the implementation of the First In First Out (FIFO) system plays a crucial role in maintaining the consistency of food product quality in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchen. The FIFO system has proven effective in ensuring that food ingredients entering the storage area first are used first, thereby minimizing the risk of quality deterioration and ingredient expiration.
