Abstract

The automotive manufacturing industry demands high levels of effectiveness and efficiency in every production process, particularly through the reliability of Robodrill machines, which play a crucial role in precision machining. Problems in the lubrication system frequently lead to high downtime, resulting in production delays, reduced productivity, and increased operational costs. Based on historical maintenance data from 2022 to 2024 at PT XYZ, the repair time for the Robodrill lubrication system showed significant fluctuations, ranging from 27 to 227 minutes, causing the maintenance division to fail in achieving its Key Performance Indicators (KPI). This study aims to identify the main factors contributing to prolonged repair times, design and implement effective improvement solutions, and evaluate the impact of the Quality Control Circle (QCC) method on maintenance performance. The QCC approach was applied through root cause analysis using fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, and the 5W+1H method. The results indicate that the implementation of QCC successfully reduced repair time, minimized machine downtime, improved technician effectiveness, and supported the sustainable achievement of maintenance KPI.

Abstract

Expert system is a system that seeks to adopt human knowledge to computers so that computers can solve problems as experts usually do. The Expert System asks for facts that will show symptoms of a particular disease and can provide an explanation of the results of the consultations that have been carried out. In diagnosis, an expert faces a problem including the answers found in the form of uncertain answers. The limited presence of an expert makes it difficult for some people to take steps or actions when exposed to disease due to lack of knowledge. The presence of the Expert System is made to replace the existence of an expert who is indirectly in the community. This system is based on website technology and is built using the PHP Native programming language and uses MySQL database storage. With the waterfall methodology used in system development, the stages are more structured and clear. The expert system created can produce a process of diagnosing stunting and other malnutrition in humans by using the Forward Chaining method. So that users are able to obtain information about stunting and other malnutrition.

Abstract

This research evaluates the potential of nutmeg essential oil as an environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in a bioethanol medium. GC-MS analysis identified 23 compounds, with the major components including sabinene (21.3%), α-pinene (18.7%), β-pinene (12.4%), myristicin (8.9%), and limonene (7.2%). Weight loss testing over 90 days showed the control system had a corrosion rate of 2.847 mm/year, which significantly decreased to 0.412 mm/year with the addition of 750 ppm nutmeg oil, resulting in an optimal inhibition efficiency of 85.5%. Increasing the concentration to 1000 ppm did not provide a significant improvement, indicating adsorption saturation on the metal surface. Electrochemical characterization thru potentiodynamic polarization curves showed a shift in corrosion potential from -0.687 V to -0.523 V and a decrease in corrosion current density from 48.3 μA/cm² to 6.8 μA/cm² at the optimal concentration, confirming nutmeg oil as a mixed-type inhibitor. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy showed an increase in polarization resistance from 245 Ω·cm² to 1,687 Ω·cm², consistent with the weight loss data.

Abstract

As electronic devices become more common, EMI is turning into a bigger issue. Conductive polymer composites are considered promising because they are lightweight, resistant to corrosion, easy to shape, and stable. Adding conductive fillers such as graphene, MXene, carbon fibers, or certain metals can further improve their ability to block EMI and conduct heat and electricity. These materials are very thin, but they can block sounds louder than 80 dB. 3D printing and template fabrication are two new ways of making things that allow you to create strong and flexible conductive networks with little filler. However, there are still some issues that need to be addressed, such as how to distribute the filler evenly, control the microstructure, and keep the polymer-filler interface dense. Some proposed improvements are to modify the interface, mix different types of fillers, and build structures that are porous or have more than one layer. If designed and manufactured correctly, these conductive polymer composites can be used in flexible electronics, wearable devices, and next-generation thermal management systems

Abstract

This study aims to design a web-based e‑procurement system integrated with a tiered digital approval feature and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method as a decision support system for selecting transporter vendors. Data were collected through observation of procurement processes, interviews with relevant stakeholders, and pairwise comparison questionnaires to determine the AHP criteria weights. Vendor evaluation criteria include quality, price, service, reputation, and performance evaluation. The AHP calculation results show that quality (0.355) and price (0.289) are the criteria with the highest weights, with a consistency ratio (CR) of 0.00094 (<0.1), indicating that the judgments are consistent. Synthesis of the criteria and alternative weights produces Transporter C as the selected vendor with a total score of 0.374, followed by Transporter B (0.360) and Transporter A (0.265). The integration of AHP into the e‑procurement system enables vendor assessment and approval processes to be carried out digitally, objectively, and well documented, while the tiered approval mechanism speeds up the approval process and increases transparency. The designed system is expected to improve operational efficiency, accountability, and the quality of procurement decisions at PT XYZ.

Abstract

This study aims to ignite the potential of using ramie fiber (Boehmeria nivea) as an alternative composite reinforcement material in supporting the Green Manufacturing trend. The main problem in using natural fiber is the low interfacial bond due to the natural wax layer on the fiber surface. Through a theoretical analysis and benchmarking approach, this study reviews the effectiveness of alkali treatment (NaOH) and the modern manufacturing method Vacuum Assisted Resin Infusion (VARI). The analysis results show that surface engineering through alkalization is theoretically able to increase the microscopic roughness of the fiber which is crucial for mechanical interlocking with the matrix. The benchmarking results show that the ramie composite has a density that is 40% lighter than glass fiber (E-glass), with a competitive specific strength. It is concluded that the integration of ramie fiber and the VARI method offers a lightweight, quality-stable, and sustainable material solution for implementation in future industrial structures.
