Abstract

The internet of things is defined as a technology that enables control, communication, collaboration with various hardware devices, various data, virtualizes all real things in the form of the internet and others through the internet network. In this study, a monitoring system for the height of granulated powder was created using a lidar sensor based on the internet of things which uses a measurement method via a lidar sensor. Data from the lidar sensor will be processed on the microcontroller and ethernet shield which is responsible for sending sensor data using an internet connection. Furthermore, it will be displayed on the website online. The results obtained from this simulation are tools designed to facilitate human work, reduce lost time, so that operators do not need to monitor granulation powder directly into the tank. Based on the test results and data analysis, the height of the granulated powder is directly proportional between the reference points using a measuring device with a lidar sensor or the design tool itself with a not too great difference of 4 cm or 0.022%

Abstract

This study aims to design and build smart door lock system using Microcontroller ESP32 based on Internet of Things (IoT) and Smartphone Android which will be installed in one of the study rooms at Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method which aims to identify and meet the needs and desires of consumers for the resulting product or service. This smart door lock is specially made to improve the security system more optimally, and transforming the use from manual door locks to smart door locks that more ergonomic in following technological developments and advances and expanding the use of internet networks in the field of security systems. The process of manufacture smart door locks based on consumer desires using the QFD method which has been processed using the house of quality (HoQ). it can be seen that the percentage of the highest value or priority for product attributes is “Control the smart door lock system using a smartphone” with a value presentation of 5,643%, followed by “Access the smart door lock using the internet network"with a value of 5,479%, Then on the third priority, “Smart door lock system accurately accepts input commands” with a value of 5,226%. Smart door lock product specifications based on the voice of customer statement are that in the main function of the smart door lock system can be controlled using a smartphone with blynk application control software via the internet network, then to meet the wishes of consumers provided wifi module on system components, or the durability of the door lock lever (solenoid) made of steel coated with stenliss so that it is not easily break in, as well the aesthetics (design) of smart door locks using PVC Box as a hardware display, and equipped with alarm as indication of sound when the smart door lock system is successfully accessed.

Abstract

Plant printing is a company unit tasked with fulfilling product packaging needs. In the production of printing plants from July to December, it was found that an average of 4% of products had defects (defects) exceeding the allowable tolerance limit of 2% per month, the biggest cause of problems with one of the machine components, namely the heater component. In these components found downtime of 3900 minutes for 3 months. Based on these problems, it is necessary to take preventive measures with a preventive maintenance approach by determining the schedule which is obtained from the calculation of the mean time to failure (MTTF) that the recommended maintenance interval is once every 5 days. Plus another improvement with the installation of an emergency lamp if the heater is indicated to be experiencing a mismatch. After the two approaches and improvements were carried out, a decrease in the number of product defects was obtained where the defect in the previous 6 months averaged 4% and in the following month after implementation the number of defects decreased to only 1.83%.

Abstract

Loading and unloading activities are the transfer of cargo from ship to port or vice versa. One of the loading and unloading activities is on liquid bulk cargo. Loading and unloading activities are related to ship services, namely ET indicators: BT. One of the indicators is Idle Time (IT). Idle Time (IT) is the number of unused working hours during loading and unloading work time at the mooring. IT value < RKAP indicates minimal obstacles to loading and unloading operations. The purpose of this study is to analyze Idle Time in liquid bulk loading and unloading activities every month and analyze the factors that can affect the performance of liquid bulk loading and unloading in 2021 at Company X. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods. The results of the analysis of Company X, namely Idle Time (IT) are not good because IT> RKAP. There are obstacles in loading and unloading activities due to various factors. The inhibiting factors are tool factors, environmental factors and worker factors. This requires good risk management.

Abstract

This research is discussed about the analysis of work posture in small-medium industries that produce sports shoes. UD XYZ Gresik is one of the companies in the athletic shoe industry that receives requests for shoes every day. Working hours for 9 hours with a break time of 1 hour. Production targets are sometimes not achieved, causing employees to work overtime. Along with the targets that must be achieved every day, employees in the shoe production room have to sit for a long time during working hours. Long working hours have an impact on musculoskeletal disorders, especially back pain. Working posture (sitting position) and length of work are factors that affect physical ability which continues to decline. Thus resulting in absenteeism and economic losses caused by a decrease in work capacity and a decrease in employee productivity. Novel Ergonomic Postural Assessment as an ergonomics method used as a tool to analyze the risk of ergonomics and working posture in the upper body to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries in the production process. The results showed that the value of the first working posture was 6 (work posture needs further research and action is needed in the near future). For the second working posture, the final NERPA score was 7 (work posture needs to be checked further and action taken as soon as possible). Both of these scores require improvement due to the risk of severe musculoskeletal disorders.

