Abstract

Nurse rotation is a process of dynamically replacing scheduled nurses from one department to another. Job rotation can have a negative impact on nurses including feelings of anxiety, anger, fear, frustration, sadness, and nurses must begin to adapt to a new environment where this can reduce nurse satisfaction so that it can reduce the quality of work of nurses in providing nursing care. Objective: To analyze the effect of nursing supervision based on proctor's model on improving the quality of nursing work life of nurses after nurse rotation at RSUD dr. Soetomo Surabaya. Methods: This research design is a pre-experimental research method one-group pre-posttest design. The sample in this study were 30 nurses who were carried out nurse rotation using total sampling technique. Research data were collected through the QNWL questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test statistical test. Results: The results showed that the results of statistical test analysis with Wilcoxon on the Quality of Nursing Work Life variable (Work life home life, Work design, Work context, and Work world produced a significance value < alpha (5% or 0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant effect of nursing supervision based on proctor's model on improving the quality of nursing work life of nurses after nurse rotation at RSUD dr. Soetomo Surabaya. It is expected that the head of the room to supervise the nurses regularly and scheduled so that they can find out the various problems experienced by nurses, especially regarding the QNWL of nurses so that they can improve the performance of nurses which in turn can improve the quality of nursing care.

Abstract

Over the past three years, the pandemic has substantially altered the field of healthcare. Consequently, the general well-being of nurses was negatively impacted as a result of this change. It affects both their professional and personal lives, specifically their psychological, social, and physical sequelae. However, positive transformation, also known as posttraumatic growth, is possible. In the current study, the objective is to provide an account and analysis of the essence of the experience of posttraumatic growth among nurses after being exposed to COVID-19 during the pandemic. Twelve participants from Bataan, Philippines, were interviewed in person using a semi-structured interview format based on descriptive phenomenology. The study's findings unveiled three distinct themes, each of which possesses its own complementary opposition. One of the dichotomies is referred to as "heads," while the other is known as "tails" to represent the idea of "two sides of the same coin." The three dichotomies are spirituality vs. uncertainty, affinity vs. incompatibility, and prosperity vs. adversity. The findings will provide mental health providers with guidance regarding the causes and conditions that promote posttraumatic growth. Furthermore, the aforementioned research will contribute valuable insights into the areas of nursing, clinical psychology, and positive psychology in the Philippines.

Abstract

Mosquito density may represent the bionomic of Aedes sp and the risk of spreading the disease. The Indonesian Ministry of Health has been using ABJ, HI, CI, BI and Pupa Index (PI) to calculate the density of Aedes sp praimago and assess the risk of dengue transmission in an area, so it is necessary to look for an index that describes the individual risk of dengue transmission. The research objective was to analyze the relationship between praimago density of Aedes sp on the incidence of dengue fever in Kupang City, where in Kupang City. The research was conducted in 25 urban villages. Samples were taken from 20 people per sub-district obtained by cluster sampling, namely the center point is the DHF sufferer, then the nearest house was searched within a radius of 100 meters until a total of 20 houses were reached or 500 houses for Kupang City. The independent variables were larvae / pupa density (HP, PC, CPP, LH, PH, LCIH, PCIH, LPCIH, PPCIH, LPH, PPH) and egg density (TE, EDH, OIH), while the dependent variable was the incidence of DHF. Praimago density was determined by conducting an entomological survey in the form of a survey of eggs and larvae of Aedes sp. The data were processed to see the density of larvae and eggs per house, then statistically analyzed using independent t test, Chi Square, and Pearson Correlation. The study found that there was a relationship between larvae / pupa density (HP, PC, CPP, LH, LCIH, LPCIH, LPH) and egg density (TE, EDH, OIH) with the incidence of DHF. It concluded that the density of egg density and larvae / pupa density in a house can be used to estimate the risk of dengue fever from family members in the house.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a condition where blood sugar levels increase because the pancreas cannot carry out its function optimally and efficiently in producing sufficient amounts of insulin. Indonesia is the 7th country most affected by diabetes with an incidence of 10.7 million people. One factor that plays an important role in maintaining blood sugar control is family support because patients with good support also have good blood sugar control. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between family support and compliance with blood sugar control in diabetes mellitus sufferers in the Kartasura Health Center working area. The research method is quantitative with analytical observational type using a cross sectional approach. The sample taken was 174 respondents who received treatment at the Kartasura Community Health Center. Sampling was taken using accidental sampling. Data collection was carried out on respondents using a questionnaire. Univariate data analysis used the Kolmogorov Smirnov test and bivariate using the correlation test (Spearman Rank). The research results show that there is a relationship between family support and compliance with blood sugar control in diabetes mellitus sufferers with p-value=0.005 or <0.05. The conclusion of this research is that the better the family support, the better the patient's compliance in controlling blood sugar.
