Abstract

Cables are a rapidly growing type of electronic waste. In the informal sector, metals are commonly extracted from cable waste by melting the insulating layer. It’s simple but generates toxic gases. A safer alternative involves using a wire stripper, that typically used in the cable industry and operated by skilled professionals. However, the informal sector, where most workers are women and daily laborers without specialized skills, requires tools tailored to their specific needs. Unfortunately, such tools are not yet available. This study aims to design a wire stripper suited for the informal sector using the Kansei Engineering Type I method. The identification of kansei words led to a design concept prioritizing safety, durability, and ease of use. Concept mapping produced a wire stripper design with dimensions of 35x30x30 cm, a maximum weight of 5 kg, and an iron body, featuring manually operated splitting and rolling mechanisms.

Abstract

This research analyzes differences in daily flow and water level using Two-Way ANOVA in the context of ISO 9001:2015. The study was conducted to evaluate significant differences in data during January-March and their impact on continuous improvement. Flow and water level data showed a normal distribution, reflecting stability, but the homogeneity test results revealed significant variations. Tukey's post hoc test showed significant differences between January-February and February-March, but not between January-March. These variations indicate the need to evaluate causal factors, such as weather patterns or operational instability. The research recommends standardizing procedures to maintain consistency of operational processes. Improved monitoring systems are also needed to ensure data reliability. Regular training for staff is an additional solution to reduce variability and support quality. This step is expected to strengthen the implementation of the principles of ISO 9001:2015.

Abstract

PT Petrokimia Gresik is a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia which is engaged in the fertilizer producer sector. This study was conducted to analyze the level of service satisfaction, measure whether there is a significant difference before and after implementation using the normality test, non-parametric statistics (sign test and Wilcoxon test), and correlation test. In the sign test and Wilcoxon test, 0 data with negative differences, 0 data ties, and 100 data positive differences were obtained from a total of 100 data. In the sign test, the Z-score value was -9.900 and in the Wilcoxon test, the Z-score value was -8.815. In the normality test, the significance value is 0.000, and 0.000 where ? 0.05, indicating that H0 is rejected, then the data is not normally distributed, in the sign test, the significance value is 0.000 ? 0.05 which means H0 is rejected, then there is a significant difference between before and after the implementation of Smart Warehouse Self Check-In and Check-Out, in the Wilcoxon test, the significance value is 0.000 ? 0.05 which means H0 is rejected, then there is a significant difference between before and after the implementation of Smart Warehouse Self Check-In and Check-Out, in the correlation test, the significance value is 0.000 ? 0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning there is a correlation between the data before and after the implementation of Smart Warehouse Self Check-In and Check-Out. This research can help solve problems and improve the level of service at the Warehouse and Packing Department counters.

Abstract

This research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the causes of bottlenecks in the water meter replacement process at PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya and offer better solutions to overcome them. This field research was conducted at PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya using data collection methods such as observation and direct interviews with managers or relevant task force members. The collected data was then analysis using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) technique.  The findings of this study show that there are two main obstacles in the work: the water meter procurement process that uses a tender system that requires a long delivery time, and the lack of flexibility in project scheduling related to weather conditions, coupled with tight targets and pressure to complete tasks. Therefore, improvements are needed in the water meter procurement process and policies regarding target adjustments in times of adverse weather conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to model the work process of factory turnaround using Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) at PT XYZ, which is the largest producer of urea fertilizer in Southeast Asia. Turnaround maintenance is a repair activity carried out when the factory is in a state of shutdown, with the aim of restoring factory performance in accordance with the desired design capacity. Through BPMN modeling, this study identifies critical stages in the process of planning, prepare, implementing, and evaluating turnarounds, as well as potential risks that can affect the smooth running of production. The results of the analysis show that this modeling not only improves the understanding of the workflow, but also helps in more effective decision-making. Thus, the implementation of BPMN at PT XYZ is expected to improve operational efficiency and reduce production disruptions, which in turn has a positive impact on the availability of fertilizers for farmers. This research has made a significant contribution to the development of planned maintenance methodologies in the manufacturing industry.

Abstract

CV. AFW is a manufacturing industry that focuses on shelf production. One of them is a bookshelf. Currently, the company does not know the standard time for making shelves, so the production capacity cannot be determined properly. As a result, many orders accumulate and consumer complaints arise. This research discusses the determination of the standard time used to produce bookshelf products. The research was conducted using the stopwatch method (time study). Time measurements were taken using a stopwatch. Measurements were taken 81 times. The results show that the length of time required by workers in producing bookshelves is 19400,16 seconds.

Abstract

The study to analyze relationship between regional financial planning and regional budget effectiveness in supporting optimization of the Lhokseumawe city revenue and expenditure budget. Local financial planning is crucial element to ensure that budget allocations on target and accordance with regional development priorities. Regional budget effectiveness is measured through achievement of local revenue targets, expenditure efficiency, and budget alignment with regional medium-term development plan. The research method uses descriptive quantitative with secondary information analysis in form budget realization reports and regional financial planning documents fiscal 2018-2022. Effectiveness and efficiency ratio analysis is used to evaluate how well the budget used and whether financial targets and regional programs achieved. The results show that quality financial planning contributes significantly to budget effectiveness, especially when the planning process involves coordination across regional apparatus organizations and based on information on the actual needs of the community. The conclusion of study shows that careful and measurable financial planning improves effectiveness of local budget utilization.

Abstract

The application of process costing in manufacturing industries has proven to provide significant benefits in cost management, especially in mass production with uniform products. This study aims to analyze the application of process costing in various industries, with a focus on sectors that utilize natural resources, and to explore the optimization of this method to improve efficiency and profitability through downstream processing. The research method used is a literature review, gathering relevant publications from the last 10 years, including articles and research reports, through searches in academic databases such as Google Scholar and JSTOR. The findings indicate that while process costing is effective in controlling costs and improving efficiency, this method has limitations in handling varied products and custom orders. However, in the downstream processing of natural resources, the application of process costing can be key in managing costs during the transformation of natural resource products into higher-value downstream products. The final report includes a critical analysis of the application of process costing in natural resource-based industries, along with a discussion of the practical implications and the importance of this method for management in making strategic decisions to achieve sustainability and profitability. This study provides comparative insights that are useful for industries in optimizing the application of process costing to enhance performance, competitiveness, and profitability through downstream processing of natural resources.

Abstract

Porang is a tuber plant from the Amorphophallus muelleri species, Porang is a plant that is tolerant of shade. Porang can grow on any type of soil at an altitude of 0 to 700 meters above sea level. Porang plants have strategic value to be developed, because they have great potential for export. Porang tubers contain Glucomannan as a basic ingredient in the food industry and have a low calorie value and are sugar-free. To support national food security, it is necessary to diversify the types of staple foods in the form of imitation rice so porang tubers have the potential to be processed into low-calorie rice, the potential for increasing food production is very possible if carried out in accordance with proper governance to develop the agricultural industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of social assistance and capital expenditure on poverty levels in Aceh Province from 2006 to 2023. The research employs a quantitative method using secondary data from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Aceh website and the Ministry of Finance’s DJPK website. Multiple linear regression analysis is used to examine the relationship between the independent variables (Social Assistance and Capital Expenditure) and the dependent variable (poverty levels). The results indicate that social assistance has no significant partial effect on poverty reduction, while capital expenditure has a significant impact. However, simultaneously, these variables do not exert a strong enough influence to reduce poverty jointly. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the government prioritize capital expenditure as an effective strategy to reduce poverty in Aceh, while also evaluating and enhancing social assistance programs for better impact.