Abstract

Replacing acrylic knitting threads which are the most used material in Knitting production at Saung Knitting IKM, natural bamboo threads can also be another alternative. This research aims to innovate IKM Saung Knitting materials so that they can produce natural knitting products. The approach method used is a qualitative method. With direct experiments on machines, bamboo yarn has the potential to produce knitwear that resembles acrylic because of its soft and environmentally friendly character.

Abstract

The Kampar Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) was formed based on Kampar Regency Regional Regulation No. 7 of 2010 concerning the Regional Disaster Management Agency. The BPBD Office is currently located in the Old Regent's Office Complex since 2015, and is planning to add another floor to the office building. The addition of the (new) floor is intended for office space and meeting rooms, while the (old) lower floor remains in its original function. The condition of the old building's structure has structural columns of 30x40 cm2 and beams measuring 25x30 cm2 with the quality of the concrete, the quality of the reinforcing steel, the size and quantity are also unknown. The planning method for this new floor uses SNI 1726-2019 for structural planning procedures, SNI 2052-2017 for steel reinforcement standards and SNI 1727-2020 for minimum loading standards on buildings. This study uses structural analysis software that is commonly used as a tool for calculating structural planning. The results of this study, the old structure cannot support the floor of the new structure in accordance with the planned function, but the old structure can be strengthened by adding new reinforcing steel with fy= 400 MPa, while the quality of concrete (f'c) K-300 reinforcement or 25 MPa. Reinforcement design for columns using 12D20 with stirrups Ø10-150 and design for beam reinforcement 6D19 (top) 4D19 (bottom) with stirrups Ø10-100 on abutments, 4D19 (top), 6D19 (bottom) with stirrups Ø10-150 in the field.

Abstract

One of the factors for the advancement of the economy of a region is due to smooth transportation routes, because with smooth transportation routes the process of selling, buying and exchanging goods can be carried out. Highway pavement is an important factor in supporting the development of transportation infrastructure, asphalt concrete mixture on road pavement requires filler material as a modification to increase strength and fill empty cavities in the pavement constituent structure. Rice husk contains ± 90% -98% silica after undergoing complete combustion, which is expected from this study, this content can provide good benefits for the AC-BC pavement building material. The results of this study can draw the conclusion that the characteristics of the AC-BC pavement using rice husk ash for each variation do not pass the Cavity points in the mixture (VIM) and Cavity in mineral aggregate (VMA) which have been determined by the Highways Guidelines, while for other characteristics of the test specimens for each variation passed the specifications. Comparison of the characteristic values ??of each test object according to the very significant variation, the value of each characteristic increases with the increase in the amount of rice husk ash added.

Abstract

Conventional handling of biomass waste, such as burning biomass, can cause other problems, and is not effective. Another common handling method is utilizing biomass waste. Second, conventional handling does not significantly reduce the amount of biomass waste. Microwave heating uses several power parameters and activation time to determine the effect of power and activation time on iodine number and surface area [25]. Activated charcoal is used as a raw material because it is hard charcoal and has good quality, and microwaves are used because it saves energy and time. Microwave treatment to study the effect of concentration and time of microwave irradiation separately on iodine number and adsorption capacity. The results of the FTIR spectra show that activated carbon has an –OH group. The results of the adsorption test showed that the activated carbon that had been prepared was able to absorb ions at the optimum concentration. Adsorption isotherm studies were carried out using the Langmuir equation. Microwave irradiation time also has a significant effect on the quality of activated carbon in the microwave irradiation time range

Abstract

In a situation of increasing urbanization in the capital, the demand for decent and quality housing is also increasing rapidly. This increase was in line with increasing market demand for specific construction products such as railings, doors and windows which are of good quality. The research method and data collection will start from nine pairs of 316 stainless steel plates which will be welded using SMAW welding. Welding on stainless steel plates will be carried out with varying welding currents of 60 A, 70 A and 80 A. Each of these welding currents will be carried out on three stainless steel plates. The results showed that the use of a higher variation of welding current in the welding process resulted in a higher strength of the welded joint. The elastic modulus can decrease due to several factors such as the presence of microscopic cracks, changes in crystal structure, or changes in the bonds between atoms or molecules of the material. The strength of welded joints in stainless steel 316 material can also be affected by other factors besides variations in welding current. Parameters such as mains voltage, welding time and type of electrode also contribute to the strength of the welded joint.
